Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The Greatest Opportunity

The next day, after having a good night’s sleep and completely relaxing his Spirit, Chu Xiu returned to school.

Every returning Trial Taker would be thoroughly questioned about their experiences during the trial.

The government would assign specialists to consolidate this information to create maps of the Trial Ground, including each teleportation point, the locations of Awakeners, monster groups, and High Tier monster lairs, and based on this, devise reasonable plans to help Trial Takers improve their strength and unite everyone to tackle the World Task together.

”Name?”

”Chu Xiu.”

”Student ID?”

”17352009.”

”Professional Talent?”

”Bone Assembler (D), Bone Polishing (D).”

”Oh? A rare talent, are you sure that’s the name?”

”Yes.”

”Alright, then tell us about your experiences in the Abyss.”

”At first, my teleportation location was in an apartment building...”

Chu Xiu spoke while observing the person opposite him.

He seemed to be an experienced Awakener, at least at the Warrior Tier, with calm black pupils that seemed to see right through to a person’s heart.

Yet Chu Xiu still chose to lie without hesitation.

With the Qi Concealing Technique, as long as he didn’t encounter Awakeners of the Fierce Tier or above using Detection Skills on him, he remained unflustered.

It was said that at the very beginning, every Awakener who returned safely from the Awakening Trial had to register their real information, and Wizards, Peeping Toms, and other Professions with Detection Skills would ensure no one was lying.

But later on, people realized that no matter how tightly those information was secured, they would inevitably leak, leading to a poor growth and upgrading environment for highly talented Awakeners. After several cases where talents and Professions were stripped away in tragic incidents, the upper classes couldn’t sit still.

At first, it was the wealthy families and corporations who began to seal off their children’s information, refusing to submit it to the government, then it was High Tier Awakeners, and even ordinary kids thought of ways to conceal, along with the expansion of the trial’s range, even the Detection Professions gradually fell short.

Now, the government’s purpose for collecting information has shifted from ”supervision” to ”assistance.”

You can lie about your information, or even refuse to report it altogether, no one cares. The government only helps you plan how to act better next.

Of course, if you want to join a big corporation, or some high-benefit talent cultivation program, you must undergo checks, otherwise, everyone with an E or F Profession could claim to be S-Class, and that would be chaos.

Therefore, the registration officer in front of Chu Xiu didn’t fuss over his Attributes but was more interested in his experiences in the Abyss, the surrounding terrain, Corpse Demon distributions, and other intel.

Chu Xiu didn’t hide this, and just repeated what he had told Shen Zhuo and others.

Upon hearing that Chu Xiu, with just a Low Grade Support Profession talent and without any extra resources at the start, had impressively reached Level 6 through sheer courage, the Awakener in charge of registration couldn’t help but show a surprised expression.

He sincerely suggested, ”You could make your resume look good when major guilds are hiring, write down all these experiences. Even though your talent and Profession are only D-level, you might still get recognized.”

”You could also participate in the [Skill Assessment] and secure a temporary contract through your strength.”

”Yes, thank you, senior.”

After saying that, the registration officer started discussing serious matters.

”Chu Xiu, do you know what our primary task is at this stage?”

Chu Xiu shook his head.

The registration officer picked up a sign with four big characters written on it.

[World Task]

”Only by completing the World Task can the Trial World be preserved.”

”Regardless of whether you plan to challenge higher Levels or just want to work and earn money steadily, this is the only thing you need to focus on next,” he said, pointing at the sign.

The registration officer’s words made Chu Xiu’s expression grow a bit serious as he realized the gravity of the situation.

The exploration activities of Awakeners in the Abyss are referred to as [Deep Diving].

During Deep Diving, three kinds of situations may generally be encountered: [Complete World], [World Fragment], and [Abyssal Projection].

Of course, it is said that when diving deeply into the Abyss, there is a small chance of encountering some bizarre situations, even seeing some high-dimensional beings, but these are too far away from Chu Xiu to be of concern.

Of the three situations mentioned above, the first two are extremely rare; if randomly Deep Diving in the Awakening Space, 99.99% of the time, you’ll encounter an [Abyssal Projection].

The so-called [Abyssal Projection] is a replica created by the Abyss, with things inside matching the real world one to one, but with experiences and loot rates quite far apart.

The usual ”dungeon crawling” spoken of by Awakeners refers to going to the [Abyssal Projection].

Passing through an [Abyssal Projection] once allows you to leave your mark and subsequently enter it repeatedly, even choosing different difficulty levels. Naturally, the monsters will refresh each time, with quite a bit of randomness, and you might fail even after the hundredth run.

In contrast, a [Complete World] and a [World Fragment] are real existing worlds, tremendously valuable, and once discovered, major powers will immediately take over.

Generally speaking, a large-scale Awakening Trial can 100% discover a [Complete World], while a Level-up Trial can 100% discover a [World Fragment]. The higher the Tier, the larger the [World Fragment] discovered during leveling up.

Taking the Corpse Demon World as an example, a Warrior Tier level-up trial might grant you an entire building, while a General Tier might give you the whole city!

A complete world holds resources incomparable to an ordinary dungeon.

And as long as the World Task is completed, a permanent [Anchor Point] can be established, allowing all Awakeners participating in this trial to access it at will, though each entry will have a cooldown period.

For instance, Chu Xiu currently needs to wait 12.8 days before he can enter again.

But if the World Task isn’t completed within thirty days, everyone’s temporary [Anchor Point] will vanish.

Without [Anchor Points], these Awakeners can only explore the Abyss through [Deep Diving], with risks substantially increased and rewards vastly diminished!

The unknown is most terrifying; nobody knows what one might encounter while Deep Diving in the Abyss, whereas possessing a Complete World, even just staying in a stronghold doing menial work can bring in a substantial income.

Therefore, for everyone, the primary objective currently is to do whatever it takes to complete the World Task and preserve the Corpse Demon World.

Of course, there is also competition within this.

If able to complete the World Task, the Abyss will automatically evaluate everyone’s Contribution Points and issue rewards; in addition to task rewards, the top thirty can obtain a [Positioning Anchor Point], the top ten can get an [Advanced Positioning Anchor Point], and the first can acquire a [Core Positioning Anchor Point].

The function of these Anchor Points is to allow outsiders to enter the Corpse Demon World using special Artifacts, and the higher the Level of the [Anchor Point], the greater its authority.

Therefore, all major forces, including the government, will place bets in advance, funding those Trial Takers with high talent, helping them complete the World Task.

If a power manages to obtain an Advanced [Anchor Point], it can instantly recoup its investment, gaining massive profits from continuous exploitation later.

And naturally, this is reciprocal. An Awakener possessing a [Positioning Anchor Point], even doing nothing, will see a steady flow of income in the future.

It can be said that the World Task is the most important opportunity for all Awakeners in their early stages!
