Chapter 1627: Section 1628: Increase in Strength

Sir Sabel’s stature returned to normal, relieving the researchers.

”The restoration of stature is also a sign of successful suppression of the Demonic Fiend.” ”Once Sir Sabel awakens, we can see if he truly succeeded.”

The researchers’ whispers reached Angel’s ears. For the researchers, they were still not sure about Sabel’s condition, but Angel could confirm through the Ability Tree that the Demonic Fiend within Sabel had been successfully suppressed.

However, Angel was still waiting for Sir Sabel’s awakening. Although the Demonic Fiend had been successfully suppressed, how much of the Demonic Fiend’s power could Sabel harness? Could he still maintain his true self under the temptation of the Demonic Fiend? These needed to be tested.

Sir Sabel remained unconscious for an entire day.

When he woke up, it was already the afternoon of the next day.

When Sir Sabel opened his eyes from the darkness, he only felt a buzzing sound surrounding his ears. After carefully discerning it, he realized that this buzzing sound seemed not to come from outside, but from within him.

However, this buzzing sound only lasted a few seconds, and when Sir Sabel was fully awake, the sound disappeared.

Supporting himself with his hands, Sir Sabel sat up and noticed, once he was settled, that his body seemed easier to control?

Sir Sabel looked at his hands, his expression hesitant. After pondering for a moment, Sir Sabel swung a punch forward.

Boom—

An expected sound of breaking the air echoed through the confined space.

Sir Sabel was able to produce such a sound with a punch previously, but that required exerting force. However, he had just swung a light punch and achieved a sound similar to when he exerted his full strength in the past.

Does that mean, he wasn’t experiencing an illusion? His body had indeed become easier to control, and his strength had increased as well?

Then, a clinking sound of glass tapped into Sabel’s ears.

He looked up and noticed for the first time that he was still inside the observation room. A crowd of researchers was outside the observation room’s glass wall, watching him.

The person tapping on the glass was a young researcher wearing glasses.

”Sir Sabel, how are you feeling now?”

Sir Sabel glanced around; the black fog had disappeared, and the Venomous Sunflower was nowhere to be seen. Given his body’s increased strength, he immediately understood the situation.

—It seems, he had merged with the Venomous Sunflower. His thoughts were still operating normally, indicating that his Fusion was successful.

”Sir Sabel?” The voice outside came again, puzzled: ”Are you alright?”

Sir Sabel showed an embarrassed expression and looked up: ”Sorry, I was just deep in thought. I feel quite peculiar. My body feels very unfamiliar, but not bad. I can feel that every joint in my body seems to have undergone Transformation, and a continuous strength is generating from within.”

The faces of the researchers outside all showed delight. Sir Sabel’s logical thinking seemed fine, and his words also indicated that the Fusion might not have failed.

”Can you fully control your body now?”

”I can,” Sir Sabel clenched his fist, speaking confidently.

”We will send a team in to record data on your body, we hope Sir Sabel will not resist.”

Soon after, a team entered the observation room.

The man walking in front, wearing a Bullhorn Helm, with a scythe in his left hand, was Tullas. This man had some emotional discord with Knight Sabel.

Tullas, accompanied by six researchers, approached Sir Sabel. The closer he got, the more he could feel the surging power emanating. Envy flickered in his eyes, but his expression did not show it.

”You better not move later, these researchers are as timid as mice, just coming in to check on you has them shaking in fear,” Tullas glanced back at his trembling researchers, speaking to Sir Sabel.

The purpose of Tullas’s entrance was to protect these researchers... more precisely, to embolden them.

After all, they witnessed Sabel’s horrifying transformation. Although Sabel looked normal now, who knows if something might go wrong again?

Sir Sabel probably understood the researchers’ concerns, sitting motionless on the chair, letting the researcher carry out the tests on him.

During the test, the bespectacled researcher—Coleus continued to ask him questions.

They were all basic questions, but they included Sir Sabel’s own memories and the deeds he had done in the past.

This was a test of Sir Sabel’s logical thinking and mental memory.

Although Angel and Frode were certain that Sir Sabel had not undergone any transmutation, the experiment definitely required such a predetermined process, which was not only for documentation but also to help the researchers alleviate their shock.

Coleus asked almost fifty questions in one breath, and the answers completely matched their best expectations.

That is to say, the Sir Sabel present, at least in terms of mental consciousness, should be no different from the past.

At this moment, the researcher recording the physical data also completed his work, nodded to Coleus, and then stepped back to the side.

Coleus now asked the most crucial question: ”Sir Sabel, can you feel the presence of Denticulate Kui now? Or in other words, can you mobilize its power?”

Sir Sabel pondered for a moment: ”Let me try.”

Sir Sabel closed his eyes, his thoughts slowly sinking into the boundless darkness. When he reached a state of thoughtlessness, he once again heard the fleeting ”buzzing” sound from when he awoke previously.

Following the trajectory of this sound, Sir Sabel felt his consciousness gradually arriving at a strange space.

This place seemed like a cave, a gigantic monster situated in the center of the cave.

And this monster, was the very Denticulate Kui emitting the buzzing sound.

Sir Sabel’s Consciousness stood in front of Denticulate Kui, the contrast between the tiny and the enormous like that between a giant and an infant. A mere tentacle from Denticulate Kui could have shattered Sabel’s consciousness.

However, Denticulate Kui made no move, not because it didn’t want to, but because it simply couldn’t. A god-like tremendous Authority had completely constrained Denticulate Kui.

All it could do was emit a buzzing sound.

Sir Sabel could sense Denticulate Kui’s anxiety and fear. Clearly, it was extremely terrified of the power constraining it.

”Once the Demonic Fiend is Sealed within you, you’ll be able to use its power,” Sir Sabel remembered Frode once saying this.

Now that Denticulate Kui was sealed within him, could he now use its power?

As soon as this thought emerged, Sir Sabel immediately felt an unprecedented vast power, like an unleashed flood, gushing out from Denticulate Kui’s body.

Sir Sabel exited the dark land of Sealing, and abruptly opened his eyes.

An immensely powerful aura instantly radiated from him.

All the surrounding researchers were so terrified that their legs went weak, the only one still standing was Tullas. However, even Tullas showed shock in his eyes.

In the past, Tullas and Sabel were almost equally matched in strength. In fact, it could be said that if Tullas were to restrain his personality, he might be even stronger than Sabel.

But now, Tullas clearly felt the gap.

Now, when facing Sabel, just the power alone was oppressive to him.

As Sir Sabel released the power of Denticulate Kui, the whites and pupils of his eyes both turned pitch black.

”Sir, Sir Sabel, can you... can you still hear me talking?” Coleus was clearly frightened.

Sir Sabel nodded: ”Don’t worry, I’m fine now. But...”

Sir Sabel paused, then slowly said, ”While gaining power, I also sensed the consciousness of Denticulate Kui.”
