Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

‘I miss you already, my kids,’ Zabir thought, frowning slightly. ‘Remember to feed them apples, they love apples. The apples from Salamin are the best, but you cannot tell Shafra I said that, or she will beat me.’

Yasha noted her grandfather’s face, the way his beard scrunched up upon the corner, and then she thought of the goats herself, those little bundles of energy which would constantly flee from her, even though she only wanted to cuddle them.

The carriages continued to approach the large spires, though they stopped a few miles away, setting up a small camp for snacks, allowing Kizwolima to rest up before the Order, a convenient excuse to make sure someone didn’t cause trouble.

“No sparring?” Adam asked, pouting slightly. ‘I was going to split the XP for Taygak…’

“No,” Kitool confirmed.

“I guess we’re just going to have to make some deals with magical items then?” Adam said. “Are you familiar with a Moonblade.”

“Yes?” Kitool replied.

“Oh, that exists here?”

“It is lost to time, but the elves once wielded a powerful sabre under that name, millennia ago,” Kitool said.

“Aren’t they just saying that?”

“There is a great reward for it,” Jurot stated. “It is confirmed it has been lost, for the elves have offered treasures which spur even the dragons to search, and they had gone to speak with the elves of old to confirm such.”

“Whoa…”

“You know of their moonsabres?” Dunes asked, fairly certain Adam had never heard of the Order before they had chatted about it, and he had certainly forgotten to mention their weapons, due to the half elf translating for Kizwolima until he couldn’t help but explore her imagination.

“The moonsabres are great weapons, Greater Enhanced,” Kitool stated stated, noted the joke rising to the surface of the half elf’s mischievous eyes. “They strike heavier with the might of light, glow, and may be wielded with great strength or one’s agility. Once per day, they strike greater than a typical Oathsworn’s smite. Between dusk and dawn, such is empowered, and once one reaches Paragon, they grow more powerful, to Legendary Enhanced.”

“Ah? Those sound pretty amazing!”

“There are also lesser moonsabres, those which are Basic Enhanced. They also strike heavily with the might of light, and glow, and may also be wielded with strength or agility.”

Adam calculated the weapons within his mind, believing he understood them. ‘Actually, quite powerful weapons, aren’t they?’

“They would be willing to procure more, for they only posses ten of the lesser, when they wish to possess far more.”

“How many are we talking?” Adam asked.

“As many as they can, even if they do not possess the number of bodies they wish, they may wish to procure more than enough of the blades.”

“This feels a little dangerous, since they probably got those moonsabres from elves, right?” Adam asked, and with a nod of Kitool’s head, he thought for a long moment, in a bout of wisdom. “Let’s offer something similar, but with a cheeky smite each day?”

“Just one?” Kitool asked, her voice firmly pressing upon the half elf’s shoulders, though not oppressively so.

“Just one. It would be bad to disrespect the elves by forging the exact same type of weapon, but a slightly better weapon? It’s disrespect, but now we’re fighting on craftsmanship too. Instead of a charge they can spend, we could do it whenever they strike true. So strike harder with radiant, glow, Strength or Dexterity, and then on each Critical Hit, they deal more radiant damage?”

Lesser Moonsabres (+1)

Deal 1d6 slash + 1d6 radiant damage.

Glow 5m bright and 5m dim.

Finesse.

Deals an additional 2d6 radiant damage on a Critical Hit.

“How much do you think we’d get for those?”

“I will take the lead in this matter,” Kitool replied.

“Make sure you get the money upfront, silver and gold, because…” Adam tapped his ring and raised his brows, the cheeky smirk upon his lips saying more than enough to the young woman.

“I will.”

“Do you know of the Moonblade because you are so handsome?” Dunes joked.

“Something like that,” Adam said, his eyes darting about. “You don’t have to worry about how I know it, since it’s too dangerous to know. Ah, well, I guess I learnt about it while I was in the Greylands?”

Dunes bowed his head, not wanting to hear more about the Greylands since he was certain it was more than just a place to the half elf.

“What? All the lightning?” Kizwolima asked, gasping.

“All the lightning,” Bael confirmed.

“You speak Elementi?” Adam asked.

Bael furrowed his brows. “Yes. Of course I speak Elementi.”

“Oh.” Adam blinked, turning his head towards Mork. “Hey, Mork! You speak Elementi?”

“Nay, I do not, Executive,” Mork replied, holding up his hands innocently. “I tried, but the language didn’t take to me. I know some basic phrases, and religious statements, but…”

“I was just wondering,” Adam said, waving a hand casually, flashing a smile towards the man, before returning back to his thoughts. “Huh. How do you know Elementi?”

“I grew up learning many tongues,” Bael replied, the wild grin upon his face revealing a sinister darkness.

“Why are you grinning like that?”

Bael’s laughter filled the air, Kizwolima also falling into laughter, both laughing at Adam, though Bael slowly stopped, since his laughter came from a much darker place that had affected even Kizwolima. “Kizwolima, if Adam is too busy, you may stay beside me.”

“Okay, mister Bael!”

‘I’m glad we have someone else watching over…’ Adam furrowed his brows towards Bael.

“Am I still suspicious?”

“If you were going to betray me, you would have done so already,” Adam said. “However, when it comes to Kizwolima, I’m more unhinged.”

“Not even after the Iyr had vouched for me?”

“Did they?”

“Ye-,” Bael began, but the thoughts flashed within his mind. “No, never mind.”

“You okay?”

Bael grinned wide in response.

Once they had rested up, the group continued along their way, the sun beating behind them as they approached the gates of the Order, which were made of dark stone, almost black, each large stone engraved with a rune or the symbol of one of the various phases of the moon, carved expertly by hands long taken by time. The towers loomed even taller, the gates, thick, made of some kind of ebony that Jurot and Laygak both admired, which opened to reveal a small group of women, each in black and silver.

The woman in the lead wore black from head to heel, her vestments, though similar to those of Black Mountain, held the slightest hint of purple, and the silver was even brighter. Those she was covered almost entirely, her face remained as a blessing to the world, as dark as the night sky, her eyes silver, her face the kind to cause men to war for, holding the supernatural fae beauty. A silver amulet fell in front of her, shaped in a crescent moon, and at her side she wore a pair of silver khopesh, her figure slim, one assumed, for it was hard to understand as her vestments lay in such a way she seemed to be both the slimmest and yet the thickest woman one might have seen.

As Adam’s eyes darted around, he quickly realised perhaps she was a fae, but she was not the only beautiful woman within the Order, for Adam spotted at least a dozen faces, most also fae, but even those who were not were among the prettiest women he had ever seen.

Dunes elbowed the half elf at his side, smirking slightly, while the half elf flushed.

“Nobby, lower your gaze! You’re a married man now!” The half elf whispered, slapping the young man at his side, causing the wall known as Nobby to instantly glare at the floor, his cheeks flushed red.

Mork’s eyes darted to the side, raising his brows towards Tork, whose cheeks were also flushed, his eyes glazed over with a meekness.

‘So are they your type?’ Mork’s eyes asked.

‘Aye,’ Tork’s flush replied.

‘Lady Tempest, there’s a storm in my heart,’ Mork prayed silently, reaching up to his heart, bowing his head lightly to one side, hoping the Lady of Storms would watch over his heart before he gave himself to the beauties.

Dunes thought about stepping forward, and as Kitool caught his eyes, he shook his head lightly, allowing the Iyrman to take the lead.

“The Moon Mother’s blessings upon you,” the woman adorned the silver vestments stated, and Adam spotted the silver symbols, elongated in Aswadic, seemed to form the words of Moon Mother.

“Moon Mother’s blessings upon you, Mother,” Kitool replied. “We seek shelter for the night, and come with a proposal of business.”

Nirot held up the chest of silver, and though it was only the size of one’s head, the coins were packed near to the brim, easily a few hundred silver, denoting more than enough to pay for their stay and for their Divine.

“Business?” the Crescent Moon replied, though she was not surprised the Iyrmen were so eager to cut to the chase.

“We work for a business which deals in the creation and trade of magical weapons,” Kitool explained.

The four beside her, two in full plate, another in slightly lighter armour, and the last adorned only in vestments, each glanced aside to the Priest, who was technically equal to them, but as the first among equals. As much as they had wished to cause some trouble, it seemed their hands were tied.

I already like this Order, for one reason or another...
