Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 77: Chapter 77: The Plan to Turn Defeat into Victory

”A plan to turn the tide?” Jiang Xue couldn’t help but show a look of doubt.

Given the current situation, how could there be any plan to turn defeat into victory?

In a direct confrontation, it is impossible to be a match for those three elders, especially the Great Elder, who can kill with a point of his finger. How can we fight that?

But if we were to play guerrilla warfare, first, they don’t even know how to disrupt the ceremony, and second, the ceremony is about to fill up. Once the Evil God descends, it’s still certain death!

”What are you afraid of? Anyway, you can still use artifacts to escape.”

”Besides, you have no other choice but to trust me, right?”

Chu Xiu’s calm tone seemed to carry a kind of convincing magic power. After hesitating for a while, the girl bit her lip hard.

”Alright, tell me your plan.”

Seeing her agree, Chu Xiu let out a breath and swiftly lifted her in his arms, then rushed towards the village’s clock tower.

His speed was very fast, and soon he reached the clock tower. It was the tallest building in the village, nearly thirty meters high. Chu Xiu estimated it was about the typical flying height of those elders.

Below the clock tower, there was a courtyard resembling a garden, with many stone corridors serving as obstacles. Even if the elders rained fire from the sky, they should be able to hold off for a while.

”What do I need to do?” Jiang Xue adjusted the black-framed glasses on her face and asked nervously.

”Just survive,” Chu Xiu replied and then disappeared into the clock tower, leaving the bewildered Jiang Xue.

At this moment, dense footsteps echoed from outside. Soon, a villager peeked inside, and upon seeing Jiang Xue, he immediately shouted excitedly, ”Here! There’s a sacrifice here!”

His shout stirred a commotion all around. In the distance, guards were riding over, and an elder nearby who was searching was also attracted!

This was Chu Xiu’s plan. He intended to use his advantage to chip away at the opponent’s top-tier combat power! No way would he let himself be surrounded and killed unilaterally.

On the way here, he had deliberately exposed his traces, while Jiang Xue was left as bait!

Meanwhile, he himself quietly lay in ambush within the clock tower.

Before long, he saw a fiery figure from afar drifting over.

”Here they come!”

Chu Xiu held his breath. With the help of Qi Concealing Technique, he almost melded with the surroundings. When the elder flew over, they merely glanced at the clock tower before disregarding it.

Within a few breaths, the elder was already near the clock tower, beginning to rain fire on Jiang Xue below!

Chu Xiu could see Jiang Xue’s scruffy figure dodging as if she might get hit by the flames at any moment!

Yet he still did not move! Jiang Xue, possessing escape artifacts, definitely had an extraordinary background and surely had other means to ensure survival, making it not so easy to catch her!

He just needed to patiently await the perfect opportunity.

And soon, this opportunity arose.

During the pursuit of Jiang Xue, the elder got closer and closer to the clock tower, until one instant, the distance was not even ten meters!

”It’s now!”

Chu Xiu’s figure shifted, and he rushed swiftly to the top of the clock tower!

Warrior Tier elite’s perception ability is strong, so Chu Xiu naturally couldn’t lurk openly in a position suitable for a sneak attack; otherwise, it would arouse the elder’s alertness!

Actually, Chu Xiu had been hiding in the middle of the clock tower, concealed behind thick stone walls, observing the situation through a small gap.

At this moment, his Qi Concealing Technique was maximized, combined with Silent Step Boots; he moved completely soundless, like a silent ghost!

Like an invisible wind, he charged to the top of the clock tower within a few breaths!

Through the open French window, he could clearly see the Fire Worship Elder floating outside!

Currently, his attention was fully focused below, searching for Jiang Xue’s figure!

”Die!”

Without any hesitation, Chu Xiu gathered the power of Great Success Mysterious Step at his feet, and with a thunderous roar, the bricks on the ground exploded on the spot. Simultaneously, Chu Xiu shot out like a stream of light!

With the support of Qi Concealing Technique, he didn’t attract the slightest attention from the elder, and until the critical moment of confrontation, the Fire Worship Elder only then turned his head in shock!

But it was too late. In the blink of an eye, Chu Xiu had crossed over ten meters, his Bone Spear stabbing into the back of the Fire Worship Elder!

”Puh-hiss!”

The body of the Fire Worship Elder was pierced straight through, with Chu Xiu pressing his entire weight onto the back!

”You!”

The Fire Worship Elder had more to say, but his chest was pierced by the Bone Spear, and as soon as he uttered a syllable, blood surged up his throat, choking him. Unable to resist any longer, the Floating Spell broke, and under gravity’s effect, both started plummeting from the air rapidly!

The Fire Worship Elder wanted to shake off Chu Xiu, but Chu Xiu grabbed his head wearing Bone Armor gloves, forcing his back down! Simultaneously, his knee pressed hard against the elder’s back, turning him into a buffer as they fell together!

Chu Xiu’s strength was startling, and he couldn’t break free, forced to watch as the ground rapidly approached!

”Bang!”

With a loud bang, Chu Xiu, riding the Fire Worship Elder, slammed heavily onto the ground! Even if the Floating Spell rebooted at the last moment, the immense impact still scraped the elder’s face bloody and mangled!

However, the Fire Worship Elder instead laughed. He twisted his head forcefully, almost his entire face fell off, and his mouth drenched in blood, with teeth almost shattered, the jawbone fractured. Yet he still managed to laugh sinisterly, while a surge of flames erupted from his body!

”Is everyone in this village a freak?”

Chu Xiu cursed, reacting swiftly as he dodged backward, narrowly avoiding the shooting torrent of flames. Simultaneously, Yin Wind Banner appeared in his hand, and with a swift uplift, solid Wind Blades shot out, slicing off the Fire Worship Elder’s legs at the knees!

The intense pain made him scream, but as he screamed, it again turned into sinister laughter. A mass of distorted flesh grew from the shattered knee bones, forming a sticky tentacle, swiftly crawling along the ground, dragging the remaining half of the Fire Worship Elder’s body to flee quickly.

This bizarre scene made Chu Xiu’s scalp numb, but he certainly couldn’t let him escape. The Yin Soul Banner waved, and ten Yin Ghosts pounced simultaneously, pinning down the elder, voraciously gnawing at his body.

Countless tentacles sprouted from the torn flesh, still trying to grasp Chu Xiu, but he merely sneered as the Celestial Demon Hand appeared, crazily striking the elder’s body!

Even at several meters distance, the strength of Celestial Demon Hand decreased, yet each punch was powerful enough to break his bones, and its attack speed was exceedingly fast, each punch raining down like a torrent!

”Puh! Puh! Puh!”

The elder’s body was battered like muddy pulp, every bone shattered by the torrential punches!

Under this intense barrage, the mutated flesh within him gradually ceased to grow, as his body was utterly torn apart by the frenzy of Yin Ghosts.

[Task Contribution Points +250]

A prompt echoed in Chu Xiu’s ear, making him cease and pant heavily.

After taking down the Fire Worship Elder, his task contribution points suddenly spiked by 250!

If he manages to clear the trial, such a bounty of contribution points would yield significant rewards.

Yet, there was no joy in Chu Xiu’s heart.

Even killing one, what difference does it make? There are still two remaining!

This time, it was under his sneak attack, and coincidentally, this guy in mid-air couldn’t immediately counter that he managed to effortlessly kill one Warrior Tier elite.

Let’s just say Qi Concealing Technique played a major role.

In a straightforward confrontation, Chu Xiu would struggle.

Not to mention, there’s one stronger, an elder who was already Warrior Tier before mutation, who can kill with a point!

After one elder’s demise, they will definitely be on guard.

Chu Xiu wiped the blood off his face and glanced not far away, despite the elder’s defeat, Jiang Xue had already been cornered by a squad of soldiers.

With a blank expression, Chu Xiu reactivated Qi Concealing Technique, his figure merging into the shadows.

Was there really a plan to turn the tide?

Everyone loves situations where you survive a hopeless situation, but in reality, the enemy is not a fool. They won’t leave flaws enough to overturn the situation.

His true intent was to seize the escape artifact at the moment when Jiang Xue was driven to the brink and forced to take it out!
