Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

”My strength has just improved, and I’m unsure how it’ll fare in actual combat. Plus, I need to test that distant ’Heterospace Assassination Method’ I’ve comprehended earlier, so this battle is absolutely necessary.”

Jia Yan pondered deeply and then naturally clicked the accept button for the frontline task.

This task, truth be told, was witnessed by the Insect Clan Queen herself.

”Oh... does Jia Yan want to complete that task? Well, it’s been some time since he returned, and I’m just about ready to see what level his combat capability has reached. Surely, someone daring enough to challenge the Black Sheep, and even escape a Domain Master Creature’s pursuit, should give me a surprise.”

In her palace, the Insect Clan Queen smiled slightly and clicked to accept Jia Yan’s application.

At this moment, it’s been one to two months since Jia Yan returned, and the team dispatched to investigate afar had already obtained the correct answer: Jia Yan was indeed chased by a Domain Master Creature outside the Central Starfield of the Milky Way and actually managed to escape from the pursuit.

Furthermore, evidence showed that the Domain Master Creature’s power was surprisingly comparable to the Insect Clan Queen’s, even if weaker, not by much, indicating Jia Yan could potentially escape the Queen’s attacks.

Of course, that was only possible under certain circumstances. In any case, the Insect Clan Queen was impressed by Jia Yan’s amazing battle achievements, and now she waits to see if Jia Yan’s strength is as formidable as the legends say.

”Accepted... Did the Queen herself approve it? Wonder if the Black Sheep is aware of me taking this task now; hopefully, he finds out later.”

Jia Yan noticed his task was quickly greenlit and knew it was personally approved by the Insect Clan Queen, so he prepared to set out.

However, as he feared, his rival Black Sheep was at that moment seeing his task application.

”Did this Jia Yan apply to execute a task? Hmph, well, with his endless travels, not much energy left, if he doesn’t do tasks, even coming to the Milky Way’s Central Starfield, he’d be living a tough life.”

Black Sheep’s eyes flickered with an unusual gleam.

Still, with the Insect Clan Queen nearby, who bears fiery golden eyes, if he went overboard, she’d likely not be pleased, possibly causing her to grow weary of Black Sheep himself.

”Since that’s the case, I won’t plot anything sinister. Last time, having a Domain Master act already cast suspicion on me by the Insect Clan Queen, who investigated me secretly. If I overdo it again, she might punish me, regardless of wanting my capabilities. So this time, I mustn’t go too far.”

After some thinking, Black Sheep made a call to a certain network behind the scenes.

...

Jia Yan flew off from his cultivated planet.

”Didn’t expect to part from it after residing for such a short time. This planet truly aids cultivation, almost the best place for cultivators.”

Jia Yan felt a bit regretful parting from his planet.

In reality, this planet doesn’t provide much energy benefit for cultivation; even with some energy absorption modifications, it’s more about psychological comfort. But never underestimate such comfort, as combined with a great environment, it allows a cultivator to focus and cultivate well, enhancing Jia Yan’s cultivation speed by ten percent, which is considered a huge gain, almost akin to a breakthrough.

No wonder so many Strong Ones have high environmental demands. Whether energy-boosting or not, it provides significant mental comfort and helps in regulating cultivation mood.

”However, if the work’s done well, I can return anytime.”

Jia Yan stopped looking and flew away from the planet.

Next, he hesitated a bit, visited the neighboring planet, greeted his old neighbor, saying he’s going on a task and to look after his planet, etc.

In truth, the planet isn’t a house needing attention, not to mention no thief dares to break into the home of a Mid-level Galaxy Existence.

So Jia Yan’s greeting was just to maintain relations with the neighbor.

Having finished the greetings, Jia Yan finally turned his head and left the Energy Circle Territory.

”Huff, back out again...”

Flying in the vast starry sky, Jia Yan carried a backpack and looked back at the enormous energy circle behind him, feeling a bit sentimental.

This one to two-month return to the energy circle felt like a unique safety experience to him.

In the Central Starfield of the Milky Way, where many Strong Ones dwell, Jia Yan thinks that if he survived alone, he would live with constant stress and tension.

However, with fellow travelers having come together to the Central Starfield from afar, his sense of safety significantly increased.

Although he is, unlike other Strong Ones, a countryside dweller from a Starfield slightly farther from the Insect Clan’s Domain, the distance still falls within the Insect Clan’s Domain’s influence range. Almost akin to arriving from the same location to the Milky Way’s Central Starfield, coupled with considerable time spent together, Jia Yan holds a base level of trust in these fellow natives.

”That’s the benefit of having an alliance, even if it’s only just established roots in the Central Starfield of the Milky Way. Knowing them in-depth removes concerns they’ll send an Outsider like me to die or plot against me, so joining the Insect Clan Queen’s alliance wasn’t wrong after all.”

Jia Yan bobbed his head while flying outward.

Before long, the Adisa’s jet propelled him into a warped Subspace Interior.

Though the battle area isn’t far, flying in normal space would take years to reach.

Thus, he had to employ Subspace flight, albeit without needing to reach a ten-degree warp, four-three degrees would suffice.

Once Jia Yan had left for a while, in the starry sky direction of the energy circle, a black shadow emerged from somewhere within Subspace or another space.

This black creature had a sheep-like face, yet was several magnitudes larger than Earth’s sheep, even giant compared to Jia Yan.

It was the Black Sheep.

”Hmph, this Jia Yan dared to accept the task... and just left like that. Not ambushing him earlier, he counted lucky.”

Black Sheep didn’t necessarily want to ambush, but outside the energy circle, a successful ambush was unlikely. After all, the Insect Clan Queen, an immensely powerful Domain Master, isn’t just a fanciful name; he’s well aware that mere thoughts of attack might instantly prompt her arrival and control him, leaving Jia Yan unsucceeded in the ambush while becoming a traitor in reverse, thus losing his leverage.

”Even without ambush, you won’t have it easy...”

Black Sheep gazed at the slight shadow in Subspace from afar, then turned back to the energy circle.

...

Jia Yan seemed unaware of the terrifying black creature’s emergence behind him post-departure.

But he assuredly knew his movements were watched by those with ulterior motives.

”Good, I didn’t sense any incoming attacks.”
