Chapter 1191: Section 1192 Artificial Fell Objects

“`

Greerwu’s pupils mirrored the scene.

Aoluxiya’s torso was dislocated, blood splattered, and she split in two from mid-air, crashing heavily to the ground.

Dust settled.

Facing her own creator, or rather, just an insignificant avatar of the creator, Aoluxiya was still defeated, and miserably so.

“Lord Aoluxiya…” Greerwu suddenly collapsed to the ground, his face a picture of dismay and helplessness.

The Lord of the Flameless, high above in the sky, looked down at Aoluxiya, severed into two.

Aoluxiya hadn’t died, she was even desperately trying to sprout flesh from the severed surface, trying to rejoin the two halves.

The Lord of the Flameless said calmly, “Don’t waste your energy; with the little power you have left, recovery is almost impossible.”

Aoluxiya lifted her bloodstained face, glaring at the Lord of the Flameless with venomous eyes.

At that moment, a faint glimmer of light flashed at Aoluxiya’s brows, and the mark of the Fire Relics reemerged. As the mark appeared, the growth of flesh on Aoluxiya’s severed waist quickened.

“I nearly forgot, you have the method of borrowing external power. However, recovery is still impossible… Do you think I would give you the time?” The Lord of the Flameless spoke, looking down at the mutilated flesh in the dust, his palm already flickering with white flames.

As the flame grew increasingly intense, at that moment, an ancient and cumbersome evil presence began to spread from afar.

The Lord of the Flameless whirled around, his gaze piercing towards the source of this spreading aura.

——A deep pit.

Or rather, the deep pit that appeared when Popota was smashed down by the Lord of the Flameless. The ancient evil presence was emanating from within that pit.

Angel and Greerwu, far away, also felt this presence; although it wasn’t as crushing as a physical oppression, its intense evil aura, with a suffocating oppressiveness, felt like drowning, almost to the point of asphyxiation.

“This presence, why does it feel ominously familiar?” Angel murmured softly to himself.

Then from deep within the pit, a chain ablaze with flames, glowing blood-red, slowly rose. As the chain ascended, Popota, already showing signs of “flesh-rot,” also struggled to his feet.

“I won’t die, the glory of Baiyuanians still awaits my restoration… And my sister, she is waiting for me to meet her, I won’t die, I can’t die!” With Popota’s murmuring, one end of the blood-red chain emitted a dense blood qi, and faintly revealed an emblem of a ‘Solar Eclipse’!

“A man-made Descent Object?” The Lord of the Flameless muttered while observing the chain: “Such immense demonic blood qi, it seems you have devoured at least hundreds of demons to complete this Descent Object.”

Popota glared viciously at the Lord of the Flameless, madness flickering in his eyes.

The Lord of the Flameless spoke calmly, “Do you know what a Demon God dislikes seeing the most?”

“It’s something from another Demon God, be it a mark or… a Descent Object!” The voice of the Lord of the Flameless suddenly rose, and the terrifying white flames previously intended for Aoluxiya flew towards the chain.

Popota had already been thoroughly defeated in his previous battle with the Lord of the Flameless. While lying in the pit, he felt his physical body beginning to disintegrate, but he was unwilling to die like this. The only way he thought he could survive was to initiate the ceremony of the Descent Object, using the power at the arrival of the Master of the Abyss to remake his body and to kill the avatar of the Lord of the Flameless. However, the ceremony drew too much attention; as soon as it began, the evil presence attracted the notice of the Lord of the Flameless.

Before the ceremony could succeed, the flare cast by the Lord of the Flameless struck the chain.

A crisp sound rang out, shattering the ‘Solar Eclipse’ emblem on the chain into countless points of light.

With the emblem destroyed, Popota was hit by the backlash, vomiting blood, and once again crashed heavily to the ground.

If only he could hold on a little longer, just a little longer… it could have been a success.

Blood and tears streamed from Popota’s eyes, his face full of defiance.

Seeing this, the Lord of the Flameless said indifferently, “Although I have no love for the Descent Objects of other Demon Gods, I can tell you this: the moment you initiated the ceremony, the Demon God you prayed to was already aware.”

This statement from the Lord of the Flameless confirmed a fact.

The Master of the Abyss had indeed sensed the situation here, but… He had chosen not to descend, that’s all.

That is to say, Popota had been abandoned by the Master of the Abyss.

Now the only thing of value Popota had left was his soul. And since he worshipped the Master of the Abyss, upon death, his soul would inevitably be claimed by the Master of the Abyss. Since the only benefit was already secured without error, why would He bother with a dispute with another Demon God, especially knowing that Popota’s death was certain.

Even though the Master of the Abyss was far more powerful than the Lord of the Flameless, a fight without benefit was completely meaningless to Him.

When the Lord of the Flameless pointed out this truth, Popota’s complexion turned ashen.

The Lord of the Flameless also had no interest in caring what Popota was thinking, he didn’t even bother to finish him off, but instead turned back and walked over to Aoluxiya. To Him, dealing with the ‘naughty child’ was most important.

As the Lord of the Flameless began to approach Aoluxiya, Greerwu finally snapped back to reality, his mouth repeating “don’t” over and over, then frantically, anxiously, staggered in an attempt to run towards Aoluxiya.

Seeing this, Angel didn’t hesitate to grab Greerwu.

“`

In a state of confusion, Greerwu was successfully blocked by Angel.

Actually, Greerwu knew that rushing forward was futile, but even if it was pointless, Greerwu didn’t want to stand by and watch Aoluxiya die.

Greerwu looked at Aoluxiya, who also raised his head and met his gaze.

When Aoluxiya saw Greerwu charging, his eyes flashed not just with relief but more with urgency.

It wasn’t until Angel stopped Greerwu that Aoluxiya finally let out a slow breath.

Aoluxiya looked at Greerwu with pleading eyes, he didn’t want Greerwu to come.

Because if Greerwu came forward, it would only result in death.

Perhaps, after killing him, the Lord of the Flameless would no longer strike at others. After all, to Him, whether it was Greerwu or Angel, both were mere ants.

Even if it meant the ants scuttled to survive, Aoluxiya just hoped that Greerwu would live on.

…

The Lord of the Flameless approached Aoluxiya’s side; earlier when He went to destroy the descent object, Aoluxiya had still not given up hope, the tendrils of flesh at his waist were already beginning to reconnect the severed parts.

If the Lord of the Flameless had come a bit later, Aoluxiya reckoned his body might have been restored.

“Why the rush? Once your ‘Soul’ falls silent, I will mend your body for you, even better than before,” the Lord of the Flameless glanced at the mark on Aoluxiya’s forehead and spoke indifferently, “After all, all these years, you are the first flesh to contain the Fire Relics.”

Bearing the Fire Relics? Aoluxiya felt that something was amiss.

He is hunting me, not because of the so-called ‘betrayal,’ but for… the Fire Relics?

Aoluxiya found it strange, but he no longer had the chance to ask, as the Lord of the Flameless’s hands once again ignited with a burning light!

Just then, a whistling sound crossed the sky, interrupting the Lord of the Flameless’s action.

It was an elemental arrow made of flames that flew from a distance.

However, the Flame Arrow hadn’t even drawn close to the Lord of the Flameless when it suddenly halted in mid-air.

The Lord of the Flameless turned his head to look in the direction where the Flame Arrow originated, only to see Greerwu with both hands pointed towards Him, and visible scorching energy in his palms.

Clearly, this Flame Arrow had been unleashed by Greerwu.

Although Angel had stopped Greerwu’s advancement, Greerwu’s power was intrinsically superior to Angel’s. The reason why he stopped was not because of Angel, but because of the look in Aoluxiya’s eyes.

Aoluxiya didn’t wish for him to do it, so Greerwu didn’t advance further.

However, as he saw the Lord of the Flameless about to send Aoluxiya into oblivion, many scenes involving Aoluxiya flashed through Greerwu’s mind—memories related to Aoluxiya—

Because he had always been unable to mature, Greerwu was extremely discouraged, repressing himself within the clan, spending every day and night contemplating how to mature earlier. It wasn’t until he followed Aoluxiya that, although maturity remained Greerwu’s goal, Aoluxiya, unlike the other Demons of the clan, didn’t pressure him but rather indulged him freely to grow.

The fact that Greerwu had become so “bearish” was also due to Aoluxiya’s laissez-faire attitude.

During the time with Aoluxiya, Greerwu had completely unleashed his nature, and the suppression in his heart vanished. It could be said that it was the most comfortable time Greerwu had in years.

Therefore, Aoluxiya held an extraordinary significance for Greerwu.

Seeing Aoluxiya about to be obliterated by the Lord of the Flameless, Greerwu saw the happy memories of the past turning into dust and vanishing… it was something he couldn’t accept. Even as Aoluxiya’s eyes were stopping him, even as the shopkeeper repeatedly muttered in his ear to exercise patience and self-control, Greerwu still released that Flame Arrow in the end.

Even if Greerwu knew that the Flame Arrow might not have any effect, and might even bring fatal harm to himself, sometimes rational thought can never catch up with the emotions and impulses of the moment.

Indeed, the facts proved that the Flame Arrow couldn’t harm the Lord of the Flameless— it couldn’t even get close to Him.

When the Lord of the Flameless’s eyes turned towards him, Greerwu’s face was fearful, but a flash of hatred gleamed briefly in his eyes.

“Using fire against me, ignorant.”

With the Lord of the Flameless’s quiet words falling, the Flame Arrow, hanging in mid-air, suddenly turned around and shot back towards Greerwu.

The returning Flame Arrow was faster than before, impossible to block.

“No… please…” Blood dribbled from Aoluxiya’s mouth as he murmured softly.

The light from the rushing Flame Arrow illuminated Greerwu’s eyes, filled with fear and despair.

After a violent explosion.

There was a deep pit burning with flames in the original place.
