Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

Fakrot held the twins upon his lap, his eyes trailing to the side, towards the red skinned boy, who was currently settled by himself, wrapped within bundles of cloth, pretending to be asleep between bouts of slumber. He had greeted the boy lightly, though he had retired early in the day, as his father had almost done so, wrapped in a bundle of cloth and his triplets, all the while Jirot and Jarot spoiled their baba.

“Baba! You see this chonky girl? This is my kako, her name is Amal, and you never will guess it, but what is her age?”

“Is she ten?” Fakrot asked, as the girl inhaled sharply, to respond, furrowing her brows for a moment.

“No, you are so silly baba, so silly.”

“Then… she must be just a year old?”

Jirot blinked. “How did you know? She is one and a half, baba, and a half!”

“Ah? Is that so?” Fakrot smiled.

“It is so amazing she is so big and she is only one year and a half, she is as big as me, and I am now five years old, but look, she is so chonky, and she eats so well,” Jirot said, motioning towards her kako, who was currently snoozing away within Sonarot’s bosom.

“She is really just a year old?” Fakrot asked, realising the girl was slightly more serious than he expected.

“Yes! She is just one and a half!”

“Just one and a half,” little Jarot confirmed.

“Eh?” Fakrot wondered just how much of the world he had missed, for he had retired to meditate roughly around that time, and yet the world had gifted them someone with such a wonderful physique? ‘Should I have returned sooner to claim her?’

“Daddy and papo wanted to adopt her, but nana said she would adopt her, but baba, why can daddy and papo not adopt her? She is so big, she can be two families daughter?” Jirot mused, shrugging her shoulders for the logic was completely sound to her.

“Hmm,” Fakrot replied, considering the girl’s words. “There is wisdom to your words.”

Jirot ran her fingers through her hair, exhausted from her brilliance, patting her baba’s shoulder gently. “I am glad you are back, baba.”

“I am glad too,” Fakrot said, peeking down at little Jarot, who hid from his gaze by looking down at his gloves, then peeked up to find his baba was still looking at him, the boy smiling shyly. Fakrot’s heart sank, realising the atrocious sin he had committed, pulling the pair closer to his chest. “I shall remain with you to spoil you.”

“Baba is so wise,” Jirot said.

“Yes,” Jarot confirmed.

As the festival continued, Adam made sure to play and spoil his young cousins too, and at some point he snuck a peek towards the half elf triplets, though he made no effort to stealth appropriately, especially as he fussed over their food, making sure they were well fed, for they were growing boys.

“You troublesome trio, how could you do something like this to me?” Adam asked, the boys standing before him, blinking at him absentmindedly. “Oh? Do you have such courage because your father is nearby?”

The triplets blinked.

“I suppose you’re all as wise as you are adorable,” Adam said, retreating away from them, having filled his heart with dessert.

“I’m not sure how I feel about the way he leers at them,” Esther whispered.

John remained silent, for the half elf hadn’t done anything too out of the ordinary, or too out of expectations for him, but at the same time, the way the half elf wished to adore them was rather complicated, and John wasn’t certain he could allow such behaviour to manifest, even if it meant he would have to abandon such a dream role, but what was more important than his children?

Towards the evenings, Jirot noticed how her father and her elder siblings would gather together to nap, for they burned so brightly during the day during nightval, and thus grew so dim in the evening, cuddling up with their father once the sky darkened.

“Why is daddy so tired?” Jirot asked.

“Your nana informed me he has worked hard.”

“Nana said it?” Jirot asked, raising a brow.

“She did,” Fakrot confirmed.

“If nana said it, it must be true,” the girl muttered to herself, looking towards her father, who snoozed away.

Once the week of festivities passed, with the children having enjoyed themselves, the next day was Gift Giving, in which the children received a mountain of gifts, with the half elf piling literal silver in front of the children, as well as the other half of the gifts he had kept from their journey out that year.

“Amal, did you think I wouldn’t bring you anything?” Adam asked, though Amal, not quite understanding what her elder brother was saying, reached up to be held by him. Instantly, the half elf surrendered, for she had brought him the best gift, her warm affection.

Jirot eyed up her father, recalling the words of her mother that morning, and though the half elf apologised profusely, he still had to step away, to complete his work.

“A big kiss,” Jirot had negotiated.

“A big kiss?” Adam replied, considering her words. “Since I am at fault, it must be a big kiss.”

Jirot huffed lightly.

“I’m sorry, my dear, but since I’m making your ahm something…”

“You are making something for my ahm?” Jirot asked.

“Yes.”

“If ahm says it is good, I will forgive you,” Jirot assured, though within her heart, she already forgave her father, for her mother had asked. After he planted a big kiss upon her cheek, and she had returned the favour, she watched her father go, her arms wrapped behind her back, staring up at his back, which did not seem quite so large as she recalled. The girl pouted slightly, though forced away the thoughts. ‘Mummy said daddy will play all Twilight Month long!’

Thankfully, her kakos and papos remained with her, though she looked out to spot one in particular, but as always, she was bullying the girl, and was causing such trouble with her absence.

Vonda held her daughter, who was always such a storm, and as the girl sniffled against her bosom, the woman brushed her cheek. Jarot, too, cuddled up within her bosom, and she sat there, with Virot upon her baba’s lap, the girl babbling away noisily towards him.

“Yeah?” Virot asked.

“Yes,” Fakrot agreed.

“Of coas.”

“Of course.” Fakrot blinked, for Virot was so much like her elder sister, it was no wonder the girl spent so much time with her. His eyes then trailed down to Damrot, who smiled shyly, so much like his elder cousins, who the boy called his papas. ‘These are the Mad Dog’s greatsons…’

The last week of nightval passed, Adam having completed many enchantments, and though he had much more to do, what else could he do? Thankfully, Vonda had assisted too, much to Jirot’s chagrin, but Sonarot was sure to keep the girl busy.

Korin yawned, though stood up a little taller, noting the half elf approaching. “Executive, how may I assist you?”

“Although it is not the greatest weapon the business has enchanted, it is acceptable enough for the likes of the Amira to spend a chest of gold,” Adam said, revealing the blade, so finely crafted it was, as though by magic, and it held such a fine enchantment, fit for an Amira.

“A blade the Amira has requested?” Korin asked, clasping it within hand, feeling the great magic rush through his fingers, shuddering lightly.

“I intend to replace it with a better sword later, but for now, please tolerate it.”

“It is a Greater Enhanced blade?”

“It is.”

“Is it not fine enough?”

“How cheap do you think I am?” Adam retorted, furrowing his brows. “So what if it’s probably better than the weapons belonging to the various Orders, for a friend of mine, it is barely acceptable.”

“I shall accept it with an open heart,” Korin replied, chuckling lightly.

“Since I have promised you a better sword, I have a small favour to ask of you…” Adam began, causing Korin to smile, and the Aswadian attached his blade upon his sword belt and began to move, without hearing Adam’s request. The half elf followed him as they returned to the estate, since it was rather obvious what Adam was about to request.

“Ahm!” Jirot called, giggling wildly as she rushed to him, the girl side eyeing her father for a moment, turning to half ignore him. “Have you come to play?”

“Do you not notice anything new?”

“I love your haircut,” the girl confirmed.

“Ah, yes, but I meant something else?”

“Your beard is so well trimmed.”

“Yes, uh, but…”

Jirot blinked, reaching up to her chin deep in thought. “Ahm, are you so courageous only to come visit me to show off your new sword?”

Korin held the girl’s amber gaze, beginning to feel an overwhelming pressure emanating from the tiny girl, as though he was but a tiny squirrel within her sights. “No?”

“Okay, because if you did, I would tell my babo, and then…” Jirot shrugged her shoulders. “Since you have come to play, I forgive you.”

Korin had always thought his niece was such an adorable little troublemaker, but it was today he realised.

She was her father’s daughter.
