Chapter 1663: Section 1664 Solutions

Melisa’s eyes lit up: ”The information Onassis previously sent to Trom simply mentioned suppressing the inner demons, and did not talk about completely solving them. According to his intention, awakening his dormant personality should already be sufficient.”

When Hydra mentioned that it was possible to awaken the dormant personality, Melisa thought the issue would be smoothly resolved. However, what she didn’t expect was that at this moment, Hydra added, ”Although there is a way to awaken the dormant personality, it might not be very applicable to the current situation.”

In Melisa’s puzzled gaze, Hydra explained the reason.

After confirming the existence of a dissociative identity, the solution he thought of was ”spiritual interference.”

This would involve interfering spiritually with Onassis’s current personality. Whether through hypnosis or mental suggestion, as long as he loses control over his physical body, a gap could be created for the main personality to emerge.

However, spiritual interference requires a premise: the subject’s thinking and reasoning must at least follow a certain logic. It’s not necessary for their thinking to align with the mainstream; even the extreme thoughts of a deviant are acceptable, as long as they are logically consistent.

But upon closer examination, Hydra found that Onassis’s current thought process is chaotic and cannot undergo normal spiritual interference.

”Of course, if normal interference doesn’t work, we can resort to forceful intervention. But that comes with risks. After all, Onassis’s split personalities share the same body, and forceful measures could very likely cause severe damage to Onassis’s spiritual power,” Hydra paused, ”Most importantly, even if we choose forceful intervention, it would take a significant amount of time to sort everything out.”

Melisa now understood that even if spiritual interference were successful, it would not allow Onassis’s main personality to awaken quickly.

But the dilemma is the award and coronation Ceremony is about to take place very soon. The arrow has already been placed on the bowstring; if they suddenly inform the audience that they have to change the award ceremony, the unwelcome consequences are hard to imagine.

”If we opt for forceful intervention, how much time is needed at the minimum?” Melisa asked after pondering for a while.

”At least ten days, and it could even take up to a month,” Hydra responded.

Melisa frowned. If it were one or two days, perhaps she could delay it. After all, the contestants need rest, which is a sufficient reason, and the audience, even if they complain, should be able to accept it.

But ten days is far too long. The purpose of hosting the Nova Contest is to expand the reach of Sky Mechanical City, and the award Ceremony is the most practical publicity method. It can significantly alleviate the negative perception caused by the Purification Garden. After ten days, the heat of public opinion would have diminished, and the promotional impact would not be as strong as it is now.

Therefore, ten days is entirely beyond Melisa’s consideration. It could even be said that she would rather forego the ritual of awarding the champion just to finish the award ceremony as soon as possible.

Of course, forgoing the ritual for Onassis is the last resort.

”Ten days is too long; we can’t afford that delay. Observer, apart from forceful intervention, is there really no other way to awaken his main personality?” Melisa inquired.

Hydra pondered, ”If we want to solve this in a short period of time, I can’t think of any at the moment.”

A look of disappointment flashed across Melisa’s eyes.

At this moment, Farina suddenly spoke up, ”The situation is quite clear now. The clash between Onassis’s primary and secondary personalities must be significant, otherwise he wouldn’t have sought external help. From my understanding of some knowledge about dissociative identity disorder, in this situation where the primary and secondary personalities are in conflict, the best way to bring out the hidden personality is by weakening the strength of the personality controlling the body.”

Melisa seemed to have an epiphany: ”You mean to say...”

”Knocking his secondary personality unconscious might just cause the main personality to appear,” Farina said, spreading her hands.

Melisa muttered to herself: Are all Alchemists this violent?

Yet, despite her muttering, the suggestion didn’t seem too bad. Melisa couldn’t help but turn to look at Hydra, wanting to hear what Hydra thought of this proposal.

”No way,” Hydra directly shook her head: ”I’ve said before that their personalities might seem independent, but they are actually one and the same. They share the same body; you can’t completely separate them. Any negative weakening done to Onassis not only affects his alter ego but also weakens his primary personality. It won’t be of any help to the awakening of his primary personality.”

Falina’s method had now been rejected as well.

Melisa felt a headache coming on. Could it really be that all options had been exhausted and it was best to simply not let Onassis appear at the award ceremony?

However, this seemed like it could also negatively impact the reputation of the Infinite Battle Tower.

But if not this, then what should be done?

Melisa really couldn’t think of anything else and looked to Hydra again with pleading eyes.

”I don’t have any other methods for a quick recovery,” Hydra paused for a moment: ”Perhaps you could consult the Beast Emperor, he might have a solution.”

The Beast Emperor Hydra mentioned was Melisa’s father, Rosen Yada.

”He’s been busy with some matters at the Research and Development Institute recently, I don’t want to disturb him,” Melisa said. Though she said so, Melisa also knew that if she did tell her father, his response would certainly be—forceful intervention. Ten days or half a month, so be it, it doesn’t matter.

To Beast Emperor Rosen, the matter of the Purification Garden is not significant at all. Even the decision to hold the New Star Competition was made by the upper echelons of the Infinite Battle Tower through a vote, not by Rosen’s personal opinion.

He completely disregards these reputation issues.

Or rather, when one reaches a certain height, they tend not to care too much about things that do not benefit them personally. Even those who have shared the same bed could be easily cast aside. A hint of irony flickered through Melisa’s eyes as she envisaged her mother’s image.

Falina also confirmed: ”The Research and Development Institute is occupied with something, and it’s likely the Beast Emperor won’t be able to attend to this matter shortly.”

After finishing, Falina glanced at Angel. The Beast Emperor was currently focused on Ivor Schubert’s affairs, and this matter was the very news spread by Angel.

”Then there’s nothing we can do,” Hydra’s blunt words caused Melisa to press her temples with a headache.

At that moment, Hydra suddenly turned her head to look at Angel: ”Does the Transcendental Wizard have any insights?”

This abrupt question made Melisa involuntarily direct her gaze toward Angel as well. Earlier, Hydra could have come alone but insisted on bringing Angel, and now she consulted Angel for his opinion... Melisa contemplated in her heart that Hydra was a top figure in the pyramid of the Prophecy school, and all his actions and words must have some deeper significance.

Could it be that Angel really had a solution?

With this thought, a glint of hope appeared in Melisa’s eyes as she looked expectantly at Angel.
