Chapter 1485: Chapter 533: Investor Night 5

The social square was brightly lit, the entire space dazzling as if it were daytime.

A faint scent of champagne and the taste of exquisite snacks lingered in the air, with guests gathering in groups of three and five.

Low conversations, laughter nonstop.

”After the check-in, guests usually come to the welcome cocktail area. This is the pre-warming stage of business networking, mainly to break the ice, catalyze, screen information, and pre-match resources,” Sun Jiayue stood next to Liu Jing, her tone professional and composed, ”Brother Liu, this way please.”

She wore a sharply tailored business suit, her makeup was exquisite, and her gestures exuded the poised aura of an elite in the workplace.

Liu Jing had one hand in his pocket, appearing calm, ”The scale of this event is indeed quite large. It seems the investment circle in Shanghai is indeed quite active.”

Xu Pengyuan knew he was someone with a ”high-profile” nature, and with a smile, responded, ”Indeed, Brother Liu, a representative of industrial transformation investment like you will certainly attract a lot of attention here. Jiayue and I both have some connections, and we’ll introduce them to you when the time comes.”

Sun Jiayue nodded, adding, ”Moreover, many individual LPs are here tonight, and even some family office representatives have come, sharing common topics with Brother Liu.”

Liu Jing raised his eyebrows, quite pleased.

Though he could tell they were flattering him, he indulged in it, finding it rather amusing.

”How’s your preparation going? Any special targets?”

Sun Jiayue lightly brushed aside a strand of hair by her temple, smiling slightly, ”I’ve already made a list, mainly some LPs who might be interested in our fund. Of course, it ultimately depends on the communication effect on-site, which means I’ll have to trouble Brother Liu for help.”

”Haha, let’s go. Since I took the invitation from someone else, naturally I must deliver on my word.”

Sun Jiayue pursed her lips, ”Thank you, Brother Liu.”

In her mind, she couldn’t help but think of Tang Song, and the Lamborghini he drove with VIP invitations.

Instinctively she glanced around but did not spot his figure.

As the crowd became denser, Sun Jiayue spoke up and led the two towards a small circle.

Her gaze fell upon two people.

One was a representative from the Tianhong family office, the other was an LP from Qihang Capital, both of whom were on her list.

The three stood on the periphery for a short while before seamlessly blending in.

Sun Jiayue presented herself very professionally, highlighting her identity while subtly conveying her worth and intentions.

With Liu Jing’s assistance, she introduced the tech fund currently being raised.

Of course, Sun Jiayue did not expect to secure a client in such a short time.

Her goal was more about establishing connections early, taking the opportunity to move around and exchange during the cocktail party, laying the groundwork for future visits.

To her relief, Liu Jing, although somewhat pretentious, was fairly reliable in his work.

Moreover, being genuinely wealthy and from the rich second generation, his manner of speaking and doing things naturally carried a certain flair that made it easy for her to make headway.

In just over ten minutes, after engaging with three or four circles, she had acquired five business cards.

”How’s it going?” Xu Pengyuan approached her, his mouth displaying a slightly smug smile, ”The people I’ve introduced to you are reliable, right? Absolutely more suitable than your high school classmate.”

Sun Jiayue pursed her lips, nodded, and said, ”Thank you, Pengyuan.”

The guilt she felt towards Tang Song lessened considerably.

After all, now that it is October, the fourth quarter is the critical time to dash for performance.

To complete tasks, to avoid being eliminated, she had to go all out.

Everything had to be results-oriented.

Though when they met later, it might be slightly awkward.

At this moment, Liu Jing came over holding a cup of champagne, ”Jiayue, Pengyuan, there are executives from Redwood and IDG over there. How about we get acquainted?”

Sun Jiayue and Xu Pengyuan exchanged a glance, their expressions awkwardly saying, ”Brother Liu, it’s not appropriate for us to approach directly, it’s better if we find an intermediary for the introduction, or wait for the later evening segment?”

”Oh? Is that so...” Liu Jing raised his eyebrows, his expression somewhat displeased, ”What kind of intermediary is needed then?”

He perceived the coded message, which meant he was not qualified enough.

Sun Jiayue pursed her lips, ”Brother Liu, don’t misunderstand, I don’t mean it like that. It’s just that these are truly top figures in the investment circle and they might be more accustomed to formal introductions for establishing connections.”

Xu Pengyuan quickly approached to clink glasses with him, smiling to smooth things over, ”Brother Liu, you know everyone’s quite particular about propriety in such settings.”

Liu Jing was evidently a bit displeased and didn’t chat with them anymore, instead walked into a small circle with his champagne.

Xu Pengyuan opened his mouth, awkwardly standing there.

Sun Jiayue saw this scene and sighed with resignation in her heart.

These rich second-generation benefactors are really hard to please.

The key is, if she truly had the qualifications to socialize with these big shots, why would she worry about fundraising quotas?

Wouldn’t it be better to directly transfer to these top capital consortiums?

That’s her dream!

Currently, she’s only a fundraising specialist at Hengyue Investment, a small-to-medium private equity fund with low brand influence in the industry.

Her identity is highly ”unequal” when facing these top-notch guests during the event.

Only by leveraging public sessions (keynote speeches, roundtable discussions), or utilizing indirect relationships, could she possibly establish communication with them.

After a while.

The voice of the host came over the hall broadcast, announcing: ”Honored guests, welcome to the Investor Night Smart Future event. The main venue is about to open, please follow the staff’s guidance to enter in an orderly manner.”
