Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1417: Chapter 1416: The Furious Green-faced Ghost

In truth, Ling Chen hadn’t thought so much about it. For one, he couldn’t let the Bone Woman possess his body, and currently, the only person around him who could be somewhat trusted was Hong Ye. For another, the Bone Woman’s power didn’t seem that important in his eyes, and he didn’t have the energy to help an entire Ghost God recover its power.

Thus, handing it over to Hong Ye was, in Ling Chen’s view, the optimal choice.

As for what Hong Ye thought, that wasn’t something he needed to consider.

Furthermore, based on what he understood during this period, Hong Ye wasn’t the type to be ungrateful; having given her such a great benefit, she probably wouldn’t turn on him.

Meanwhile, Ling Chen and Hong Ye had already walked out of the Illusory Realm and returned to the Shrine.

”Brother Ling!”

Upon seeing Ling Chen and Hong Ye appear, Beichuan Ye and others couldn’t help but brighten up, then asked with some surprise, ”Where did you two just go?”

They had just entered this Shrine when Ling Chen disappeared, and shortly after, Hong Ye also vanished. They didn’t even know what had happened; only Ling Chen and Hong Ye themselves might know what truly occurred.

”We were trapped by the Shrine’s Illusory Realm,”

Ling Chen said calmly, ”We went through a bitter struggle before breaking through the Illusory Realm. This Shrine is very strange. I suggest we leave here as soon as possible.”

”Indeed, Brother Ling is right,” Beichuan Ye scrutinized the surroundings, his expression growing slightly grave. ”This Shrine is truly eerie, and it doesn’t seem like there’s much to explore here. Let’s leave now.”

”Let’s go!”

The Great Elder of the Beichuan Family nodded slightly. Although he didn’t know whether Ling Chen was telling the truth, the two showed no signs of abnormality. They too were shrouded by an Illusion Technique earlier, but it wasn’t strong, merely immobilizing them.

People from the Liu Sheng Family walked out of the Shrine, while Ling Chen exchanged a glance with Hong Ye. She nodded lightly; the matter of Hong Ye being possessed by the Bone Woman was naturally something that couldn’t be disclosed to anyone.

However, at that moment, a piercingly angry howl resounded from Izumo Shrine on the Yingzhou Continent, spreading rapidly like thunder throughout the entire Izumo Shrine.

Normally, the shrine hall should be solemn, with many shrine maidens and God’s Envoys offering incense. But now, the Shrine had turned into a sea of blood, with a huge figure composed of black mist standing in the center of the Shrine. It stood three meters tall, with a single horn on its green face and two exceptionally protruding fangs, cloaked in black scale armor, resembling the giant statue Izumo Shrine worshiped.

At that moment, this giant black figure held a shrine maiden by the hand and crushed her body into fragments, blood raining down from the sky, and the ground scattered with corpses. The entire hall was in chaos, as if a Barbarian Bull had passed through.

In front of this giant shadow of black mist was an elder dressed in a blue robe. This elder was the Shaman of Izumo Shrine and its most powerful Great Yin-Yang Master, Heize Seimei.

”Honored Lord Green-faced God, what has angered you so?”

The black mist giant turned its head sharply, roaring at Heize Seimei, its massive voice echoing in their minds: ”The power seed I left within Hong Ye’s body has been forcibly removed!”

”What?”

Shock flickered across Heize Seimei’s face. The power left by Lord Green-faced God in Hong Ye’s body was different from that in other shrine maidens because, according to their plans, Hong Ye was destined to inherit his position, hence Hong Ye was to be chosen as the Great Yin-Yang Master. This power seed would gradually absorb Hong Ye’s life force, grow vigorously, and eventually develop into a fully-fledged manifestation.

”Who did it? Was it Ling Chen? Impossible.”

Heize Seimei shook his head, immediately dismissing his thought. ”Even other Shrine’s Great Yin-Yang Masters couldn’t remove Lord Green-faced God’s power seed; they don’t have that capability.”

The power seed was planted by Lord Green-faced God himself in Hong Ye, theoretically only solvable by him or a Ghost God stronger than him.

Looking across the entire Yingzhou, there were few who were stronger than Izumo Shrine’s Lord Green-faced God.

”It’s the Bone Woman of Ise Shrine!”

The eyes of the black mist giant emitted a furious glow.

”Bone Woman!”

Heize Seimei’s face changed again. He finally remembered that Ling Chen and Hong Ye should now be within Ise Shrine. He hadn’t imagined that those two had encountered the Bone Woman; if it was the legendary Bone Woman, she definitely surpassed the Green-faced Ghost.

”Damn! Damn bitch, damn little brat, damn Bone Woman!”

Lord Green-faced God raged, ”I will make all three of them wish they were dead!”

Heize Seimei was intrigued and asked, ”Bone Woman, why would she erase the manifestation implanted in Hong Ye by you?”

”The Bone Woman, she must be looking for a host.”

Lord Green-faced God quieted down and said in a low voice, ”She’s trapped in the Divine Palace Ruins, the Shrine has long fallen. If she can’t find another host to sustain her power, then her power will soon vanish entirely, even turn to dust. Ise Shrine has been annihilated for many years; it’s likely her power is down to mere scraps. This urgency likely led her to target Hong Ye.”

Hearing this, Heize Seimei’s eyes also showed a contemplative intent. It’s known that Izumo Shrine’s criteria for selecting shrine maidens are high, and Hong Ye, being one of the outstanding ones, is groomed to become a Great Yin-Yang Master. With her strong spiritual power, it’s normal for the Bone Woman to target her.

”But, Lord Green-faced God, the main body of a Ghost God isn’t able to directly possess humans, is it?”

Heize Seimei frowned, ”There have been many instances before when it ultimately failed, haven’t they?”

”Under normal circumstances, they can’t,”

Lord Green-faced God was equally puzzled, then a flash of light flickered in his eyes, ”Unless, she has the Eight-chi Kongo Jade divine artifact; that’s when it might be possible.”

”Eight-chi Kongo Jade!”

Heize Seimei’s eyes lit up suddenly; this artifact is yearned for by all Shrines across Yingzhou!

The current limitation of the Shrines’ powers is due to the inability to fully unleash the Ghost God’s power. Even those Great Yin-Yang Masters can only seal the Ghost God’s manifestation within their bodies, releasing a portion of its strength. If they had the Eight-chi Kongo Jade, there’d be no such limitation.

If he possesses the Eight-chi Kongo Jade, he could directly seal Lord Green-faced God’s main body into his body, sign a contract with it, and the power he could wield would definitely increase by more than tenfold!

”Eight-chi Kongo Jade disappeared thousands of years ago, and perhaps, it’s merely a legend. Whether it exists is still uncertain.”

Lord Green-faced God shook his head.

”No matter, once we capture Hong Ye, it will all be clear.”

Heize Seimei’s ambitions were great. As long as he captured Hong Ye, even without the Eight-chi Kongo Jade, he could at least obtain the Bone Woman, this powerful Ghost God.

This way, Izumo Shrine would instantly possess two major Ghost Gods, significantly boosting its strength.

However, this information must be kept secret, shared only within Izumo Shrine; otherwise, if other Shrines found out, it would be disastrous.
