Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 10: New Disciples of the Flying Sword Sect

” The second test of the examination has been completed. Those ranked in the top one thousand will become official outer court disciples of our Flying Sword Sect.” An elder of the Flying Sword Sect who was at the peak of the Core Formation Realm took a step forward and loudly proclaimed the end of this years examination.

”I… I am a disciple of the Flying Sword Sect! I-I will have to tell my family!”

”Sigh… It is over. To enter the Flying Sword Sect, I spent countless resources of the family in the past few years. In the end… I failed to enter…”𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

”To think I wouldnʼt even be among the top ten thousand… Maybe I should just drop cultivation and start up a small farm somewhere…”

The Examination ground was suddenly extremely noisy after the rankings came out. The people on the list of the top 1000 were naturally extremely excited. With simple words like Flying Sword Sect Disciple, when they returned back home, they would receive the attention of countless peopleʼs admiration and envy.

Even some powers stronger than them would not dare to do anything to them because of the Flying Sword Sect standing behind them! Even the Heavenly Sky Kingdoms royal family treated the Flying Sword Sect respectfully, let alone the rest of the powers in the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Those who had no been selected were filled with all kinds of mixed feelings as they stared at the giant ranking screen floating up in the air. Highlighting their failure for all to see.

Among the one who failed the second test, there was no lack of geniuses that had been nurtured by their clans and families with the assistance of countless resources. When they returned back to their clan or families, one could easily imagine how disappointed the clan or family would be towards them after their return.

The resources they had used up were useless and most of the geniuses who failed, had made quite a few enemies back home to get their hands on those precious resources…

However, no matter what they did, the second round of the test had officially ended and there was nothing they could do about that other than blame themselves for their own incompetence.

”Other than those ranked among the top on thousand, there are also some other people! Although they are not in the top one thousand, each of your performances has been seen by the elders of the Flying Sword Sect. Next, Iʼll be calling out the names of those chosen by the elders. But before that, I want to congratulate the ones within the top one thousand on becoming disciple of our sect!”

The elder of the Flying Sword Sect, who had stepped out to announce the end of the second test spoke up again.

His words were like a thunderclap, as countless people who failed to rank among the top one thousand once again lit up with hope.

Even though the trace of hope was extremely slim, it still existed!

As all eyes focused on the elder of the Flying Sword Sect, he slowly began reciting the names of those chosen as personal disciples by an elder of the Flying Sword Sect.

”Yi Feng, Sikong Jia, Leng Yidan, Hou Tza...”

Following this, the elder from the Flying Sword Sect named more than ten people, and those who were named all had an overjoyed smile plastered on their face. They originally thought that they didnʼt have any hope to enter the Flying Sword Sect, but now…

Life was truly full of ups and downs, going from an all-time low to an all-time high in moments.

Qing Chenyi, who was located somewhere in the examination ground clenched his fists tightly as he looked up at the elder reciting the names of those who an elder chose to enter the sect. Maybe they could even become personal disciples of the elder!

Qing Chenyi sincerely wished that his name would appear in the elderʼs mouth next.

”Bai Cheng”

Just as Qing Chenyi focused his attention on the elder, filled with endless anticipation, the name that he had uttered caused Qing Chenyi to be shocked still and he quickly turned around and looked straight at Bai Cheng, who was not far away from him.

”Bai Cheng!? How is that possible! Iʼm far better than him!”

When Qing Chen Yi looked over at Bai Cheng, Bai Chengʼs gaze also shot over a provoking look.

Bai Cheng did not seem surprised at all when his name was called, it was as if he had already expected for it to happen.

”How is it? Iʼve already said that I would enter the Flying Sword Sect.”

Bai Cheng chuckled as he looked at the still shocked Qing Chenyi.

Back in Bright Sun City, Qing Chenyi had suppressed him. When others spoke of him it was mostly to denounce him as a bully or playboy, while Qing Chenyi was the number one genius.

But at this moment, what was Qing Chenyi, the so-called genius?

In the future, he would surpass Qing Chenyi and the gap would only grow larger after he entered the Flying Sword Sect.

”Yi, what do you think? If you agree to marry me, I can help your Qing family. Even though the Black Rose Sect is strong it is nothing compared to the Flying Sword Sect. Do you know why even though I was ranked so low, yet I was still able to enter the Flying Sword Sect? This is because our Bai family and an elder of the Flying Sword Sect are old acquaintances!”

”As long as you agree, I can invite this elder to help your Qing family resolve its crisis and help meditate the matters between the Qing family and the Bai family.”

”So, you entered the Flying Sword Sect through a back door?” Qing Chenyi secretly heaved a sigh of relief inside and snored coldly.

At least he entered the Flying Sword Sect through a backdoor and not because he was better than him!

”So what? Why donʼt you give it a try and see if you can enter the Flying Sword Sect?” Bai Cheng ignored Qing Chenyi. His attention was focused on Qing Yi, waiting for her answer.

”I…” Qing Yi didnʼt know what to do, she know that her decision would most likely affect the Qing familyʼs survival.

Even though she knew that even if she refused, no one would say anything, she still hesitated.

To be honest, she did not like Bai Cheng at all. In the past, Qing Yi would not even have bothered with a random like him.

But now…

Perhaps he, no, the elder of the Flying Sword Sect and the Flying Sword Sect behind him would be the only lifesaving grace left for the Qing family.

”I...”

”Qing Yi!”

Just as Qing Yi was about to speak up, the Flying Sword Sect elder who was announcing the names on the stage called out her name.

”Eh?!”

As soon as his voice had rung out, Bai Cheng, Qing Chenyi and the other members of the Qing familyʼs younger generation and even the First Elder were stunned.

Bai Chengʼs ranking was low. He had even admitted that the reason why he could be selected was that his Bai family knew an elder of the Flying Sword Sect.

But the Qing family didnʼt have any acquaintances in the Flying Sword Sect…

Qing Yi opened her mouth as her little head started buzzing.

Her name… Was it called?

How could this be…

Her performance was ranked amongst the bottom, even lower than Bai Cheng…

”Sorry, I refuse.”

After quickly calming herself down, Qing Yi smiled slightly as she immediately rejected Bai Chengʼs proposal.
