Chapter 1640: Section 1641: Swapping Experiences

Facing Sangye’s expectant gaze, Angel fell into contemplation for a moment.

In truth, the House of the Heart held little use for him. He did not major in Heart Illusions, and although he held some obsessions in his heart, these obsessions were not uncontrollable to the point of madness.

However, Angel did indeed have some thoughts about the House of the Heart.

The first thought that came to his mind upon hearing of the House of the Heart’s effects was not about himself, but about Toby. If Toby could confront his Extreme Resentment Thoughts using the House of the Heart, it might be a good thing for him.

Considering Toby’s situation gave Angel some hesitation.

Nevertheless, after pondering for a long time, Angel ultimately chose not to trade.

When Sangye saw Angel shaking his head, disbelief showed in her eyes; in her mind, presenting the House of the Heart meant that Angel would definitely trade, because there was no reason not to—it was a win-win situation.

Sanders also looked at Angel with some puzzlement. Although the Tree Spirit had cautioned Angel to try not to trade the Sea Rhythm, the House of the Heart was on the same level as the Sea Rhythm, so trading it was not a bad deal.

”I do not major in Heart Illusions; it is of no use to me,” Angel responded with an expressionless face, though inwardly he was wryly smiling.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want it; it’s just that he couldn’t trade the Sea Rhythm.

The Sea Rhythm was refined for Lady Mirror... Of course, he could refine something else for Lady Mirror. However, what’s most important is that the Sea Rhythm contains customized benefits specifically for Lady Mirror.

It included too many images of big shots from the Wizards’ Realm, and if those were to be discovered by others, he would probably no longer be able to fit in.

It was for this reason that Angel had no choice but to decline.

”But the Sea Rhythm wouldn’t be of much use to you either, would it? I think a trade would be good for both sides,” Sangye still didn’t give up and continued to persuade.

”Madness can sometimes even hinder the path to advancement; you might want to consider that,” Kanter couldn’t help but chime in at this moment. His words were true, but his heart also harbored some thoughts. If Angel were to trade with Sangye, then perhaps he could borrow the House of the Heart and arrange it for Qi Li, who was heavily burdened by her inner demons.

Sanders didn’t really care; although he didn’t understand why Angel chose not to trade, it was ultimately Angel’s property, and he had the right to decide what to do with it.

However, Sanders thought for a moment and added, ”The House of the Heart is actually quite good.”

”Lord Illusion Demon and Lady Nya both say so, perhaps the Transcendental Wizard should consider it a bit more?” Sangye said again.

Angel glanced at Sanders; it sounded as though Sanders was persuading him to trade, but Angel detected something different in Sanders’s tone, as if there was something fishy.

Angel fell into deep contemplation.

In Sangye’s view, Angel seemed to hesitate about whether to trade or not, and she breathed a slight sigh of relief, genuinely not wanting this trade to fall through.

However, what Sangye didn’t understand was that Angel had already made up his mind not to trade; what he was mulling over was Sanders’s strange attitude.

While Angel was reflecting, Qi Li, standing at a distance, quietly watched this scene unfold. She hadn’t forgotten the times she spent with Angel in the Purification Garden. Back then, they were in a stage of mutual assistance, but now... the disparity was too great.

Qi Li lowered her head and touched Luna, who had somehow come to her side, and sighed softly.

The silence in the air did not last long; soon, Angel returned to his senses. When he spoke again, his tone wasn’t as cold as before.

”I am still inclined not to trade,” Angel’s first sentence already cooled Sangye’s heart by half, but the next second Angel’s tone shifted: ”However, since the Mentor has suggested it, I have reevaluated the trade.”

”I cannot make a decision on whether to trade at the moment. However, I do have a small request.”

Sangye: ”Please speak.”

”I want to experience this House of the Heart, at least let me know its true effects before I can decide whether to make the exchange,” Angel paused, and as Sangye’s brow furrowed, he added, ”Of course, to be fair, I will also activate Ocean Rhythm and let Witch Sangye experience it. That way, we’ll both have a basis for comparison in our minds.”

Initially, Sangye was resistant to Angel’s proposal, but then she hesitated because of what Angel said.

Indeed, Jiebo’s words were just superficial, and only if she could personally experience the Ocean Rhythm could she determine whether it was worth the exchange.

Moreover, Sangye thought about it carefully. Both the House of the Heart and Ocean Rhythm belong to strategic-level auxiliary items.

The focus of the House of the Heart is not one-time use, but rather its contribution to the entire Illusion Technique; Angel experiencing it once wouldn’t matter. The same goes for Ocean Rhythm: it doesn’t just work for one person but significantly enhances those connected to the sea lineage.

After considering this, Sangye nodded, ”Okay.”

Once Sangye agreed, they immediately prepared for the exchange of experiences. Since Sangye had come alone, to avoid any mishaps during her experience, they needed to sign a contract before the exchange, as a premise for both parties to keep their word.

Angel did not refuse and signed this contract with Sangye.

Because of the contract, Sanders and the others left the hall, leaving only Angel and Sangye at the scene.

Right after, they entered the state of mutual experience.

As red and blue lights shone upon each other, Sangye plunged into the roaring ocean, whereas Angel arrived in front of the door to a tranquil cottage.

Directly in front of Angel was the House of the Heart.

Unlike the model he had seen before, the House of the Heart now stood like a real house at the end of the road, directly in front of him.

Having glimpsed its sophistication before, now that Angel was truly in this environment, his clarity of understanding was even more acute.

A gentle breeze caressed his face, carrying an abundance of floral scents.

There was no trace of Illusion Technique; everything seemed as real as could be.

As Angel observed his surroundings, a shadow appeared on the window of the wooden house. It seemed someone was inside.

It appears that the House of the Heart had already materialized his Extreme Resentment Thoughts the moment he was pulled in here.

Angel was curious—who could the shadow inside be? His Extreme Resentment Thoughts were limited to just a few; which one could it be?

Although Angel was very tempted to push the door open and take a look, he did not do so but rather turned his back to the wooden house and looked outside.

”Thankfully, it’s just an illusion. Even if it’s flawless, it’s not hard to disengage,” Angel murmured softly, slowly closing his eyes. Soon after, a subtle ripple flickered across his body, seemingly distorting light and space.

Quickly, Angel’s figure completely vanished.

When Angel opened his eyes again, he saw Sangye sitting opposite him, eyes closed and immersed in the Ocean Rhythm.

In front of Sangye on the table was the House of the Heart.

Angel looked at Sangye, then back at the House of the Heart, silently muttering to himself, ”Although it’s a bit sneaky, there’s no helping it, the Ocean Rhythm really cannot be traded.”

While thinking this to himself, Angel took out two items from his bracelet.

A Magic Cube Lock that resembles a three-dimensional geometric shape, and a conch filled with a Mysterious Aura.
