Chapter 845: Chapter 368: Qiuqiu and Lingling, Jing Plays with Qingqing

Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Cloudy, 24~32℃.

Shangya Clothing Design Company.

Various kinds of fabric scattered on the desk, stacks of design sketches piled on the nearby rack.

Yao Lingling wore a simple white shirt and casual pants, holding a soft pencil, drawing and writing.

Her hair casually tied up, a few strands fell against her cheeks, focused and carefree.

After finishing the sketches, Yao Lingling let out a deep breath, a joyful smile emerging on her face.

She turned her head and softly said: ”Minmin, the drawing is done, can you help me prepare the fabrics and accessories, we... hey, Mingxuan? No, it’s President Xiao, when did you arrive?”

”Haha.” Xiao Mingxuan winked with a smile, ”I sent Minmin to do data work, I’ve been sitting here for half an hour, I’ve processed 7 or 8 OA applications.”

”Ah...” Yao Lingling said apologetically, ”I really didn’t notice, sorry President Xiao.”

Xiao Mingxuan shook his head and said, ”It’s okay, seeing you work so seriously, as a leader, I am quite pleased.”

”Hehe, thank you, President Xiao!” Yao Lingling giggled, covering her mouth, handed over the design, ”Take a look at my new work, give some feedback.”

Now that the internal reforms of the company are finished, Xiao Mingxuan officially became the director of the Qimeng Brand Business Department.

Mainly targeting women in the workplace with purchasing power, committed to creating high-quality products that target customers need.

As one of the first employees to enter the department, also the least experienced designer, Yao Lingling feels a lot of pressure and is trying hard to prove herself.

Xiao Mingxuan looked seriously for a bit and briefly shared his thoughts.

Although he studied management abroad, being influenced since childhood and with post-graduation intensive learning, he has some insights into fashion design.

The two chatted for a few minutes.

Xiao Mingxuan smiled and said: ”Since the design drafts are finished, you probably don’t have to work overtime tonight. Half an hour till off work, how about going for some lobster and barbecue at the food stall together?”

”Uh...” Yao Lingling hesitated and said: ”Sorry, I made an appointment with a netizen two days ago, I need to go over to her place tonight to buy a second-hand cycling suit, it’s over in West Bridge District, quite far.”

Having bought a scooter, occasionally going on long trips or going home, wearing a cycling suit is definitely safer.

However, her current financial situation isn’t very good, reluctant to buy a new one.

Just like the scooter, she posted a request for purchase in the school’s second-hand trading group.

A girl happened to be selling one in the past couple of days, the key is, her height and weight are similar.

A rare opportunity, she didn’t want to miss it.

”Alright, let’s talk tomorrow then.” Xiao Mingxuan shrugged indifferently, suddenly smiled and said: ”Lingling, let me share a secret with you.”

”What secret?” Yao Lingling’s face instantly showed a gossiping expression, leaning in.

Xiao Mingxuan whispered: ”I just suddenly noticed, you look really beautiful when you focus on drawing!”

Yao Lingling froze for a moment, smiling and said: ”Thanks for the compliment, President Xiao, such kind words, please do say more of them!”

”Haha.” Xiao Mingxuan chuckled, looking at Yao Lingling’s fresh and clean face, picked up the pencil on the table, and seriously wrote on the back of the design sketch: ”I really like it.”

Then he placed the sketch back in front of Yao Lingling, winked at her, stood up, and strode away.

Looking at the four big words on it, Yao Lingling’s gaze drooped slightly, feeling complex.

At this moment, the sound of footsteps approached, ”da-da-da.”

”Lingling.” Li Shumin came close, concerned, asking: ”What did President Xiao just talk to you about, you seemed so happy, I didn’t come over to interrupt.”

Yao Lingling shook her head, ”Nothing much, just talked about the design drafts, by the way, President Xiao wants to eat at the food stall downstairs tonight, you could ask him.”

Li Shumin nodded, then saw the words on the paper, seemed to understand something.

Sighed, full of envy, said: ”Lingling, you really don’t know your luck, such an outstanding rich and handsome guy, with such a great personality, missing him would be a lifelong regret. You have no idea, how many people in our company are eyeing him now.”

To Li Shumin, Xiao Mingxuan is the absolute ideal type.

Good looks, good temperament, future company president...

If one could have a sweet office romance, it would truly be a novel plot coming to life, so romantic.

She did try hard, often initiating chats with Xiao Mingxuan on WeChat, actively approaching him at work.

But all efforts were for nothing, still could feel a huge sense of distance from him.

Backing down, she really hoped her best friend Lingling could make it work with him.

Yao Lingling shook her head, ”We’re just ordinary colleagues, friends, not as complicated as you think.”

Li Shumin pursed her lips, ”Hehe, you used to say Tang Song senior was your good brother, good friend, didn’t the friendship change? You’ve started working on glute exercises for him.”

”Oh my!” Yao Lingling’s face instantly flushed, ”You, naughty Minmin! Talking nonsense!”

”Whether it’s nonsense, you know it in your heart.”

...

After some quiet play-fighting, communicated a bit about the design draft details, it happened to be the end of the workday.

Yao Lingling opened WeChat, clicked on contacts, and left a message: ”Hello sis, I’m off work now, should arrive at your community around 7 PM, is that okay?”

After a while, the phone vibrated.

[Inspiration Design - Cheng Qiuyu: ”I can definitely be home before 7 PM, call me when you arrive.”]

Replied with an OK emoji, Yao Lingling strapped on her backpack, picked up her helmet, said goodbye to colleagues, and went downstairs.
