Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1265: Chapter 18 Struggle Against the Strongest Dignitaries.

This genius powerhouse, who previously held no good feelings towards Jia Yan, admitted his own strength could not compare to Jia Yan’s, but he was still unwilling to accept being surpassed by a newcomer.

However, after the successive battles in the Star Zone genius competition, this early-eliminated dignitary, witnessing Jia Yan sweep through victories even in the eighth battle, now viewed Jia Yan with an entirely different mindset.

Envy, wariness, and joy. It was a mix of complex emotions.

After Jia Yan returned to his seat, the genius powerhouses from the Wu Ci Forces were still watching him, which left Jia Yan somewhat helpless.

Too much of a sensation?

”No! This is only the beginning. I can feel that after battling with so many geniuses, my real combat experience is skyrocketing, and soon my strength will grow even faster, which will surely shock them more. Right now, it’s just an appetizer.”

Jia Yan immersed himself in his contemplations once again.

Coming to the Genius Star Field was like the heavens opening a new world’s door for Jia Yan, where he harbors boundless passion, even feeling that he’s improving every moment.

The battles on the arena were taking place one after another.

Jia Yan went on to fight once more, facing an opponent he had never battled before. But since his opponent had already lost several times, no one believed that he could pose any pressure on Jia Yan, the rising star.

And the result was as expected; Jia Yan effortlessly won, this time not even using forty percent of his strength, but simply thirty-five percent to claim victory.

Finally, the time for the last moment of the individual Lord Level battles approached.

”Alright, the next and final battle of the Lord individual combat is about to begin, which is the battle everyone’s been waiting for—deciding who the strongest Lord will be. Our representative from the Wu Ci Forces is not only a super genius but also the first-ever dark horse in the history of this competition—Jia Yan. He will face the strongest from the Beilans Forces and the top Lord from the previous tournament—Ci Rong in the final showdown!”

”Come up, both of you, the most formidable Lords from the 215 Star Zone, and accept the cheers from throughout the Star Zone.”

Following the Semi-permanent Stellar Level Expert’s announcement, Jia Yan and another dignitary from a distant force slowly got up.

The opponent was precisely that Sickle powerhouse!

As Jia Yan stepped onto the platform, his opponent’s gaze fell upon him; standing up, he slowly moved towards the platform as well.

Ci Rong was the strongest Lord in the previous 215 Star Zone, and he thought he’d be contesting with Black Bear, someone he had fought before, for the top rank. Yet now, he was facing an opponent he would never have anticipated.

A newly emerged genius?

His demeanour appeared rather unconcerned, as he didn’t believe a new face in the Genius Battlefield could pose any threat to him.

Because the enhancement provided by the Genius Battlefield to geniuses was terrifying—if this newcomer could defeat him immediately upon arrival...

Then Ci Rong, an intermediate-level genius, who had spent fifteen years in the Genius Battlefield, thought that his opponent would have to be at least at the top of intermediate geniuses to possibly defeat him!

A Lord just shy of a Senior Genius, how could he possibly come to this insignificant 215 Star Zone? He deemed it impossible, hence Jia Yan could not possibly win against him.

”Strongest of the 215 Star Zone, huh? Let’s see if he can force me to use forty percent of my strength,” Jia Yan thought as he looked at his opponent, his demeanor still composed. After all, his strength in this competition was like a bug, and it was merely a matter of whether he wanted to win.

Two monsters stepped into the ring.

Throughout the viewing platform and the spectator seats, all was silent at that moment; it seemed as though every creature felt the breathtaking pressure of the two formidable genius Lords!

Indeed, if Jia Yan and his opponent were to activate their Brainwave Power environmental control, they could potentially affect the entire spectator area, possibly even causing the death of most of the audience, but the rules would not allow it.

”Okay, now that the two super geniuses have taken the field, audience members, who do you think will win the ultimate championship? You have your Smart Brains for betting, you may now place your bets.”

The Semi-permanent Star Level Expert openly encouraged the audience to place bets, who knows how many he swayed.

A moment later, seeing no further bets being placed, the Semi-permanent Star Level Expert declared the start of the battle.

”Alright, you’ve all been patiently waiting—combatants, let the battle begin!”

Amidst the announcement of the beginning of battle, both Lords did not make a move for an extended period.

The opponent wanted to observe, while Jia Yan was indifferent.

”Heh, it seems not many believe Mister Jia Yan could win against me, with less than ten percent betting on your victory,” sneered Ci Rong, flicking his long sickle arm and then glancing at the real-time betting device by the side of the arena, teasingly speaking to Jia Yan.

Jia Yan looked towards the betting device by the arena, indeed, there weren’t many bets on his victory, only about ten percent or so.

”How they see it doesn’t interest me, nor can it influence the outcome between us,” Jia Yan shook his head.

The opponent was the top contender from the last tournament, naturally commanding great prestige. As for Jia Yan, who had just emerged as a dark horse, it was only natural that few would believe in him.

”So, Mister Jia Yan, do you think you will win?” The sickle-armed monster sized up Jia Yan from afar, surprised to see the composure in his eyes was genuine, he asked.

”Of course. If I didn’t believe I could win, why would I be here?” Jia Yan responded with a smile.

”Alright then, let’s see Mister’s strength!” The sickle-armed monster paced slowly, step by step, advancing forward.

”What is Jia Yan doing, the opponent’s long-range attack power is terrifying, why is he allowing the opponent to approach like this?”

Within the Wu Ci Power, a Lord asked curiously.

Although he also didn’t like Jia Yan, now that the Wu Ci Power has such a formidable Dignitary on the verge of the final step, naturally, he didn’t want Jia Yan to lose.

”The opponent has a long attack range, but haven’t you noticed Jia Yan’s six long limbs? Perhaps those six limbs are also attack weapons.”

Another Dignitary on the side said with some uncertainty.

Plainly speaking, these Dignitaries were already unable to guess what a Respect Level person like Jia Yan was thinking. The disparity in strength was just too great.

However, what he didn’t know was that the Secondary Powerhouses of the Wu Ci Power were also arguing over this issue.

”Jia Yan has never shown that his legs possess long-range attack power; although they are long, long-range attack ability doesn’t necessarily correlate with length. It’s uncertain how he will cope.”

None of the Secondary Powerhouses believed that Jia Yan truly had no contingency plans for the enemy’s approach; they were just waiting to see how Jia Yan would respond.

Ci Rong was steadily closing the distance to Jia Yan.

Finally, he was within striking distance of his sickle arms!

The distance between them was almost a hundred and fifty meters.

A hint of a peculiar glint appeared in his eyes: ”Jia Yan, by letting me close in on purpose, don’t tell me you are underestimating me? Now, watch how I beat you!”

As he spoke, his sickle arm flung with violent force, a sweep of cold light viciously slashing forth.

The speed of the sickle was extremely fast.

At the same time, a force of Brainwave Power directly suppressed the air around Jia Yan, pinning him firmly to the ground.

And the sickle arm, like a shadow following the form, swiftly came crashing down toward the space above Jia Yan’s head, looking as if it was about to strike him, shattering his entire head!

It sounds complicated, but all of this happened in the blink of an eye, unbelievably fast!

A trace of triumph appeared in Ci Rong’s eyes. Although he didn’t believe that a single move could defeat his opponent, especially at this juncture, he did not think Jia Yan was someone that could be dealt with so easily.

But even inflicting some injury on the opponent would undoubtedly be a great advantage.

”All because you’re too much of a genius, you got careless, right!”

Ci Rong fiercely smashed down with his arm; the hundred and fifty meters distance was no issue at all for his lengthy sickle limbs.

And just as a hint of glee appeared on the opponent’s face.

The longest of Jia Yan’s six legs, the rear one, finally moved!

Up until now, Jia Yan had never used his rear legs in combat. Although he often used them for assaults and the like, it was usually in the context of surprise attacks.

But now he actively engaged his somewhat unwieldy rear leg, launching it fiercely in a thrust!

The rear leg’s control was insufficient and lacked precision; even Jia Yan thought it was almost useless except for its strong leaping force.

But now he was actually choosing to test this leg in combat!

Boom!

In mid-air, the lashing sickle arm was blocked by Jia Yan’s thrusting rear leg.

”Huh? This rear leg can actually block my arm!” Ci Rong was somewhat astonished to see his arm blocked.

But this was expected, and he felt that Jia Yan’s rear leg that blocked his first strike was unstable, probably because it was a reluctant and unaccustomed response to a sudden attack.

”Another strike!”

His other sickle arm shot out, aiming to cover Jia Yan’s head.

Jia Yan’s eyes did not show much disturbance; another rear leg sprang into action, blocking the incoming sickle arm.

The opponent’s arms were much more agile than Jia Yan’s rear legs.

What followed was like a clash between two swift blade wielders, repeatedly colliding in the air, emitting a succession of clanging sounds.

At times the opponent’s sickle arms seemed to pierce through space, thrusting from beneath Jia Yan’s belly, and at times they slashed from behind like a wraith.

With only 35% of his strength, Jia Yan was completely at a disadvantage in the ensuing struggle!

”So strong! Not just in terms of strength, but also in proficiency with techniques, and actual combat capability, all far surpassing previous opponents. No wonder he is the strongest Dignitary of the 215 Star Zone.”

Jia Yan narrowly blocked each of the opponent’s attacks; both currently exercised similar evident Power, but obviously, Jia Yan was exerting the control of an initial level Dignitary. That’s why he was in such a sorry state.

Clang clang clang clang!

The sparks struck between the combatants were like two planets colliding, nearly harming the surrounding spectators.

The scene was indeed terrifying!
