Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 458: Chapter 457: Saintess Summons_1

”If truly necessary, I will personally take action to eliminate this boy.”

A cold gleam flashed in Sikong Yi’s eyes.

”What? Sect Leader, you intend to act personally?”

Xuanjizi and the others were all astonished. Ling Chen was indeed a great threat, but he was still just a junior. It would be sufficient for them to handle him; there was no need for Sikong Yi to intervene personally.

”This boy has obtained the inheritance of the Invincible Demon Lord. If I don’t act personally, he will only grow stronger and could very well become a grave threat in the future. Moreover, the Demon Elder once told me that this young man harbors a rather mysterious power.” Sikong Yi narrowed his eyes. ”Therefore, this boy must die. I have already sent letters to all Demon Way Experts loyal to me, instructing them to watch this boy. If an opportunity arises, they are to kill him immediately, without needing to report to me.”

”Then what about the Saintess? If you kill Ling Chen, will she not rebel?”

”The Saintess? I naturally have my ways to keep her suppressed.”

The magnates of Skypiercing Peak gathered, communicating via voice transmission.

”Who knows what those fellows are discussing now.”

Xia Yunxin gazed at the whispering Xuanjizi and others, her willow-like brows slightly furrowed.

”Is there even a need to guess? They must be plotting how to scheme against me,” Ling Chen sneered.

”You are already the Saint Child. They certainly wouldn’t dare to act openly; they can only make moves in secret,” Xia Yunxin said, nodding her head slightly, then reminded Ling Chen, ”You must be careful.”

”I anticipated this long ago. Their malicious intentions won’t be so easily extinguished.” Ling Chen’s expression was solemn. ”In this matter, our only recourse is to ask Mother for help. She can have the experts from Saintess Hall monitor those demons from Skypiercing Peak.”

Ling Chen knew that at his current level, if he encountered a Sky Apex Realm expert, he would undoubtedly die. Even Supreme Demonic Grandmasters of the Nine Heavy Realm, like those from the Green-faced Demon Sect, Tiger Demon Sect, and Leopard Demon Sect, were not opponents he could currently face.

After all, his previous success in repelling numerous experts from Skypiercing Peak was due to an external force—the residual power of the Invincible Demon Lord—not his own true strength. Ling Chen was not so arrogant as to misunderstand his own capabilities.

...

The Sky Demon Tower trial thus concluded with Ling Chen seizing first place, obtaining the inheritance of the Invincible Demon Lord, and becoming the Saint Child.

Second and third place were also taken by Xia Yunxin and Bai Qing from the Saintess Hall, respectively.

As for the Skypiercing Peak Lineage, all their top young experts had been killed or eliminated by Ling Chen; those remaining were insignificant.

This trial also had an immense impact within the Saint Witch Religion. After all, the Skypiercing Peak Lineage had suffered a crushing defeat, while the Saintess Hall had achieved a resounding victory. More importantly, Ling Chen was the undisputed star of the Sky Demon Tower trial. Not only did he claim first place, but he also became a Saint Child, a position on par with the Sect Leader—an unprecedented ascent in the history of the Saint Witch Religion.

With this, the prominence of the Saintess Hall would surely surpass that of Skypiercing Peak.

The turbulence caused by the trial would likely still require some time to settle.

Upon returning to Beiming Feng, Ling Chen also prepared to enter seclusion for two days to focus on digesting the gains he had made in the Sky Demon Tower.

In the Sky Demon Tower, he had absorbed the cultivation of four individuals: Hu Xiong, Mo Liqing, Yan Xiang, and Gu Qingcang. These four, their cultivation was all at The Master of the Sixth Realm or above. Gu Qingcang, in particular, possessed cultivation that had reached the formidable Martial Master Eighth Level. Their True Qi was exceptionally abundant. Ling Chen had no time to refine it in the Sky Demon Tower, managing only a small portion; the rest was sealed within his body.

Now, he needed time to refine it.

”Young Master!”

Just as Ling Chen was preparing for a long period of seclusion, Elder Beiming suddenly arrived.

”It seems more appropriate to address you as Saint Child now.”

Seeing Ling Chen, Elder Beiming bowed deeply, showing utmost respect.

”Elder Beiming, there’s no need for such formalities in the future,” Ling Chen said quickly. ”What brings you here specifically to see me? Has the Saintess emerged from seclusion?”

”Young Master, your guess is correct.” Elder Beiming nodded. ”The Saintess has emerged from seclusion and sent me to bring you to the Saintess Hall. She wishes to see you. Young Master, please come with me quickly.”

”In that case, let us depart now.”

Ling Chen rose and left the main hall with Elder Beiming.

”Young Master, your talent is truly exceptional. It seems that before long, you will surpass this old man,” Elder Beiming couldn’t help but exclaim as he looked at Ling Chen. ”This time, Sikong Yi and his group will undoubtedly harbor murderous intent towards you. They might even consider dispatching a Sky Apex Realm expert to assassinate you secretly.”

”Sky Apex Realm experts intend to assassinate me personally? Well, let them try...” Ling Chen had anticipated this and was not surprised.

”This old man naturally knows that you possess great secrets, Young Master. Even Sikong Yi cannot do anything to you,” Elder Beiming said. ”After all, Young Master, when you were merely at the Grandmaster Third Realm, you safely withstood attacks from multiple Great Grandmaster Eighth Layer talents. As your strength increases, you will only become more formidable. Now that the Saintess is aware of this matter, Sikong Yi will not be able to make a move. Several of us will also keep a close watch on Xuanjizi, Ghost God Honorific, and the others to ensure they don’t get an opportunity to strike.”

”That can be left to Mother’s arrangements. I have faith in the abilities of you all,” Ling Chen nodded.

While speaking, he and Elder Beiming swiftly traversed one mountain peak after another, arriving at the location of the Saintess Hall. He once again saw the towering Saintess Peak. This time, he did not avoid it and flew into it with Elder Beiming. Soon, they arrived at the palace on the highest summit. He observed the lofty palace, where two thrones were situated. On one throne sat Sikong Yi, and on the other, a graceful woman.

Why is Sikong Yi here too?

Seeing Sikong Yi, Ling Chen also felt a wave of surprise. The Saintess summoned me for a mother-son reunion, so what is Sikong Yi doing here?

”Young Master will understand shortly.”

Elder Beiming said no more, merely smiling.

This was the deepest, most core area of the Saint Witch Religion. Only the Sect Leader, the Saintess, and some Great Elders and old stalwarts of the Saint Witch Religion could come here. It was generally the place where the entire Saint Witch Religion discussed major affairs and implemented important decrees.

However, Ling Chen had established immense prestige within the Saint Witch Religion. His performance in the Sky Demon Tower trial, where he caused a bloodbath and an unknown number of experts died at his hands, was legendary. Coupled with inheriting the legacy of the Invincible Demon Lord and becoming the Saint Child, all Saint Witch Religion Disciples now felt their legs go weak upon seeing him.

Therefore, he encountered no obstruction entering the depths of the Saint Witch Religion.

However, he was in no mood to admire the layout of the Saint Witch Religion; his gaze was fixed on the woman seated on equal footing with Sikong Yi.

It was, impressively, Liu Xiling.

Liu Xiling exuded a mysterious aura that seemed to merge with the heavens, achieving a state of Heaven-Man Unity. It was as if, under all the heavens, she alone was supreme.

Her eyes were bright and translucent, like two azure gemstones, seemingly capable of seeing through any mystery and deducing or predicting the future.
