Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1288: Chapter 41 Battle with the Secondary Powerhouse

”Jia Yan! Your Mother Star is a blue planet, hmm, your parents, let me see... that’s not right. How can this be?”

The spectral monster floated while attempting to calculate Jia Yan’s background, but got stuck when it reached his family.

Jia Yan just laughed.

This ghost-like Dignitary had some skills, probably having really figured out what his parents looked like, or rather, what the parents in his heart truly looked like. So, upon seeing that his parents were actually two Earth people, it became quite puzzled.

”How could this be? Why would your past be like this?”

The spectral Strong One was a bit stunned; he indeed had some ability, enough to calculate some of Jia Yan’s past and certain matters.

”That’s not right, every Strong One and everything leaves traces in the river of time, but why are your traces so unusual?”

The spectral Strong One nearly fell to the ground while floating.

Jia Yan approached the spectral Strong One without any change in expression, then he extended his forelimb.

Thud!

The spectral Strong One let out a scream of agony and dropped from the sky.

It turned out that he could not withstand a strike from Jia Yan and was directly injured.

”Jia Yan, well done.” Dignitaries in the audience familiar with Jia Yan cheered for his victory.

The existence of each Venerable Level being was somewhat surprised by Jia Yan’s strength. This blowhard Fighter was one of the better beings within the Tornado Force. What made him unique was that he could deduce small details about a Fighter. Sometimes, relying solely on words, he could make a Fighter suffer utter defeat, even dying, which is why he was humorously called a blowhard Fighter.

But it seemed that Jia Yan was just toying with his opponent, not giving him the slightest chance to exert any effort.

Of course, Jia Yan wasn’t truly fearless of such an ability; it’s just that he wasn’t familiar with the Genius Battlefield, and he didn’t have anything worthwhile to hide. Even if his origin, which was his biggest secret—that he was originally an Earth person who then turned into a Mosquito—was exposed, Jia Yan wouldn’t be afraid.

After all, this is the Genius Battlefield, and they are not familiar with Earth people. What could they do if they found out? In plain terms, his life form has transformed from one type to another, which isn’t odd. Within the Genius Battlefield, there are much stranger Talented Strongmen; this fact is simply not astonishing.

”Jia Yan, I know your secret now. You originally came from the 215 Star Zone...” The spectral Strong One was just about to concede defeat and reveal Jia Yan’s secret.

But before that, Jia Yan flung out his Brainwave Power.

”Uh.”

The spectral Strong One quickly shut his mouth.

He was just about to speak of Jia Yan’s origin which he had just deduced, but a wave of Brainwave Power concealed it, and he dared not talk.

”Sorry for the offense. If you’re free later, we can meet privately.”

Jia Yan apologized to the spectral Strong One and then arranged a meeting with him.

Jia Yan was curious about the ghostly Strong One’s power, which seemed like some kind of magic ability. After all, in this universe, real magic couldn’t exist. However, the ability for this Fighter to do such things must have some underlying secrets or principles.

”Alright, I’ll wait for you at the sidelines.”

The spectral Strong One agreed.

”Jia Yan wins and advances to the next round.”

Jia Yan heard the host announce it from the side, then he stepped off the stage and whispered something to a staff member once he reached the sidelines.

”Uh, are you sure you want to do this?” The official staff member from the Genius Battlefield asked Jia Yan in astonishment.

”I’m sure.”

After receiving a definite answer from Jia Yan, the staff member hurriedly left his post, appearing to be busy with something.

Jia Yan then went to the contestant’s bench, where six Dignitaries were already waiting on the ground.

”Lord Jia Yan, your strength is indeed extraordinary. Although the blowhard Fighter’s strength is not formidable, many Strong Ones can’t overcome his verbal attacks and end up defeated,” the Leopard Monster congratulated Jia Yan.

”This spectral Fighter’s strength is indeed very strange. Do you know what the deal is with his ability? If he can guess the past of his opponents just like that, isn’t that too dominating?” Jia Yan was very curious about the spectral Fighter’s ability. Although it was only at the Dignitary level, he vaguely felt the terror of such power.

”Don’t worry, Lord Jia Yan, his ability shocks everyone at first glance, but in reality, it has a major flaw, which is that it dissipates a great deal of Energy. Moreover, the things he speaks, the past scenes of the opponents he observes, he himself can’t remember. So as long as you stop him from vocalizing those scenes while he’s detecting your past, he’ll forget them after a few minutes. Additionally, for a Strong One, he can only use this ability again after a few months.”

”I see.” While Jia Yan felt much less threatened by the ability after hearing about its flaws, he still found it fascinating.

”By the way, you all have signed up, right? How did the battles go?” Jia Yan noticed that several Monsters were at the contestant’s bench and casually asked.

”Haha, Lord, rest assured, although our strength can’t compare with yours, winning one or two matches is no problem at all,” the Leopard Monster laughed heartily at Jia Yan, showing no signs of defeat.

Jia Yan wasn’t too surprised by this. The power these monsters had shown previously certainly wasn’t on par with his own, but it still surpassed most at the Respect Level in this Star Zone competition.

”Did you see that Venerable level battle just now? Interesting, wasn’t it?”

While Jia Yan was chatting with a group of Dignitaries, inside the VIP box on the high platform, the Blue Lizard Monster became interested as it wrapped its arms around a female lizard.

”Lord, do you find him interesting? It’s rare for a Venerable level warrior to pique your interest. Shall I arrange for him to be in your opponent lineup?”

The Secondary Powerhouse accompanying the Blue Lizard Monster respectfully asked.

”No need, I, an Intermediate Genius, what’s the point of fighting with a Venerable level? Just watch. If he has the strength to fight a Secondary Powerhouse, maybe I’ll consider giving him some pointers,” the Lizard Monster said, though it didn’t actually intend to take action against Jia Yan.

”Indeed, Lord, your strength must be terrifying to him. However, for him to challenge a Secondary Powerhouse with his power, it’s probably impossible...”

The Secondary Powerhouse was about to continue when they heard a Fighter approach.

”Hm? He actually applied to fight a Secondary Powerhouse? How could that be!” The Secondary Powerhouse was slightly taken aback.

It turned out that Jia Yan’s earlier conversation with the staff was indeed an application to fight a Secondary Powerhouse. The previous battle against a Venerable level opponent was just a warm-up for him.

His real purpose was to come to the Outer Star Zone and battle with Strong Ones, looking to enhance his own abilities. Now, of course, he was setting his sights on challenging the Secondary Powerhouses.

Depending on the situation, it’s possible he might even challenge Semi-permanent Star Level Fighters next.

”Oh? He really did apply for a battle with a Secondary Powerhouse? See, I was right!” The Blue Lizard Monster let go of the female lizard and began to seriously consider Jia Yan below.

Meanwhile, Jia Yan on the ground always felt eyes from that room watching him, yet they remained cautiously vigilant without much worry.

After observing Jia Yan for a while, the Blue Lizard Monster in the sky finally felt a sense of combativeness rise.

”It seems this Flying Monster isn’t such a simple being. I really am somewhat interested in giving him some pointers now. Let’s see if he wins this next battle. Trouble you to arrange the weakest Secondary Powerhouse for him; I’m afraid he might lose in one round,” the Lizard Monster commented.

”Understood,” nodded the Secondary Powerhouse who was accompanying this genius Fighter.

Down below in the contender seats, Dignitaries entered the arena one after another, even the five Dignitaries acquainted with Jia Yan took their turns.

But their records slowly began to falter.

After all five lost, the Tornado Force Dignitary Monster familiar to them also lost.

”Lord Jia Yan, our abilities can only take us so far, we hope you will win in the upcoming battles,” a few Dignitaries retreated to the side of the arena and somewhat despondently cheered Jia Yan on.

”Your abilities are already commendable. I reckon in this Star Zone Genius Battlefield, you’re at least upper-middle Venerable level. Moreover, your strength lies in your combined forces; perhaps not even a Secondary Powerhouse would dare to take on your joint power. Don’t be too disappointed,” Jia Yan consoled them.

This group of Dignitaries had performed quite well, in Jia Yan’s view, all being upper-middle Venerable level. If they were in the 215 Star Zone, perhaps they could even make it into the top ten of the Venerable level Star Zone battles.

”Thank you for your encouragement, Lord. But, Lord, why haven’t you stepped into the arena yet? The Venerable level battles are almost over,” the Leopard Monster thanked Jia Yan and then looked curiously towards the sky above the battleground.

There, a massive holographic banner displayed the names of the next Fighters to battle.

But no matter how long he waited, there was no message of Jia Yan’s turn to fight.

”Of course my name isn’t there, because I’ve already declared that I’ll fight a Secondary Powerhouse!” Jia Yan said lightly.

”Uh...”

The few Dignitaries were staring at Jia Yan in stunned silence.

They all knew Jia Yan’s ability, and although they had said Jia Yan could take on a Secondary Powerhouse, they hadn’t really believed he would actually fight one.

Because that is something only the truly talented would do.

”It seems Lord Jia Yan really aims for the stars. Please be careful in the upcoming matches. Although we are a Primary star region, the Strong Ones are still numerous, especially the Secondary Powerhouses, whose abilities are not weak at all. You must be careful when facing them,” the Leopard Monster advised Jia Yan solemnly.

”I know,” Jia Yan acknowledged.
