Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 516: Chapter 280: Boundless Prospects_2 Chapter 516: Chapter 280: Boundless Prospects_2 That could only mean one possibility, someone had helped her!

Zhao Mingying was just a regular small-scale leader, at most acquainted with President Ji, able to strike up a conversation.

As for having a lot of clout, that was unlikely.

The most likely possibility was… Zhang Zihang.

With a father who was a board member, even Ji Qiuyu would presumably have to give him some face.

Among the people she knew, it seemed he was the only one who could manage it.

Thinking of his words from before, Wen Ruan stood up, her expression tense, “In that case, I’ll think it over a bit more and have another chat with President Ji later.”

She didn’t want to owe Zhang Zihang a favor, especially one this significant.

She had to talk to Ji Qiuyu in person and settle things, even if it meant taking a position as a planning team leader at a branch office, it would be more bearable for her.

“This…” HR said somewhat troubled, “Why don’t you wait a little longer? I’m not sure when President Ji will finish the meeting.”

Wen Ruan raised her wrist to check the time, “Alright, I’ll wait here until 5 o’clock. If not, I’ll come back next week so as not to disturb President Ji’s rest.”

Sun Simin is getting married tomorrow.

Tonight, those classmates from out of town will all be coming over.

Sun Simin had arranged for them to stay at the Orange Hotel near Yizhuang Bridge.

Some of her dorm mates were also there, planning to have dinner together in the evening.

“Okay, then I’ll go check the 15th floor first,” HR quickly stood up and hurried out.

Watching the conference room door close again, Wen Ruan let out a long sigh.

Her mind was full of thoughts, her gaze complex.

After a while.

A “knock knock knock” came from the door.

“Come in.” Wen Ruan quickly composed herself and stood up.

She had expected HR or President Ji to come in, but to her surprise, it was an “old friend.”

“Hello Ruannuan sis, long time no see!” Li Jiaxuan’s face was adorned with a sweet smile, and her voice was very pleasant.

The familiar voice and nickname made Wen Ruan’s gaze flicker slightly, “Long time no see, Jiaxuan.”

Li Jiaxuan was a colleague who joined the company a year after her and was someone she got to know after moving into the digital marketing department.

In Wen Ruan’s initial impression, the other party was like a delicate and innocent girl.

A southerner, quiet and demure, tall and slender, fresh and elegant in appearance, seemingly pure and kind.

At work, she spoke softly and demurely, quiet and reserved, often appearing fragile and dependent.

Perhaps because of this demeanor, she was particularly popular among the male colleagues.

Moreover, she had a very good relationship with Zhang Zihang, the then-director of digital marketing.

Both were part of the social media operations team, each responsible for media in their respective areas.

Wen Ruan had always had a good impression of her, and the two had been good friends before.

That is, until that incident occurred, and Li Jiaxuan took over her intended promotion to “social media operations manager.”

It was said that after she left the company,

Li Jiaxuan and Zhang Zihang remained close, and the several department colleagues she had fierce conflicts with became gradually friendly with Li Jiaxuan.

Flourishing in the department.

Wen Ruan was no fool; everything pointed to this “delicate flower” of a colleague as a prime suspect.

However, without evidence, there was nothing she could do but deliberately cut off contact with her.

And Li Jiaxuan, too, never took the initiative to reach out to her, as if by unspoken agreement.

“A couple of days ago, I had dinner with President Zihang, and he mentioned you might be coming back,” Li Jiaxuan said with her harmless smile, “Honestly, I’m really happy for Ruannuan sis, welcome back to our Star Cloud International family.”

After speaking, she opened her arms and gently hugged Wen Ruan.

“Thank you, Jiaxuan.”

The two exchanged some simple pleasantries, reminisced about the past, and the atmosphere seemed to return to how it used to be.

Li Jiaxuan playfully stuck out her tongue and said with a smile, “Ruannuan, it’s Friday today. Tonight, President Zihang and I have plans to go eat seafood. Do you want to join us?”

Hearing her suggestive words, Wen Ruan calmly replied, “I wouldn’t want to disturb you, and besides, I’m not familiar with President Zhang.”

“Oh, okay then,” Li Jiaxuan sighed with a hint of regret and then said, “Ruannuan, President Zihang mentioned before that he wants you to work back at headquarters.

But, considering your past… unpleasant memories, I think it’s quite good for you to stay in the Yan City branch office.

That way, you can avoid any gossip, right? And he’s only recently been promoted to the general manager of the International Cooperation Department, so many people are watching him now.”

Her tea-filled words made Wen Ruan’s gaze turn sharp.

Taking a step forward and looking down at this delicate little flower with a slightly cold tone, she said, “Jiaxuan, you don’t need to scare me with these things. How Zhang Zihang is has nothing to do with me. I make my own decisions, and you can save your worries. Maybe you should spend more time worrying about yourself.”

“Ah!” Li Jiaxuan looked wronged and pitifully said, “Ruannuan, did you misunderstand me? We have such a good relationship, I truly want the best for you, I just don’t want you to be wronged.”

“That was in the past!” Wen Ruan patted her shoulder and said, “Jiaxuan, it’s better to be sincere in life. You’re always pretending, and it makes me want to curse. Do you know that?”

Li Jiaxuan’s gaze flickered, and her slender chest heaved violently a few times. “Wen Ruan, I consider you a friend. I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. You came here just to take advantage of President Zihang’s connections, didn’t you…”

Before she could finish, Wen Ruan interrupted with a cold expression, “Brainless green tea bitch! Seeing you just annoys me! Rest assured, I don’t fancy Zhang Zihang, and I have no intention of competing with you.”

Then, Wen Ruan picked up her bag, pushed past Li Jiaxuan who was blocking the doorway, and strode out.

Li Jiaxuan muttered a few curses under her breath, but her face soon revealed a triumphant smile.

Not fancy Zhang Zihang? Do you even believe that yourself?

Isn’t it just because you couldn’t make it on the outside, couldn’t find a good job, and want to come back?

Anyway, I will absolutely not allow you to return to the Digital Marketing Department, nor will I let you steal my man!

At tomorrow’s wedding of Sun Simin, I will attend with Zhang Zihang, and I’ll make sure your former department colleagues get a fresh look at the current you.

Let’s see how bold you are, daring to return to our Digital Marketing Department?

After Wen Ruan’s departure, she had pursued Zhang Zihang for a long time; they also had a few impulsive moments after drinking, leading to a complicated and ambiguous relationship.

She was also thinking about using her connection with Zhang Zihang to be promoted to the head of the Digital Marketing Department, officially becoming a mid-level executive in the company.

Naturally, she wouldn’t allow Wen Ruan to ruin her plan.

Stepping out of the conference room, Li Jiaxuan casually chatted with a few colleagues from the opposite side.

Just as she was about to walk toward the main entrance,

a series of urgent footsteps sounded.

Following that, a brisk figure appeared from around the corner of the hallway.

A man around 36 or 37 years old, with a handsome and spirited face, tall and slim.

Li Jiaxuan quickly bent down with her colleagues to greet him, “President Ji!”

Ji Qiuyu was vice president at the group head office, responsible for the crucial media operations, holding a very high position within the company.

There were even rumors that he was highly appreciated and favored by Mo Xiangwan and might be transferred to Tangzong Entertainment in the future.

“Squeak—” The door to the small conference room was pushed open.

Ji Qiuyu looked surprised, “Where is Wen Ruan?”

The HR behind him quickly said, “She said she would wait until 5 p.m., she might have gone to the restroom.”

Li Jiaxuan’s eyes fluttered, and she showed a helpless look on her face, “President Ji, I just saw her. Wen Ruan said she had some important things to deal with and has already left.”

“Oh? What thing?” Ji Qiuyu’s gaze fell on her.

Li Jiaxuan pursed her lips slightly, “Sun Simin from the Marketing Planning Department is getting married tomorrow, she’s Simin’s classmate and close friend, so she probably went to help out? I’m not quite sure.”

“Getting married? Sun Simin?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

Ji Qiuyu nodded slightly, showing no displeasure, and turned to walk away.

Since he had missed her due to his own reasons, he decided to first sort out the branch office matters and take the initiative to visit her tomorrow.

Doing so would convey his intentions, as well as win over this promising colleague.
