Chapter 1396: Section 1397: Siblings Reunion

Natasha and Kimberly left, and only Angel and Hua Que remained in the quiet room.

“Big brother, I knew you would come back!” Hua Que smiled brightly, expressing a joy that wasn’t like the surface-level politeness Angel showed in interactions with others; it was clear that Hua Que’s happiness was sincere and pure, coming from the heart.

Angel couldn’t help but be infected by this mood and smiled, “You’re so sure? Did you never consider that I might not come back?”

“You would come back because I saw it!” Hua Que said, a faint light flashing in her crescent-moon-shaped smiling eyes.

Saw it? Angel remembered Isabel mentioning that Hua Que was also a Special Soul. At that time, Angel hadn’t inquired further about Hua Que’s Special Ability, because he had already guessed what it might be in his heart.

“Is it precognition?” Angel asked.

Hua Que paused for a moment, nodding her head like pounding garlic: “Indeed, it’s precognition. How did big brother know? Did Lady Isabel tell you?”

Indeed, Hua Que’s Special Ability was precognition.

Isabel had mentioned that the abilities of Special Souls were either inherited from their past lives or formed through fortune after death.

Since Hua Que had stayed in the well after dying, it was unlikely she encountered any fortune. So, the answer was probably the former: she inherited her ability from her past life, the precious Talent of the Baiyuan Clan—precognition.

Angel had actually speculated as much before.

Hua Que had written many cryptic phrases with unclear meanings in her record book, especially the last entry. Besides drawing the scene of herself and Natasha leaving, she also left an ambiguous sentence: “I’ve seen a lot, and I must leave to see more.”

Seen a lot? What could she have seen in the dark, deserted well?

At the time, Angel felt that this sentence sounded particularly like something White Bear Hobson would say.

It turned out his hunch was spot on; Hua Que had indeed inherited her precognitive ability from her past life.

“Lady Isabel didn’t tell me what your Special Ability was,” Angel said, raising an eyebrow with a hint of mischief, “Since you have precognition, why don’t you guess how I came to know about your ability?”

Hua Que pouted, looking a bit aggrieved, “My precognition works sporadically—I can’t get accurate visions about others’ futures, and often random images just pop into mind without significance. And about big brother’s future, I’m even less able to see…”

Because Angel was protected by the Blood Night Shelter, any attempt by Hua Que to foresee things pertaining to Angel largely led nowhere.

Later, the reason she could foresee reuniting with Angel was actually an indirect result of her precognitive ability.

She wasn’t observing Angel at the time, but something about Natasha. However, while watching Natasha’s future, she caught a glimpse of Angel’s figure.

For this reason, Hua Que decided at that moment to leave the deep well with Natasha.

Angel pondered to himself. According to Popota, Hua Que’s precognitive ability was actually quite strong; the fact that she could foresee matters involving the Abyssal Demon God was a testament to this.

The reason why Hua Que’s precognitive ability was weakened now was probably due to the loss of her physical body.

“Can you remember, or see anything about your life before now?” Angel asked.

When it came to matters of her previous life, Hua Que’s expression darkened, and she shook her head: “I still can’t remember. As long as it involves myself, I can’t see any visions.”

Angel thought for a moment, then asked, “By the way, do you still have that silk drawing from the necklace pendant?”

Hua Que nodded, “Yes.”

As she spoke, Hua Que took out the silk from her pocket.

Angel’s immediate focus wasn’t on the silk but rather, with curiosity, on Hua Que’s hands, “You can now interact with the Material Realm?”

Originally, when Angel gave the silk to Hua Que, she couldn’t even touch it—any contact would cause it to automatically pass through her hand and drop to the ground. But now, Hua Que could not only pick up the silk but also keep it on her person as if it wasn’t difficult at all.

“At first, I couldn’t hold it. But one day, I suddenly started seeing some visions of the future, and from that day, I was able to pick it up. However, if something is slightly heavier, I can’t hold it,”

After hearing Hua Que’s explanation, Angel deduced that as she awakened to her precognitive ability, her Soul Force also strengthened, allowing her to affect the Material Realm.

Angel took the silk, then unfolded it, laying it on his palm while Hua Que watched with a puzzled expression.

The silk was small, only the size of a palm. On the silk was a naive painting of a curly-haired little girl with a big smile and a young man with his arm around her shoulders. The girl raised her right hand high, where a bird adorned with a Pattern resembling an eye or a peacock’s feather spread its wings on her hand. The young man’s face on the silk was damaged; it was impossible to discern his face.

The girl in the painting was Hua Que, and the other young man…

Angel pointed to the young man in the painting, “Do you know who he is?”

Hua Que nodded, but then shook her head, “I only know he is my brother, but I have forgotten everything else, whether his appearance or his name, everything about him, I can’t remember.”

After a pause, Hua Que curiously asked, “Big brother, why are you suddenly asking me about this?”

Angel, “Aren’t you curious why I would know about your precognitive ability?”

“Why?”

Angel stretched out his finger and tapped on the face of the youth in the silk painting, “It was him, who told me.”

…

Angel walked out of the quiet room and saw Sanders sitting on the sofa in the great hall, wearing light golden monocle, looking at a thick hardcover book in his hands.

Hearing Angel’s footsteps, Sanders looked up, “Have they met?”

Angel nodded, “They have met.”

As Angel said this, the corners of his mouth curled up in a mischievously amused smile. He had not notified Popota and had directly brought Hua Que into the bracelet.

Angel could still recall the panicked look on Popota’s face when he first saw Hua Que. After a chaotic and flustered moment, Popota covered his face, turned his back to Hua Que, and kept coughing to calm his racing heartbeat.

As for Hua Que, she was stunned the moment she saw Popota.

Her expression was complex, with glimmers of light flickering in her eyes, as if she was recalling many past scenes.

After a long while, Hua Que’s eyes suddenly reddened, and in a hoarse voice that Angel had never heard before, she softly called out, “Brother?”

Angel did not pry into what happened next.

It was their siblings’ time, and Angel did not disturb or intend to spy on them.

Knowing that Hua Que and Popota had already met, Sanders nodded and didn’t continue the topic, but brought up another matter.

Sanders took off his glasses and closed the book, “Isabel sent a message earlier, saying that her preparations are complete, and it’s just a matter of when you’ll go to cleanse the undead.”

“Anytime is fine,” Angel pondered, “Since there’s nothing else right now, why not go now?”

“That works,” Sanders nodded, “I’ll notify them.”

Since Isabel was not in the Soul Realm, Sanders could only send a message to Kimberly, who quickly responded.

“Gather at the Black Forest node in ten minutes.”

It wasn’t long after Kimberly’s message that Natasha came to find them.

“Lady Kimberly asked me to guide the two of you,” Natasha said respectfully.

As they followed Natasha, Angel noticed that the corridors of the entire Soul Realm were filled with witches hurrying by, and their direction was the same as Angel and the others.

Clearly, as soon as Angel decided to go cleanse the undead right away, everyone in Black Castle sprang into action.

From their series of reactions, whether the speed of communication or the large-scale mobilization, one could see Black Castle’s high regard for this matter.

Sanders jokingly teased Angel through the Mind Ribbon, “If you had agreed a few days later, you could probably have pushed Black Castle’s bottom line back and asked for more demands.”

Angel responded with silence… If you knew this would happen, you should have reminded me!

However, since the word was already out, Angel did not intend to back out.

On the way to the node, Angel asked Sanders through the Mind Ribbon, “Has there been no response from Lady Greya?”

Now that Popota and Hua Que have met, their purpose of coming to Black Castle was half completed, with only the meeting with Greya left. As for helping to cleanse the undead, that was an extra item and not included.

“No response,” Sanders shook his head.

“What on earth are they doing?” Angel was somewhat puzzled; from what Kimberly said before, Greya and Felicia were attempting something in the ice cave. What exactly was this ‘attempt’?

Is it related to the recent changes in Black Castle?

“It is said to be a ‘Feast’ that could completely remove the aura of the undead in Black Castle,” Sanders replied.
