Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

Jurot remained silent, his eyes floating over towards Kitool now and again, though they quickly darted away. He tried to recall the last time he had ever seen Kitool annoyed like this. Though, he supposed it was nothing compared to the exhausted glare within her eyes when she fought off King Merryweather after he failed to hold that monstrous being back.

“This is a really nice sword,” Adam said, staring down at Thunder’s Triumph. He had thought of Ranya when he made the sword, so though the steel was fairly plain, the handle was red, the hilt a disc, and the blade was plain, save for the mark near the hilt, the crosses of the United Kindom within a circle, a plus with an x behind it, except the x were a pair of crossed blades.

“It is.”

“It’s got quite the story thus far,” Adam said, his tone no longer as humour as it once was. He stared down at the blade, deep within his thought, Dunes remaining silent to allow the thought to finish. It was that kind of thought which came to the half elf often, the reason why he would so often find himself ensnared by the words of those who wished to trouble him, and yet if they troubled him personally, the half elf would not fall so easily for their provocation.

“Soon to be three,” Dunes said, his eyes falling upon the blade, a blade that was definitely among the best of the Greater Enhanced weapons across the lands, and yet belonged to a girl who had yet to turn two.

“You can’t give away this sword to anyone, since Ranya is going to have the best sword with the best story!” Adam said, finally allowing the humour into his heart, forcing away the darkness.

“I will not give it up so easily.”

“Don’t give it up at all!”

Dunes chuckled, his eyes falling upon the sword once more. He thought of his daughter, who must be talking so well to her mother, and causing all kinds of trouble, for she was equally as adorable as any of Adam’s children, so she should cause as much trouble as any of them too, although, perhaps not as much as the half elf’s daughters?

“You’re thinking something troubling, aren’t you?” Adam accused, and as Dunes replied with a guilty sigh, the half elf’s brows raised in surprise. ‘Huh? I was only joking.’

Zabir wondered if he could stop this, since certainly, the half elf was begging for death. However, he noted how relaxed the Iyrmen all were, eating the simple soup the Order had cooked for them, tearing off the various flatbreads to scoop up the meat, even Taygak seemed completely at ease, though he supposed he understood why.

No matter how much the Order would want to cause them trouble, the presence of Taygak tempered their reaction, for the rumours had already spread this far about what had happened to the Order of High Garden. However, for though there was certainly an Iyrman who had dealt with Kal Yamas of High Garden, Adam was still just a young man, and though facing Ashuk was certainly amazing, someone like the Full Moon was…

The hours passed and soon the sky turned from blue to purple, and the half elf slipped on his armour, Brother Mork assisting him.

“Executive Adam, if you could show a little mercy…” Mork began.

“A little mercy?”

“Well, you see, I was hoping to… speak with one of the members of the Order,” Mork admitted, clearing his throat lightly.

“What does that have to-,” Adam began, only to groan in understanding at what the Brother was getting to. “Unfortunately, Brother Mork, I think they have quite the thoughts upon men, and well, unfortunately, they decided to bully my cousin, so I’ve got to teach them a lesson.”

Mork sighed, but bowed his head, looking aside to his brother, and shook his head, causing Tork to frown.

‘Tempest take us!’ Tork thought, but he supposed he’d need to give it up, since the half elf wasn’t going to let it slide.

‘Who does this young man think he is?’ the Full Moon thought, the woman drawing her sabre, which gleamed, and as the purple sky mirrored off the magical steel, the blade brimmed with further might, for even those who were shameless waited until the night for their depravities, and thus they would need to defend themselves greater under the stars.

“Hmm,” Adam thought, wondering if he should use Strong Shield again, or another shield, wishing to add to the story for another. ‘I’ll just use Strong Shield, since Asorot must be working hard. That punk, who gave him permission to grow up?’

“Jurot,” Nirot called.

“I know,” Jurot replied, for he could see it, the frustrations that threatened to surface. “Kitool.”

“Okay,” Kitool replied, for as much as Adam was allowed to beat the Full Moon, he wasn’t allowed to kill her, and in his state, it may have come to him accidentally.

‘I really don’t want to see him die in front of me,’ Yasha thought.

John eyed up the beautiful woman who awaited the half elf. Full Moon, they called her, and though she was beautiful, it was the fact she was a Paragon that alarmed him. He recalled the half elf mentioning that he had fought the Grand Commander of High Garden and had alluded to, if not outright saying, that he had killed the man, but…

There was no way that was true.

“Ready yourself, young man,” the Full Moon demanded, her blade whipping through the air, leaving a trail of light, until she held the blade’s point towards him, and the light thick from the minor vibrations of the blade, until it grew slimmer, the blade no longer moving even a millimetre with her breath.

Adam clutched Strong Shield tight in hand, and held the blade over his shoulder, readying himself opposite her. He inhaled deeply.

“Taygak, watch carefully,” Adam said, once more dedicating this battle to his cousin, for he was using a blade.

“Yes!” Taygak declared, while the rest of the Iyrmen had managed to place their bets, including the rest of the business.

Brittany’s eyes remained focused on the half elf, her heart squeezing tight, for this figure was certainly powerful, and with how Adam had struggled to beat Ashuk, it had already begun to crumble the illusion. ‘Please, Executive…’

“Mother Crescent, would you do the honour?” the older Aswadian man asked, he who carried a spear on his back, and was escorting one of his own through the land on business.

Zabir glanced aside, towards Ashmir, who had dared to speak up in front of these women. However, it only made sense, because he was the Lion King.

“I will. Full Moon, are you ready?” Mother Crescent asked.

“I am.”

“Young man, are you ready?”

“Hey, I’m showing you the respect of not holding back, so at least call me Crazy Father or something?” Adam replied, far too casually, having no idea just how much he was flirting with death in this Order of all Orders.

“Mo Adam, are you ready?”

Adam smiled from behind his helmet, since he didn’t need to beat the respect of Lord Sozain into the Order, only the fear of the Iyrmen. He bowed his head. “I’m ready.”

“You may begin.”

Battle Order

D20 + 1 = 2 (1)

The air grew heavy as the Full Moon’s focus sharpened, completely drowning the half elf as her glowing blade whipped through the air, the blade so thin, her slender fingers so deft, her the point of her glowing blade threatened to gouge out the half elf’s eye.

One of Adam’s greatest abilities was his focus, the kind that came from blocking out the rest of the world. Fighting Spirit, which allowed him, for three rounds, to gain Advantage on each of his Attacks, which allowed him to Roll twice and take the higher number. It was one of the greatest ways to all but assure a hit, and though there were other ways to gain such an ability, like Jurot, who could Reckless Attack and do the same, though it also allowed another to attack him in a similar manner, there was also another.

The Order of Five Moons, a small Order of all women, born not in a vacuum, but due to travesties of old. Grudges which were not forgotten, grudges not just by those who worshipped Noor, and grudges not just by those with rounded ears.

Full Moon had sworn her Oaths, those of Vengeance, those which had protected the Order for decades, almost a century, and those she would use to protect the Order for decades longer, if they were finally able to break the shackles of the Grand Malawi.

She struck with the thoughts of Vengeance fuelling her, her blade ready to gouge out the half elf’s eye, for her skill with a blade was only amplified by her ridiculous strength, and the extreme precision of someone able to exert as much strength as she wished.

Unfortunately, there were a large number of mistakes she had made.

Mana: 34 -> 33

Spell: Shield

Defence: 27 -> 32

The moonsabre glanced off the temple of the helmet, the magical force pushing her blade aside, burning her bicep as she reigned control of her blade once more.

“Hey,” Adam whispered in the tongue of the long lived fae, speaking rudely, for he spoke bluntly, his eyes completely focused upon hers, burning with vengeance. “You really shouldn’t have threatened my family.”

I will be posting up the chapters I owe tomorrow so don’t fear about this cliffhanger!
