Chapter 1177: Section 1178: Primeval Flame Reappears

“`

Whether it was Nitotipu and Yadasai or the human camp, both sides had actually already understood the other’s strengths and capabilities.

Shrouded in a cloud of rain, Nitotipu was essentially invincible, making any attack on it extremely futile. Therefore, Monty merely instructed a group of True Knowledge Wizards to restrain Nitotipu as before, while he prepared to swiftly eliminate Yadasai first.

Yadasai, now besieged by Komodo and Monty, was briefly oppressed to the point of being unable to retaliate.

But if one disregarded Nitotipu’s umbrella, the strongest defense among the seven demons of the Void Tower was actually Yadasai’s.

Even in a defensive position, Yadasai’s thick bone armor still helped it ward off the majority of the attacks.

For a moment, both sides were again stuck in a deadlock.

In the process, some human wizards tried to stealthily bypass the battlefield and strike at Aoluxiya from behind. However, their end was either being affected by stray energy waves or being so suppressed by sheer pressure they couldn’t move, eventually becoming live targets and losing their lives.

The only high-end combatant left unoccupied at the scene was Fafnir.

If Fafnir chose to intervene at that moment, then Aoluxiya would have been easy prey. However, Fafnir was completely disinterested, indifferently waiting on the sidelines for the moment the ‘Birdcage’ opened, with no intention of joining the battle.

The struggle continued, amidst flickering lights and shadows, accompanied by continuous thunderous noises.

In the end, Yadasai couldn’t withstand the assault of two Half-step Legends and was forced to retreat step by step, and with Samantha and other True Knowledge Wizards entangling Nitotipu, it was unable to provide support.

Cracks had begun to appear on Yadasai’s bone armor.

Monty and Komodo’s eyes lit up at this moment, they were well aware that as long as they broke through Yadasai’s defense, it would all be over.

Thus, their offensive became even more ferocious!

Following an exchange of energies, finally, a ‘crack’ was heard from Yadasai’s chest armor.

A mass of web-like fractures began to spread from the center of the bone armor, and bone fragments, like old flaking walls kissed by the wind, began to peel off… the bone armor was in fact Yadasai’s exoskeleton, so any damage to it was significantly harmful to Yadasai.

The light in Yadasai’s eyes gradually faded, and it sighed as it glanced back at the Aoluxiya floating in mid-air.

Yadasai retreated.

Once Yadasai moved out of the way, Aoluxiya behind it was left wide open.

Continuing to chase Yadasai at that moment could have possibly resulted in capturing it. However, Monty and Komodo’s gazes were already fixed on Aoluxiya, and after Yadasai fled, they no longer paid it any heed.

A gold and a red streak of light darted towards Aoluxiya!

Aoluxiya’s doom seemed imminent.

Humming sounds—

A terrifying pressure suddenly descended from the sky!

Without any warning or sign!

All demons and humans alike were enveloped by this pressure! Though void of any killing intent, its power level surpassed all beings present, such that even Monty and Komodo, under this appalling pressure, couldn’t advance a step further.

For a moment, everyone instinctively looked towards the source of the pressure.

They saw that the ‘Throne of Flames’ overhead had completely vanished, with all its flames pouring into the between the brows of the innkeeper. With the disappearance of the flames, it signified that the innkeeper had attained the final power.

In terms of strength and under the scrutiny of the world’s will, the innkeeper was acknowledged!

The new Demon Lord was truly born in that instant!

As the sky’s flames vanished, the outermost Birdcage also began to slowly turn into a Phantom Shadow… It was the finest news for the demons trapped in Lassudral; but for humans, it was the worst news possible.

Once the Birdcage completely vanished, the demons on the outside, having been coveting with malevolence for half the day, were already sharpening their blades in anticipation.

But deterred by the momentum and pressure of the lord’s birth, they hesitated to invade for the time being.

Monty believed that once the pressure eased, the demons outside would surely rush in at the first opportunity!

Monty’s gaze darkened gradually, meaning they were running out of time, and they might only have one chance.

That is, when the innkeeper withdraws the pressure, they must take Aoluxiya away immediately and activate their trump card to leave Lassudral before the demons outside arrive!

If nothing unexpected happened, Monty was confident he could manage it, at worst… even if it meant giving the Primeval Flame to Komodo.

However, sometimes the development of the story is so unpredictable that not even Monty himself could foresee it.

…

Sanders was also immobilized by the pressure and struggled to turn his head to look at Angel in the distance.

Angel was also looking towards the humans at this moment, meeting Sanders’s gaze at that exact instant.

Although it was only an exchange of looks, Angel understood what Sanders intended to convey. Sanders was telling him to follow Fafnir and leave Lassudral as soon as the pressure was lifted.

“`

This had actually been settled back when Sanders and Fafnir first met at the bottom of the Void Tower.

Angel still followed Fafnir to Ice Valley to complete the task given by Odeclass. Afterwards, Sanders would come to Ice Valley to find him.

The reason Sanders conveyed this message once again was because the current situation was far from optimistic.

Angel could also see that once the demons outside the Birdcage broke through, Lassudral would become a land of complete chaos. Humans would definitely be targeted first, and his only way out was to follow Fafnir!

No demon would dare to provoke Fafnir at this time; by her side was undoubtedly the safest place.

Angel conveyed his understanding through his eyes, and when Sanders received it, he nodded slightly, breathing a sigh of relief in his heart.

…

Time was passing.

Everyone, including demons and the shadows outside the Void, were all waiting for the oppressive presence to end.

As the surrounding frozen atmosphere began to ease, the oppressive force that rendered everyone immobile started to recede slowly, like a retreating tide.

Feeling the oppression lessen, Monty immediately set his sights on Aoluxiya, waiting for the oppressive force to disappear completely before executing his plan!

However, at this moment—

A cry of alarm emanated from the top of the tower, and everyone looked up in confusion, only to see a young fire demon who had been hiding in the crevices suddenly pointing at the painting at the top of the tower.

—This painting, naturally, was the one that had created a vortex earlier, from which the innkeeper had emerged.

But after the vortex had disappeared, the painting turned dark again, and the innkeeper began to Ascend the Throne; from that time on, no one had paid any more attention to it.

Yet now, in the midst of the pitch-black painting, a glow suddenly began to emerge slowly from the center.

Furthermore, as the glow grew brighter, it drew a cry of alarm from Greerwu.

The sudden change in the painting even made the innkeeper, who had been growing accustomed to his new power, lower his gaze. When he saw the light appearing on the painting, a flicker of confusion crossed the depths of his eyes.

The memories sealed away were suddenly unlocked at this moment.

Back when Feng had finished painting, the innkeeper remembered thanking him, for the painting could seal away the raging fire in his heart. It allowed him to maintain his rationale, unaffected by other emotions. This was also one of the reasons why he had so quickly risen to become a Lord.

The innkeeper recalled Feng’s reply, “You don’t need to thank me. This painting isn’t just for you; it’s helping me too.”

“Helping you? Why?” the innkeeper asked with confusion.

Feng did not answer, but with a knowing smile, he said to the innkeeper, “You’ll know when the time comes.”

The memory stopped, and the innkeeper watched the new changes in the painting with a somewhat vacant gaze. Although he still did not understand what Feng meant by ‘the painting is actually helping him too,’ he guessed that maybe what was happening now was the thing Feng had been unwilling to speak of?

The innkeeper made no move, simply watching the painting quietly, waiting for its transformation.

When the light finally dimmed, all present finally saw the change in the painting—

There, in the very center of the pitch-black canvas, a small glowing point had appeared. The point was slowly expanding, as if coming from a remote space-time, descending into the painting, and getting closer and closer. Eventually, the true nature of this point was revealed.

It was a pale yellow flame!

And when the flame took shape, it suddenly emerged from the painting.

In the instant the flame transformed from a flat image into a three-dimensional form, all beings present felt a familiar fluctuation.

This was… the Primeval Flame!

“There’s no mistaking it, this is also the Primeval Flame!” exclaimed a wizard wearing a flame magic robe, covetously eyeing the pale yellow flame that stood out of thin air.

“The vibration of this Primeval Flame seems even stronger than the purple-white Primeval Flame that surrounded Aoluxiya before?” This was said by Rivetta, a wind-speaker wizard who keenly felt that the vibration carried by the wind was different from the Primeval Flame she had sensed before.

This pale yellow Primeval Flame, did it contain even greater power?

With this conclusion, everyone present, demons included, looked at the Primeval Flame with greed in their eyes.

As for why a Primeval Flame would suddenly appear, they did not care, assuming it was a remnant from the previous vortex.

Only the innkeeper high in the sky knew well that when he had left that indescribable world, there had only been two Primeval Flames left on him, purple and white.

This Primeval Flame was definitely not brought from there.

And the innkeeper was very familiar with that painting; if there had been a Primeval Flame, it would have been discovered hundreds of years ago.

So the answer was clear; this Primeval Flame was probably the work of Feng.

It recalled that Feng’s paintings seemed able to connect with the planes’ worlds. Therefore, it seemed plausible that Feng could project the Primeval Flame here from afar.

But why would Feng do this?
