Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 460: Chapter 459 Mother-Son Conversation_1

”Sect Leader!”

”Sect Leader...” Several Demonic Cult Leaders from Skypiercing Peak were startled and roared in anger.

This was too humiliating, tantamount to begging the Saintess for mercy. But what choice did they have? After all, Sikong Yi had been defeated by Liu Xiling.

”Enough!” roared Sikong Yi, glaring at Liu Xiling and Ling Chen. ”Saintess, you are indeed formidable. Both you and your son are ferocious characters. However, that which is too unyielding is easily broken. I hope you can continue to be so domineering.”

”That’s none of your concern,” Liu Xiling replied with a slight smirk. ”A wise man adapts to circumstances, Sikong Yi. You are very astute. However, I hope you won’t feign compliance while secretly causing trouble. From now on, if anything happens to my son, you all will be the prime suspects.”

”Hmph! Your son has offended too many people. Even among the Righteous Path, many wish for his death. Not everything can be blamed on us. Otherwise, we’ll all end up in a mutually destructive struggle.” Sikong Yi was unwilling to speak further with the Saintess, so he turned and left the hall.

His face was ashen. As a Sect Leader, he had never suffered such humiliation. However, since his strength was inferior, he could only endure it. This Liu Xiling won’t be able to act arrogantly for long, he thought.

”Chen’er, let’s go. We need to have a good talk, mother and son.” Liu Xiling then departed with Ling Chen.

「A moment later, they arrived before a mountain peak.」

This was the rear mountain of the Saintess Hall, filled with abundant Spiritual Qi. Bright sunlight shone down, illuminating the entire mountain peak, leaving no place in shadow.

Liu Xiling led Ling Chen to a palace on this rear mountain, where they sat down. Elder Beiming stood respectfully and motionless behind them.

”The environment here is pleasant,” Liu Xiling began. ”Behind it, there is a Jade Liquid Spirit Pool. Cultivating there year-round is highly beneficial for your Cultivation progress. However, Yun Xin often frequents that place, so if you wish to cultivate there, you’ll have to speak with her first.”

”Elder Beiming, you may leave. My son and I have matters to discuss.” Liu Xiling waved her hand.

”Yes, this old servant shall take his leave.” Elder Beiming bowed and respectfully withdrew.

Liu Xiling picked up the teacup from the table and gently blew on the surface. ”Alright, now that we’re alone, I know you must have many questions for me. Feel free to ask them now.”

”I want to know what exactly happened with the Divine Intent Sect incident,” Ling Chen, finally having the chance to personally ask about what occurred two years ago, hurriedly inquired. ”Also, is Father truly dead? If not, where is he now?”

”I’ve been meaning to tell you about this for a long time.”

Liu Xiling put down her teacup, looked at Ling Chen, and said, ”That night, while I was asleep, I was ambushed by several Sky Apex Realm experts. With no other choice, I was forced to flee the Divine Intent Sect alone. It was only later that I learned the sect had been attacked that night and suffered heavy casualties.”

”Then why didn’t you return to the Divine Intent Sect? Why go back to the Saint Witch Religion instead?” Ling Chen asked, somewhat surprised.

”Return to the Divine Intent Sect? To die?”

Liu Xiling shook her head with a smile. ”At that time, rumors were rampant throughout the Martial World, claiming I orchestrated the entire conspiracy and was responsible for harming Ling Tianyu. It was obvious someone was trying to frame me. If I had returned, I would undoubtedly have met a vicious end.”

”That’s true.”

Ling Chen nodded, then frowned. ”I wonder who the true mastermind behind this conspiracy is.”

”Who else could it be? Whoever benefited most from this upheaval is the one who orchestrated it.”

Liu Xiling snorted softly, seemingly having seen through it all long ago. ”After your father’s death, who benefited the most? Who took his place?”

”Mother, are you implying it’s Shentu Yan?”

Ling Chen’s eyes lit up. Indeed, speaking of who benefited most, wouldn’t it be Shentu Yan? Moreover, that man appears upright and spouts platitudes of benevolence and morality, but is, in fact, a vile and despicable scoundrel. Now that Mother mentioned him, he certainly seems highly suspicious.

”He is the prime suspect, of course,” Liu Xiling stated calmly. ”However, we cannot rule out others.”

”Then where is Father now? Is he alive or dead?”

Ling Chen was most concerned about Ling Tianyu’s state—life or death. After all, his father hadn’t appeared for a very long time, and there had been no word. If Ling Tianyu was still alive, why hadn’t he shown himself?

”All I remember is that he was severely poisoned that night,” Liu Xiling said, shaking her head. ”I was powerless to save him, so I could only knock him off the cliff, hoping he might escape that calamity. But since that night, I haven’t seen him, nor have I received any news about him.”

”How could this be?”

Hearing this, Ling Chen’s heart sank. If Ling Tianyu were still alive, even if he didn’t contact me, he surely would have contacted his wife, Liu Xiling. It’s unlikely that two years would pass without a single shred of news. It seems the odds are stacked against him. No wonder the Great Elder said he personally witnessed Mother killing Father. So that’s what happened.

”Tianyu has always been unpredictable in his actions,” Liu Xiling remarked, seemingly not worried at all. ”He tends to do as he pleases. Even if he disappears for a couple of years, I wouldn’t be surprised. So, we don’t need to worry too much about him. Perhaps when the time is right, he will naturally come to find us.”

She was a very rational person and knew Ling Tianyu through and through, so she wasn’t worried in the slightest.

”Alright, Chen’er, you won first place in the trial this time. According to the rules, you are entitled to a batch of Heavenly Origin Pills as a reward.”

As Liu Xiling finished speaking, with a flip of her jade-like hand, a gourd of Heavenly Origin Pills appeared in her palm, which she then handed to Ling Chen.

Ling Chen took the gourd, uncorked it, and a rich medicinal aroma immediately assailed his nostrils, invigorating his senses.

Indeed, these are Heavenly Origin Pills, and of top quality! A smile touched Ling Chen’s lips. There are at least a hundred top-quality Heavenly Origin Pills in here. This kind of elixir is undoubtedly versatile and precious. Whether used for Cultivation or combat, it’s extremely useful.

”Chen’er, give me your hand.”

Liu Xiling extended her jade-like hand and took Ling Chen’s. Then, her slender, fair fingers pressed onto his pulse. ”Your body contains a great deal of chaotic True Qi,” she said. ”These disparate streams of True Qi, each with a different aura, are all suppressed within your Dantian. For now, they won’t cause any issues. However, during Cultivation, this uncontrollable True Qi can lead to Qi deviation, and it will become increasingly difficult to manage.”

”I will now help you refine all these foreign True Qi. Are you ready?”

”I’m ready!”

Ling Chen’s eyes lit up. If he had to refine them all by himself, it would likely take a very long time. With his mother’s help, it was like receiving divine assistance; his efficiency would increase tenfold!
