Chapter 1188: Section 1189 – Land of Divine Birth

Greywdon paused, looking at the Lord of the Flameless who was entangled with Popota, a hint of confusion in his eyes, “I’ve heard from Aoluxiya that the avatars created by the Lord of the Flameless are now able to reach a strength close to that of a Demon Lord. If combined with the power of a Demon God, they could even defeat a Demon Lord!”

“However, this avatar of the Demon God seems to have much weaker strength. Why is that?”

“Could it be that He, like us, encountered an accident in the Void?” Greywdon muttered softly.

Greywdon was simply venting about the series of unfortunate events he had encountered in the Void, but he did not know that, to some extent, he had actually guessed correctly.

It’s just that the Lord of the Flameless did not encounter an accident in the Void but the… aftermath of the Calamity Curse.

However, whether it’s the Demon God Himself or an avatar, whether at the peak of strength or in a trough, it’s not something Angel or Greywdon can have a say in.

To them, either way, it’s an insurmountable mountain.

For now, in this place, the only one who can contend with this mountain is Popota.

And from start to finish, Popota was being overwhelmed, a situation that caused Angel’s mood to sink even further.

Angel’s gaze drifted toward Aoluxiya in the distance. In fact, the root of the disaster at hand was still because Popota had taken Aoluxiya away. If originally Popota had only taken the Primeval Flame from Aoluxiya, perhaps this disaster could have been avoided.

However, it must have been Popota’s plan all along to sacrifice Aoluxiya to the Abyssal Master, so there was ‘no if’. The current situation might have been inevitable even without Toby’s Calamity Curse.

As Angel thought this, his peripheral vision suddenly caught Aoluxiya’s fingers seeming to move…

…

“The Primeval Flame as a key, pulling the boundless Void, leading to the olden times. The glory buried in Asgard shall eventually be unveiled.”

The voice that reached his ears was from the olden days of the divine-favored race, sending an invitation to the future seekers of truth.

Thus, Aoluxiya activated the Fire Relic he had obtained unintentionally, his soul plunging into this lost world.

Aoluxiya knew the situation outside was extremely dangerous, but he could only take a chance. He hoped that the activation of the True Spirit and the True Name could buy some time.

The so-called lost world was actually a strand of olden times preserved in a rift in space-time.

And ‘olden’, refers to the era before the fall of the gods.

It was a magnificent era, where many Demon Gods rose together, pushing the Abyss to an unimaginable height. But at the same time, it was an era of ignorance, and ignorance means that it would eventually be erased.

The truth was exactly so, the olden times had vanished, and the only thing that remained was the image preserved in the rift of space-time.

Even knowing this, Aoluxiya still yearned for that period because it was a time when even the most humble creature could become a god.

Aoluxiya also longed to find his own way out here.

When the Fire Relic transported his soul to the world of yore, Aoluxiya first thought it shouldn’t be too vast. Perhaps similar to the Resurrection of the Witch—Baltica’s Land of Repose, just a fragment frozen in time.

However, as Aoluxiya truly began to explore, he realized that this world was immense.

It completely recreated everything from the glorious former station en route to the Land of Divine Birth, ‘Asgard’.

The current station of glory was merely a vast, debris-filled expanse within the layers of the Abyss, comparable to a realm of ruins.

But the station of glory before his eyes was as bustling as ever, with bizarre civilizations, the fire-favored race, and astonishing mega-cities… None of the cities within the barren plane could compare to the grandeur of the former station of glory; even other phase planes Aoluxiya had visited, such as those of pride, greed, sin, and desire, did not have a city that could match such prosperity.

And this was merely the station of glory, not the true Land of Divine Birth.

Nevertheless, no matter how flourishing it was, it was ultimately just the olden world. Just like Baltica’s Land of Repose, time here was frozen, all splendor preserved in that singular moment, without wind or rain, the air as if stagnant.

In such a vast world, it was very difficult for Aoluxiya to find the path to Asgard.

Moreover, in the station of glory, there were many prohibitions. Although there were no guards watching over it, gaining entry required finding ways to break through them on his own.

It meant that Aoluxiya needed to search for various information within the boundless station of glory, breaking through countless prohibitions, to restore the original path to Asgard.

This was not a simple task, and even for someone of Aoluxiya’s caliber, it would take a substantial amount of time.

Thankfully, Aoluxiya was glad to know that time here should be different from the outside world.

However, without any tools to contact the outside, he could not calculate how much of a difference there was.

The only thing connecting him to the outside world was the Fire Relic on his forehead. However, the relic could only sense the state of the Primeval Flame outside; it could not tell Aoluxiya how much time had passed.

Aoluxiya held the thought that “once the outside Primeval Flame disappeared,” it would likely mean the flame had been seized, and both the True Spirit and True Name had been undone.

Therefore, he had to find the path to Asgard and a way to leave this place before the Primeval Flame disappeared.

Time continued to slip away slowly.

Aoluxiya kept searching in this old-world, and half a month later, it finally stumbled upon a symbol of Asgard. Following this symbol, Aoluxiya spent several months unlocking various prohibitions and mechanisms and found the pathway indicated by the Fire Relics in an unremarkable cave faced by glory.

Aoluxiya was extremely excited.

When it found this pathway, a new coordinate appeared in the mark on Aoluxiya’s forehead, which was the location of the City of the Lost, Asgard, the place Aoluxiya had longed to visit.

This journey’s goal was thus perfectly achieved.

What remained was to leave.

And the pathway before its eyes, to the old-world, was the route back to the real world just by stepping into it.

Aoluxiya could sense that the Primeval Flame was still on its body, meaning that although it had spent a long time here, maybe only a short time had passed in the outside world; perhaps its True Spirit and True Name had not yet been broken.

Carrying this pleasant vision, Aoluxiya stepped into the pathway.

Aoluxiya’s spirit trudged through the dark passage. It knew the exit might be just ahead, but the closer it got to the exit, the more something felt off—a familiar oppression was faintly felt by its spirit.

“This pressure, it’s like… His?” When Aoluxiya came to this conclusion, a sudden sense of dread rose in its heart.

Before the adventure to activate the Fire Relics began, Tandin had suggested it wait for Galal to arrive before departing.

However, Aoluxiya knew well that, although Galal appeared to have a decent relationship with itself on the surface, he was ultimately a servant of the Lord of the Flameless, whose actions were judgements based on the Lord of the Flameless’ affairs.

Its own desire to deviate from the Lord of the Flameless’ path would be considered a kind of “betrayal” to Him. If Galal arrived, he might obstruct its plans.

Therefore, Aoluxiya did not take Tandin’s advice and chose to go its own way.

But now, it did not feel Galal’s oppression; instead, it sensed that of the Lord of the Flameless?!

Could it be that the Lord of the Flameless had come himself?

Aoluxiya froze, a gloomy mood rising in its heart. If He had truly come, could its plan still succeed?

Standing in place was certainly no solution, so Aoluxiya still slowly walked towards the entrance of the passage.

As its spirit was about to return to its place, Aoluxiya heard a rustling sound from outside.

Judging by the sounds, it seemed to be Greerwu and… that human shopkeeper who had posed as an Indigenous Person in the Misty Cabin?

Aoluxiya did not know how Greerwu got involved with that shopkeeper, but from their conversation, Aoluxiya heard them discussing the Lord of the Flameless, their tones filled with resignation and caution, and a hint of despair…

A shadow passed over Aoluxiya’s heart—it seemed He really did come.

Suddenly, the human named Angel asked, “Earlier, the Lord of the Flameless said he would consign Aoluxiya to oblivion. What does that mean?”

Oblivion?

Aoluxiya was stunned.

Not only had the Lord of the Flameless come, but He had also spoken such words?

After a moment of silence, Greerwu said, “Oblivion, it means to extinguish the spirit.”

“Why the Lord of the Flameless would do this, I do not know, but I once heard the Butler Tandin mention that Aoluxiya’s relationship with the Lord of the Flameless was not very good, otherwise Aoluxiya wouldn’t have sealed its True Self, True Spirit, and True Name.”

Regret weighed heavy in Greerwu’s words, as it had often been ignorant of many things due to its past frivolousness.

However, Greerwu’s words indirectly confirmed what Angel had said was true.

He really planned to consign it to oblivion! Aoluxiya felt its spirit waver, and the joy of having found the coordinates to Asgard vanished at that moment.

“If the Lord of the Flameless also intends to harm Aoluxiya, then if Aoluxiya wakes up, will it resist the Lord of the Flameless?” asked Angel.

The voice of Angel reached Aoluxiya’s ears.

It knew that Angel was talking to Greerwu, but Aoluxiya felt as though he was standing before it, posing the question.

Dare you defy the Lord of the Flameless?

Do you dare?

Aoluxiya had no answer, only silently walked toward the exit of the pathway.

As its spirit rejoined its body, it heard Greerwu’s response, “Lord Aoluxiya will surely resist.”

A response without hesitation, doubt, or reservation.

The very next second, Aoluxiya heard Angel say, “He seems to have woken up.”
