Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

“Amira Miriam, you don’t have to worry, those ten Basic longswords, the ten glowing blades, I’ll write them down right now, and you don’t have to worry, even if we’re busy, I’ll make sure they’re added to our schedule!”

“Thank you, Mo,” Miriam replied, for the half elf was almost entirely different, no longer quite as dour, his eyes alight with joy, his smile reaching beyond those eyes, becoming far too bright.

“We might still be unable to complete them before we arrive, but don’t worry, I’ll be sure to take personal responsibility over the matter!”

“I will prepare the gold,” Miriam replied, having not expected so much favour from the half elf. Had she known, she would have prepared the gold immediately, but it was not a great deal of effort, for she was the Amira, and it would only take a simple letter to procure the coin required. Although, instead of silver and gold, she presumed ore would be greater for the half elf, who was both the smith and the Enchanter.

Jurot was glad to see the brightness return to the half elf’s face, there was little which could bring such a smile, but something like this was more than decent. It may not have been what he requested, but it was more than good enough for Adam’s purposes.

‘I should focus on enchanting only a little for the next year, then dealing with everything I need to get done,’ Adam thought, for there was much to do. Thankfully, Kiara was also a Chaos Enchanter, so he would be able to request for her support. ‘I should make it so that I only need to work through the first month of every year, although leaving everything to Kiara…’

Once the business was complete, the half elf and his companions made to leave.

“Amira Miriam, I won’t forget the favour you’ve shown me,” Adam said, with a thought to hand over a silver token, but something like this, it was worth more than just a silver token.

“I am glad you are so pleased,” Miriam replied.

“If there is ever a time you require the assistance for someone as strong as a Paragon, you may send word to me, and I will do my best to assist you,” the half elf promised, holding the woman’s gaze.

“Thank you, Mo.”

The half elf stepped away, making his way through the fine estate, which was apparently owned by the royal family, and returned back to the inn. He had admired it on the way, especially considering how different it was to the other estates within the capital, for it was mostly garden, with a singular, large, multi storied building, similar to the superbloc of the Iyr, within the centre, made of sandstone, covered in tiny tiles and etchings, with several domes atop.

Kal Kachya remained at the Amira’s side, noting how exhausted the Amira and the Crimson Blade seemed. Considering they wished to form greater relations with the half elf, she could assume why they were so tired, especially since he was a queer fellow. However, it wasn’t that their conversation had been exhausting, rather, the plans for the next year would be exhausting for them.

Miriam considered how quiet the Iyrmen had been during their conversation. They had allowed the half elf to speak with her, even so far as offending her greatly often, although she did not mention his disrespect, for it seemed he did his best, though if it were any other person, she may have called him out.

‘Ah!’ Miriam winced.

As the party reconvened at the inn, discussing their next steps, which were to leave pretty much immediately, upon the morning, a figure stepped within the inn. He was figure with hair like copper, eyes as blue as the ocean, skin as dark as night. Tall, lean, handsome, wearing a blade at his side was made of what looked to be silver, adorned in a thick shalwar, and various scarves over his shoulder, and wore trouble upon his face.

“Ah, what fortune!” the figure called, sauntering his way towards the group, smiling brightly. Even seeing the glares of the pair around, he continued to step forward, reaching into his kameez, causing the pair to tense up, but as he revealed the small token, the two continued to eye him up, not yet moving to act. “Ah, before I make a mistake, Mo, you are Mo Adam?”

“It’s rather rude to ask for someone’s name without introducing yourself first,” the half elf replied.

“Forgive me, Mo, for I have misplaced my manners!” The figure laughed, tapping the tiny token atop his forehead, covering one of his eyes, while his pupil turned from round to oval. “I am Nadir, Seneschal of the Sleeping Dragon of Arisa.”

“I am Mo Adam, Executive of the United Kindom.”

“Yes, it is you, the one they call the Crazy Father, and the one who has become well known within the martial circles, for the rumours have spread like wildfire after you defeated Kal Kalim, Elder of Amber, who is not weak, not weak at all,” Nadir said, grinning wide, his teeth like tiny pearls, his incisors slightly longer and sharper. “I have brought a-,”

Zahid stepped into the inn, pausing as he noted the figure standing in front of him, who turned to meet his gaze. Zahid smiled wide, raising a hand. “Nephew, what brings you here?”

“Ahm, I have come to meet with the Mo.”

“Oh? You have business with the Mo?” Zahid narrowed his eyes, but bowed his head, allowing him to complete his task, since there was no need to bother the Sleeping Dragon of Arisa.

Nadir placed down the token, which was intricately designed, with a chip cut into the corner, clearly cut by the blade of someone who was skilled with the blade. “It is your honour to receive such a token, in exchange, it is your duty to gift the good Kal a fine magical blade, suitable to your respect of her.”

Adam blinked, staring at Nadir long and hard for a moment, his head then snapping towards his brother. “Oh, dear brother of mine, what are your thoughts?”

“No dragon, or half dragon, has the courage to threaten any Iyrman with such a token,” Jurot said.

“It is no threat, it is a gift, a gift!” Nadir laughed, smiling even wider towards the Iyrman, for even in his tone, it was obvious he didn’t believe it.

‘If the Sleeping Dragon intends to bully the Mo, I should step in,’ Zahid thought, a good chance to earn more favour.

“How strong is this Sleeping Dragon of Arisa?”

“There are few who could match him,” Jurot confirmed. “She would bow her head to Kal Isam, the Poison Sword Dragon, at least.”

Adam inhaled deeply, closing his eyes. His lips began to twitch into a smile, for wasn’t this token truly the greatest of gifts? The half elf opened his eyes, towards Nadir, who smiled in return.

“Mo, I hope you understand, I am only here to do as the good Kal has requested.”

“Cousin Nadir, there is no need to say such a thing,” the half elf replied, reaching over towards Nadir’s hand, clasping it with one hand, and helping him form a fist to cover the token. “Tell the good Kal, for I am Mo Adam, Executive of the United Kindom, the one they call the Crazy Father, and that though I must leave soon to return home, next year, upon my return, I shall meet with her, and if she has the courage to take a fine magical weapon from my grasp, I shall see it then.”

Zahid blinked. He turned to face towards Uli, who met his gaze, the exhaustion on the Black Lion’s face evident. However, there was something else within Uli’s eyes, something that was not what the Crimson Blade expected.

“I will send word, Mo,” Nadir replied, though he paused a moment. “However, I work for the Sleeping Dragon of Arisa because she is strong, and has shown me such favour. I do not expect favour from yourself, Mo, but I must confirm if you are worthy of my service.”

“Seneschal of the Sleeping Dragon, are you as strong as the Elder of Amber?”

“I am not.”

“Are you able to defeat him?”

“I cannot, for he is so powerful.”

“Then, Seneschal, do not disappoint my brother, for he will draw his axe against you,” Adam said, offering the bout to his brother instead, who stood, before the Seneschal could refuse.

‘I should have spoken up,’ Chosen thought, his heart wincing.

The Seneschal was not interested in fighting with Jurot, though he decided to accept, so as to not disrespect Adam, who the Sleeping Dragon of Arisa had tried to bully. He was fortunate, for he had no idea how close he was to getting blasted by lightning, as Bael opened an eye to watch the fight.

Jurot stood opposite the figure, clasping a shield in one hand, and his axe in the other. It was a beautiful axe, an axe his sister had borrowed to him, since they had left without greater support during nightval.

‘Brother, make sure you win,’ Lanarot had said, in the way that suggested she may not refer to him as brother if he lost.

‘I shall deal with this matter quickly,’ Nadir thought, drawing his silver blade, resting it over his shoulder.

As the pair readied themselves, Zahid had taken the opportunity to watch over the fight. He had wanted to stop the fight, but since Jurot was so eager to fight, what could he do?

“You may begin,” Zahid said, cutting through the air with an open hand.

Nadir’s blade whipped through the air, the silver glowing under the nightval sun, turning into a second blade due to the swiftness in which he wielded the blade. ‘I should buy a slice of cake before I return.’

Nadir jolted awake as the warmth of the healing magic filled him, and the half elf’s face came into view.

“You know, back in Aldland, they have a saying for my brother,” Adam said, his lips forming the most audacious smirk, all the while the confusion filled Nadir’s eyes as the thoughts returned to him. “One strike, one kill.”
