Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 403: Chapter 35 Arrival of the Pursuer! [Seeking Official Subscription] _1

Jia Yan had already arrived at an inspection site in his lane, as requested by Gutan. Several workers were on site, performing some basic tests to determine whether the battle pets were in violation of any rules.

During the inspection, Jia Yan’s heart began to flutter with anxiety. His body was strange compared to ordinary battle pets, but to his surprise, the inspectors merely looked at his exterior, verified that he had no weapons or special metallic modifications, weighed him, and let him pass!

Such an inspection was exceedingly simple!

Before long, however, Jia Yan realized the truth. The so-called inspections were more or less formalities. After all, the aliens—who were accustomed to the myriad species in the galaxy—could not conceivably establish unified standards. If there were precise specifications for battle pets, they would all be carved from the same mold, robbing the battles of their thrill.

The inspection likely focused on basics like appearance and weight. It was equivalent to assigning different categories to boxers of different weights on Earth.

Jia Yan, with his size and weight, naturally fell into the highest category. Furthermore, given that he was now representing the three-headed monster, he needed a temporary identification and to handle some battle pet-related matters.

While Jia Yan was busy with these tasks, he saw a similarly colossal creature standing at the entrance of a corridor two kilometers away. It was glaring at Jia Yan, radiating an overwhelmingly formidable aura!

The creature was a two-headed wolf-like monster. Its fangs were much more formidable than any wolf on Earth!

The giant wolf was three- to four-meters long and appeared slightly smaller than Jia Yan. Still, its weight was by no means less than that of Jia Yan’s body.

After all, Jia Yan was an airborne creature; his body couldn’t be too heavy lest it affect his flight. Although he didn’t think a minor increase in weight would significantly impact him, biological elements put a limit on his weight, for better or worse.

”Interesting!” Looking at the unfazed giant wolf monster under his gaze, a faint smile tugged at Jia Yan’s lips.

With a mere glance, he knew there was a world of difference between the giant wolf’s strength and his own. Even in his current, unrecovered state, he could hardly close the gap. The difference in levels was just too drastic!

However, the wolf’s lack of fear upon seeing him was quite unexpected!

Even so, Jia Yan didn’t give it much thought. After all, it was only natural for beings to not always avoid those stronger than them; if they did, nature would turn chaotic. Therefore, it was perfectly normal for a resilient creature like the giant wolf to exist.

”Alright, it’s almost time for your turn. Remember to put on a good show. You and your master have been freeloading off me for a while now, so you’d better not let me down by losing!”

Gutan kept whispering in Jia Yan’s ear.

He glanced at the ferocious giant wolf and seemed to doubt Jia Yan’s ability to win, despite being a giant mosquito.

Jia Yan simply shook his head in silence. If he couldn’t defeat that giant wolf, then there was no point in fighting. Gutan’s thoughts annoyed him, especially since Gutan was unaware that he could speak or that he possessed intelligence rivaling that of sentient beings. If he were to reveal this now, Gutan would surely be shocked. Therefore, Jia Yan decided to maintain his pure battle pet identity in front of Gutan.

Fearing that he wouldn’t see any return on his investment—a substantial expense—Gutan kept nagging Jia Yan. Although he had always found the giant mosquito to be extremely powerful and mysterious, he still worried ceaselessly.

Just as Jia Yan was growing exasperated with Gutan, three creatures entered the stadium through the spectator corridor!

These creatures had short mouths and eyes that shone with a chill, terrifying gleam.

Their movements were full of power and vigor, any strong ones who witnessed them could tell, these three monsters were powerful lifeforms fit for the battlefield!

These were unmistakably the rat-like monsters that had been chasing after Jia Yan and Daphne before!

However, at this time, each of them was wearing the type of clothing worn by the lifeforms in this city-like ecosystem, and one was even dressed like a noble. If one did not know about these three monsters’ previously horrifying and barbaric running rampage on the ground, they would never have guessed such terrifying and brutal creatures could exist!

Where was their barbarism now?

However, these monsters were still emanating a forbidding aura, scaring any approaching lifeforms away from them in absolute terror.

”Squeak, squeak, squeak!” The leading rat monster, looking at the distant competing candidates in the audience seats, let out a fierce scream when it saw the colossal mosquito monster.

The other rat monsters also felt a thrill of surprise. These monsters had been chasing their quarry across great distances, from a large group at the beginning, some scattered, some diverted, some were killed by unidentifiable monsters in the forest, and the remaining three finally saw their target!

They had absolute confidence in their sense of smell, knowing that the big mosquito there was undoubtedly their target!

Looking at the giant mosquito monster, these rat-like beings all had a strange glitter in their eyes. However, after seeing the surging aura around the giant mosquito, these monsters fell silent!

”Squeak, squeak, squeak!!....”

Before long, the leader of the rat monsters, which had seen their target, suddenly made a sound!

A slightly weaker rat monster next to him immediately responded and backed away. In no time, it disappeared in the audience passage.

The two big rats watched the movement of the big mosquito under their strange gaze, seeming to have no immediate plans.

Naturally, Jia Yan had no idea that monster rats had been chasing him for such a long time and were now just watching his moves.

Daphne had long since climbed down from Jia Yan’s body and appeared to be very interested in the aliens on the field!

In the days that Jia Yan spent interacting with her, he discovered that this woman seemed to accept her situation on this planet very quickly. If he, Jia Yan, had been confined for three hundred years on Earth, a place that can be called fetters, he would certainly be as curious and excited about anything on other planets as she was. However, since this woman had such emotions, it relieved Jia Yan. after all, he feared meeting a perfect opponent. A Daphne with normal emotions could make his guard and vigilance relax a little!

Otherwise, whatever Daphne did, Jia Yan would feel like she was calculating him, which was mentally exhausting.

”Alright, competitors, get ready!”

As all parties began to harbor different thoughts, the referee’s command came from not far away!

At this time, the audience also heard the loud declaration from the commentator over the broadcast!

For a moment, whether they were interested in this fight or not, all the lifeforms opened their eyes wide. Even if they did not have interest, they still found the battle between such powerful lifeforms very exciting. Especially when there were injuries or deaths on the battlefield, these lifeforms completely went wild!
