Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1622: Section 1623 Tracking

Asaz decided to join Barbie Restaurant, naturally turning to Greya for guidance. So, the first thing to do was to return to the inn they stayed at to pack their belongings.

Greya and Angel also went with them.

However, they didn’t go to keep an eye on Asaz, but rather because the inn Asaz stayed in was close to Mukihara Bar, and they planned to visit Fangling Hall. After all, Greya had promised Allen the day before that she wouldn’t ignore Kavoline’s situation.

On their way to Champagne Road, Asaz also understood that when Kavoline broke into the Void, Sebastian turned her into living ingredients.

No wonder when Sebastian passed by Mukihara Bar earlier, he had specifically mentioned there was a tasty living ingredient inside. Asaz originally thought he was referring to the owner of Mukihara, but it was actually Kavoline he meant.

It was precisely because of Kavoline’s incident that Allen found Greya and thus Greya set her sights on him.

It’s hard to say whether this was good or bad.

A mixed blessing, it seemed like a curse at first, but now being able to join Barbie Restaurant appears to be a blessing to him.

After Greya and Angel had gone to Mukihara Bar, Asaz originally intended to accompany them to apologize in person. However, Greya did not allow him to do so, as the matter concerned the sacrifice of a Demon.

When Asaz was back at the inn packing alone, the Demon, who had been silent for a long while, once again whispered indistinctly in his mind.

”Is she the Gourmet Sorcerer you’ve always admired?”

Asaz ignored it and continued to pack his things.

”She initially planned to kill you. Aren’t you afraid of being in danger at any moment by following her?” Asaz still did not receive a response to his question.

”You humans are really strange. To willingly stay by the side of someone who once threatened you, even relishing the experience. If it were me, I’d certainly find an opportunity to kill her.”

Only then did Asaz finally speak: ”According to your logic, I should be killing you right now.”

”My dear Miloris, when have I ever threatened you?”

”At any time.”

Sebastian laughed: ”Then you’re mistaken, my dear. I am always with open arms, waiting for your embrace. We have shared surnames, after all.”

Asaz sneered without a word, Sebastian’s aim was to make him fall, perhaps out of malice or possibly for some other purpose. But since Asaz chose to persevere, he naturally would not give up halfway.

”Well, although I very much dislike that woman, it’s fine for you to follow her.” Sebastian suddenly lowered his voice, which was already ethereal, and now it whispered like an insect or a fly by his ear: ”She will help you grow and see who truly cares about you.”

The Demon’s laughter slowly faded by his ear. Asaz’s expression remained unchanged as he lowered his brows and continued working on the task at hand.

...

On the other hand, after confirming that this was a trick of the Demon, Greya naturally found a way to free Kavoline from being living ingredients.

While Greya was treating Kavoline inside, Angel took his place in the yard’s training grounds, watching Ganke and Lyon practice combat.

During the time of the New Star Tournament, Lyon’s progress was swift. This advancement was not just in his own strength, but also in his vision.

Nausicaa, Shan, Serum... Each person had been lingering in the Wizards’ Realm for a long time, and they introduced Lyon into the true Wizards’ Realm.

If one were to say that a month ago, Lyon was still a talented Mortal, now he could be considered a qualified Wizard Apprentice.

In Sky Mechanical City, Lyon wasted not a minute nor a second. Including now, after practicing combat with Ganke, he would go climb the Sky Tower. Because the stronger competitors are now focusing on the New Star Tournament, those who are still climbing the Sky Tower are on par with Lyon in strength, and he enjoys the daily battles immensely. Victory not only brings points, but also Magic Crystals to collect—why not enjoy it?

Amidst the ”bang bang bang” of the combat, the door to the yard was pushed open.

The newcomer was Allen, with a face full of worries.

”Allen, you’re back just in time. I just bought some grilled meat, waiting for you to join us,” Shan excitedly waved the bone-in meat in her hand, calling Allen over.

The heavily preoccupied Allen wanted to refuse, but he had promised to be responsible for the meals the previous day and had no excuse to break his word.

He sighed, resigned to pick up the meat and sat by the campfire.

However, Allen’s grilling was clearly off today, with his Sweetfire and Butter Wind techniques failing to succeed even once in the midst of his actions.

Seeing Allen so distracted, Shan couldn’t help asking, ”Still no news about your sister?”

Shan had heard about Allen’s situation and knew that it was his sister’s whereabouts that were causing him concern.

”I got in touch with Grandpa through Signal Tower today, got some news, but... it’s not too good,” Allen explained briefly.

”Eh, your sister went missing in Sky Mechanical City?” Shan was somewhat surprised, ”There are so many Mana Eyes in the sky outside, they should have seen something, right?”

”Glenn is currently helping me to follow up with the Mana Eyes to trace my sister’s whereabouts... Ah, crap, the fire’s too strong!” While Allen was talking, he saw the meat on the campfire giving off a burnt smell.

Yet this burnt smell was not unpleasant; it still had a sweet burnt scent.

However, Allen persisted in discarding the burnt meat, insisting it couldn’t be consumed. Shan secretly tore off a small piece to taste and still found it delicious.

But a Gourmet Sorcerer has their own pride—in the food they make, they do not allow even the slightest flaw.

Allen began grilling again, this time with his full concentration, earnestly preparing the meat.

Shan felt it improper to disturb Allen any further, so she turned to Angel and asked, ”Speaking of which, when did Allen’s sister go missing?”

”During the month of drizzling rain.”

”That time, huh... I remember I had already arrived at Sky Mechanical City. Do you know what Allen’s sister looks like? Maybe I’ve seen her.”

Allen continued to focus on grilling, but he must have heard Shan’s question. Since he didn’t object, Angel lightly snapped his fingers.

An illusion of Irene appeared in front of Shan.

”I thought she would also be a big fatty. But she’s fair and pretty, with a hot figure and, most importantly, so tall... I don’t like it,” Shan, who has always maintained a lolita appearance, muttered enviously.

”Have you seen her?” Angel asked.

Shan shook her head: ”As far as I can remember, I don’t think I’ve seen her.”

Allen, who had been all ears until now, visibly slumped.

Angel was about to dispel the illusion when a voice came from upstairs: ”This woman, I think I’ve seen her.”

Allen instantly looked up towards the second floor.

The speaker was Serum; he was sunbathing on the balcony, holding the Black Classic. He had been listening to the conversation in the yard the whole time, but hadn’t paid attention because he wasn’t well-acquainted with Allen. However, having glimpsed the illusion created by Angel by chance, Serum was reminded of a memory fragment.

”You... you’re sure you’ve seen my sister? Where did you see her?” Allen couldn’t help but ask.

Shan also looked at Serum curiously: ”Are you serious?”

After confirming his memory again, Serum nodded: ”It should be her. On my way to Sky Mechanical City, I saw her.”

”On your way to Sky Mechanical City? You didn’t see her in Sky Mechanical City?” Allen asked, puzzled.

Seem confident, Serum nodded again: ”I was still tens of miles away from Sky Mechanical City, but I could already see it in the distance. At that time, I saw a female apprentice flying over from the direction of Sky Mechanical City. It was her, the one from the illusion.”

”What was her situation at the time? Did she say where she was going? Also, who was she with?” Allen fired off questions like a machine gun.

”How would I ask her where she was going when I don’t even know her?” Serum said with a feeling of helplessness: ”I just passed by her, didn’t pay attention to where she was headed. But looking at her expression, there was nothing odd, it seemed quite relaxed. Also, she was alone.”

After a pause, Serum finished with the last piece of information: ”It was in the early days of the month of drizzling rain.”

That was a month and a half ago.

Precisely the time when Irene went missing.

”If Serum saw Irene then, it means she didn’t go missing in Sky Mechanical City but left the city? However, why would she go outside the city?” Angel frowned.

If Irene had vanished in Sky Mechanical City, perhaps Glenn could have found some trace of her, but according to Serum, she had left Sky Mechanical City.

If she has not returned since then... the world is vast, who knows where Irene has gone?

At this moment, Allen was also somewhat distraught, even failing to notice that the meat in his hand had blackened.

After a moment of thought, Angel said, ”As I mentioned earlier, if we truly can’t find her, when I return to Barbarian Cave, I will have my friend help you with a prophecy.”

At this point, that was all Allen could hope for. He showed a grateful expression to Angel: ”That would be troublesome—”

He was halfway through speaking when Allen saw his communicator suddenly light up.

After reading the message, a glimmer appeared in his eyes: ”Glenn says he has some news. I’ll go right now to check.”

Allen quickly stood up, thanked Angel and Serum again, then turned to Shan: ”I guess we’ll have to talk about the grill after I get back.”

Understanding Allen’s urgency, Shan nodded in agreement.

Allen immediately strode out of Fangling Hall.

Watching Allen’s retreating back, Shan whispered softly, ”I hope his sister is still in Sky Mechanical City.”

If she really left the city, finding her would be quite troublesome.

Half an hour later, Greya walked out from the interior, accompanied by Sinistra.

”Is she awake?” Angel asked.

”The condition of being Kavoline’s living food source has dissipated. A few more days’ rest and she should fully recover,” Greya nodded, continuing, ”I’m leaving now, going to check on Asaz.”

Just as Greya was about to leave, Sinistra suddenly said, ”Lady Barbie, since Kavoline has recovered, I will fulfill the price as agreed upon before. I wonder, what would you have me do?”

Greya glanced at her: ”We’ll discuss that later, just remember that you owe it.”

Having said her piece, Greya left Fangling Hall without giving further attention to Sinistra.
