Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1664: Section 1665: The Quiet Madman

Angel did not answer immediately, but rather frowned and remained silent.

This actually increased Melisa’s expectations even more. The fact that Angel did not outright reject the idea implied that he might truly have a solution.

”Perhaps it’s useless to a Transcendental Wizard, but if it really can be resolved, I have the authority to redirect the rewards that Onassis has requested from the Infinite Battle Tower to you,” Melisa said.

Angel glanced at Melisa; he indeed had no requests for the Infinite Battle Tower. After all, as a member of the Research and Development Institute, he could gain access to greater benefits.

However, although he had no requests himself, he could leave the opportunity for someone else.

For example, his brother Lyon.

A Strategic Level Mysterious Object like the Endless Corridor, even admired by Frost, would greatly enhance an apprentice’s combat capability. Angel, as an institute member, could enter the Endless Corridor, but Lyon could not.

Lyon was a Battle Maniac. He may not understand the significance of the Endless Corridor now, but he would surely regret it as he grew in the future.

But if this request could grant Lyon the opportunity to enter, that would not be bad.

Angel could not shelter his relatives forever; it was crucial that Lyon could grow on his own. The Endless Corridor, where one could challenge each level according to their strength, was very suitable for Lyon’s growth.

Upon this thought, Angel replied, ”I do have some ideas.”

Expectation shone in Melisa’s eyes as she awaited Angel’s reasoning, but Angel merely stated he had ideas without any intent of explaining them.

”I’m not sure if it will work, but I can try,” he said.

Angel took a step forward, but did not start right away. Instead, he turned and silently looked at them. Although he didn’t speak, the meaning to leave was quite clear.

”Do we need to leave? Could it be that you have some secret?” Farina asked curiously.

”It’s not exactly a secret, but this method was passed to me by my Mentor. It wouldn’t be proper to reveal it without his consent,” Angel seriously deflected onto Sanders.

Farina and Melisa looked at each other, unable to probe whether Angel was telling the truth or lying, but it seemed unlikely he would lie about something involving Sanders.

After all, it was something Sanders passed down; it might be a Secret Technique, and their reluctance to show it was understandable.

With this in mind, the group nodded and left.

As Hydra turned to leave, Angel suddenly asked, ”Actually, I’ve always been curious, your Excellency the Observer, why did you think I could have a solution?”

Before, Angel hadn’t planned to come to the medical room; it was Hydra who had called him.

”Is it because of Divination?”

Hydra paused for a moment, and the leftmost of its three heads turned around, slowly opening its eyes. Within the eye sockets was pure darkness; this leftmost head had no eyes.

”It’s not Divination.” The leftmost head spoke, its voice deep and hoarse, carrying an extremely ancient tone, as if encapsulating the passage of time: ”My leftmost head is the embodiment of my intuition. Intuition does not tell me the answer, but it directs me towards where I should look.”

Hydra originally did not intend to bring Angel, but when it passed by him, its leftmost head showed some agitation. Hydra could not explain the reason for this agitation from its leftmost head, but it represented intuition.

For Hydra, intuition was sometimes more reliable than prophecy. Since Angel was the source of this intuition, maybe he could be helpful in this matter.

So, Hydra called Angel over to the medical room.

”It turns out my intuition did indeed guide me in the right direction.” After leaving this comment, Hydra left the medical room with Melisa and Farina.

In the pitch-black medical room, only Angel remained.

”Intuition?” Angel murmured to himself. He purposely asked Hydra because he was puzzled as to why the Blood Night Shelter did not block the Divination. He initially thought that the Blood Night Shelter had failed. If it was intuition, then it would not be considered Divination, and indeed, Blood Night Shelter cannot protect against that.

After confirming that the Blood Night Shelter had not failed, Angel shifted his attention back to Onassis.

Angel slowly approached Onassis, who showed no reaction, just like the medical team before, who would not make any move unless they sensed hostility.

To Angel, Onassis felt the same as before, even his aura was just as pure.

Had it not been for the odd change in expression, it would have been very difficult to notice any change in Onassis.

Angel greeted him, and Onassis merely glanced at Angel with his crimson eyes, then gradually sank back into his own thoughts. Clearly, he responded to sound, but as Hydra said, besides that, he had no other logical behavior.

Like a silent madman.

”This is actually quite nice, no need to speak cryptically, and no need to always stick to philosophizing,” Angel commented quietly.

However, no sooner had Angel finished speaking than Onassis began to mutter madly: ”All the insignificant darkness hides within the shadow of the light...”

Angel: ”...Well, it seems I spoke too soon. Even if his thoughts have fallen into a dead-end, philosophy is still etched deep in his bones.”

Having assessed Onassis’s condition, Angel began to work on the so-called ”resolution method”.

He extended his slender hand and gently snapped his fingers in front of Onassis.

The weird oscillation carrying the Nightmare Illusion Breath instantly enveloped Onassis, and under the influence of this strange energy, his crimson eyes seemed to fall into a momentary confusion before slowly closing...

This was Angel’s resolution method.

To take Onassis’s alternate personality to the Wilderness of Dreams.

In the past, Angel had used this method on Rolando. However, Rolando’s situation was somewhat different from Onassis’s; Rolando proactively externalized his second personality, while his main personality went into hiding. Since Rolando’s second personality was created by the Dark Melody of Frost, it was completely immune to any mental control and could not be mentally interfered with. Additionally, the main personality was not willing to come out, so at that time, Sanders and Suise had no way to deal with Rolando’s second personality.

Onassis’s issue, on the other hand, was that his alternate personality had taken over the body, while the main personality wanted but was unable to come forward, which made it fundamentally different from Rolando’s situation.

However, Rolando’s case was actually more severe because he was completely immune to mental control.

If Angel was able to bring Rolando’s second personality to the Wilderness of Dreams, he felt that dealing with Onassis might be even simpler.

And indeed, it was.

Once Angel banished Onassis’s alternate personality to the boundless Wilderness of Dreams, Onassis’s previously closed eyes immediately opened.

But now, Onassis’s eyes were no longer glowing crimson. Instead, they had normal gleam, and looking at the trajectory of his pupils, he seemed to be contemplating something.
