Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

A rumble of thunder welcomed the Chaos which reigned within the business, for her father was an Executive, her grandmother the President, and of course, she was also related to the various secret enchanters, much to her chagrin. The girl, adorned in lavender, white, and courage, stomped towards the various workers, who had finished their breakfast, and had begun their morning routine, many working out a sweat for the morning, others working upon their hobbies, while others had already left to assist the Iyr.

“Good morning, everyone,” Jirot called, her voice full of fervour. She had allowed them a small mercy of leaving them in peace for the first day of the month, but now it was time for her to impose upon them with her presence.

”Good morning, Little Boss,” Fred replied.

Jirot pointed at Fred. “Lead Fred, as always, you are great. Daddy, you must pay him more.”

“We made sure to give everyone some additional silver for nightval.”

“It is not nightval, it is the Twilight Month,” Jirot replied wisely. “Everyone is so lovely, so daddy will pay everyone ten silver for this month.”

“Thank you, Little Boss,” Fred replied, glancing aside towards the half elf, who let out a sigh of relief.

“Since my daughter is showing mercy, what can I say?”

“Yes, I am so merciful,” Jirot stated confidently, peeking an eye towards the triplets, though she decided to show them mercy and left them at peace. Unfortunately for them, Jirot was Jirot, and the girl approached them, her shadow looming over them. The triplets looked up towards her, the girl just a touch taller than the toddlers.

“…”

The triplets remained silent as they stared at her beautiful amber eyes. The triplets twitched as Jirot sighed, and watched her hand disappear into her cloak, placing a small ball of red within Garaeth’s hand, then Owaen’s, then Tristaen’s.

“Here. You must chew them slowly, they are most delicious when you chew them slowly, and if you want more, you cannot, it is not good for you, but if you wish for more, what can I do but give you more, since you are so cute?” Jirot mused, reaching out to brush their hair and their cheeks, tutting to herself, accepting such a truth to heart.

Little Jarot smiled, causing the boys to smile too, each eating the sweets the girl had given them, drooling slightly.

“Ock, how can you be so cute, you troublesome brats,” Jirot grumbled, waddling her way away, her heart aching slightly from how adorable these triplets were.

“Are you five or fifty?” Adam teased the girl, glad she was so tender with the triplets, since he had yet to win their heart away from their father, though such a task was more than likely impossible.

“What can I say?” Jirot replied, looking up towards the sky, her arms clasped behind her back. Her eyes fell upon the workers once more, her eyes darting between them all, these figures who were employees of her father’s business. She stepped closer to her father, reaching up for his sleeve, the girl’s eyes falling to the floor, for these people, they were not Iyrmen, they were Aldish, some of the fine folk that were known as the Aswadians.

“Since my daughter has spoken, the business will hand over a hundred silver to every family for this season.” Adam beamed towards them all, pretending to mishear what his daughter had said, the girl glancing up towards him in confusion, though as she did the maths in her head, she decided not to speak up.

“During the Twilight Month you may rest,” Vonda said, beaming brightly towards the figures, each of whom would never disrespect her, for she was Ray Vonda of Life’s Rose, and even the Aswadians held a great respect for the Order. “The Reavers still roam the land, so you will be required to remain within the borders of the Iyr for the next year as well. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

“Hmph! How dare those Reavers trouble my wife! I’ll have to go out and beat them up!” Adam declared, peeking down towards his daughter, raising her brow towards the half elf. “I mean, I won’t go and beat them up?”

Jirot huffed. “Daddy, if you leave me all alone so soon, I will…”

The fact the girl left the threat unsaid caused a chill to run through the half elf. He reached down to pick her up and held her close to his chest, picking up Jarot, for he needed his son’s support to melt the chill within his heart.

“I suppose I’ll have to let them rampage through the land for the next year too?”

Jirot furrowed her brows, looking towards her mother, noting the look within her eyes. “Daddy! How can you say this? You, you have to stay here and you must beat them up!”

“I see…”

“You silly daddy, how can you say this?” Jirot asked, wrapping her arms around his neck, her breath tickling his neck.

‘It seems I have to stay and beat them up?’ Adam thought. ‘I guess once we all head out next year, I can beat them up?’

Konarot, Kirot, and Karot each approached the triplets, meanwhile their younger sister imposed herself among the other businessfolk.

“Is my daddy bullying you?” the girl asked, staring up towards Rick.

“No.”

“If he does, you must tell me, and I will sort him out, okay, Lead Rick?”

“Okay.”

“Lead Rick is always so wise,” the girl, glancing aside towards Harriet, noticing the awkwardness within her eyes, so the girl approached the others, reaching up a fist towards Cobra, who brought a fist to bump hers. “Are you okay?”

“Yes.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“Then why are you not married?” Jirot accused.

Cobra coughed, almost choking on her saliva. “Little Boss?”

“Jirot, you cannot say such things to someone who you outrank,” Adam said, reaching down to pinch the girl’s cheek.

“What? I am just asking, I am just asking, daddy!”

“Even so, we must be careful, since we outrank many, that we can’t say such inappropriate things,” Adam warned, his tone far more serious than usual, causing even the girl to hold his gaze.

“They have to listen because I am the Little Boss!” Jirot replied, though her voice was not quite so confident, for her father spoke in such a way. It was not scary, exactly, but it was not like the fool of a father she was so used to.

“We cannot impose upon people in their private lives, or we risk becoming as evil as the Aldish,” Adam said, holding the girl’s gaze, causing her to cling onto his sleeve tighter.

“Okay, daddy, I am sorry.”

“Should you be apologising to me?”

“Sorry, Lead Cobra, sorry,” the girl said, reaching out a hand to hold Cobra’s for a moment. “You can take your time, and I will still spoil your children.”

“Thank you…” Cobra’s response was filled with an awkwardness, though not quite the awkwardness even she had expected. Cobra had been so busy surviving in East Port that the thought of marriage was at the back of her mind, but now that she was almost officially an Expert, she was quite the prize. Yet, with how much Chaos continued to reign within the land, could she think of marriage?

“Daddy…” Little Jarot called.

“Yes?” the half elf replied.

Jarot blinked, for his father’s eyes were so soft and tender, so the boy flushed lightly and smiled, stepping slightly closer towards his father.

“Oh? Is the Little Boss here?” called a voice.

“Brother Mork, I was wondering where you were,” Jirot admitted, suddenly rushing up to him.

“I was required to assist Bael with his slumber,” Mork replied simply, though now that he thought about it, was he meant to reveal something like that?

“Oh! I can help too!”

“Are you able to summon lightning?”

Jirot blinked, turning towards her father, furrowing her brows. She glanced down towards her hands, clenching them into fists for a moment, focusing her mind on the tingly feeling within her heart. The girl let out a soft sigh, meeting Mork’s gaze. “Not yet.”

“Not yet?”

“When I become the Demon Lord, I must be able to do so,” the girl said.

“Ah,” Mork said, considering how much sense it made. “Yes, perhaps so.”

“If I cannot, I will ask daddy to teach me.”

“Oh? Are you also blessed by Lady Tempest?”

Adam thought back to when he had met the Divine so many years ago, reaching up to his chin. “I suppose? I am more blessed by her siblings, but if I asked, I assume she would be willing to assist me.”

Mork smiled. An awkward, strained smile.

“Although, I am closer to Lord Sozain, Lady Elaveil, I suppose, and of course, lady Arya, who I also owe a great debt to.”

Mork continued to smile, though his lips twitched lightly. As the half elf continued to think deeply, far longer than was acceptable for a joke, Mork’s smile dropped further. ‘Hmm?’

“Yer thinkin’ too deeply,” Tork said, patting his brother’s shoulder. “Little Boss! I have a request of your magnanimous self!”

“Oho?” Jirot stood taller, tilting her head back, so far back she was almost looking down at the massive form of the grey skinned Tork. “What is it?”

“This sword is similar to the blades other businessfolk possess, and I am eternally grateful, but…”

“You are a man of the storm, but not fire, is that it?” Jirot mused.

Tork blinked. “Yes.”

Jirot inhaled deeply, reaching up to her chin in thought, as her father had when thinking of the Divine. “Yes, I suppose that is true. I shall see what I can do.”

Jirot stepped away, leaving a stunned Tork behind, for how did she knew what he was thinking of so easily?

‘Is she a truly genius?’
