Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 503: Chapter 276 Wen Ruan and Shen Yuyan Chapter 503: Chapter 276 Wen Ruan and Shen Yuyan June 27, 2023, Tuesday, partly cloudy, 26~37°C.

Yan City, Huayun Center Block B, headquarters of Light and Shadow Media.

Within the office area, a tense and oppressive atmosphere pervaded.

The employees sat at their respective workstations, their expressions serious, their eyes betraying unease and anxiety.

Constant chatter scrolled through the WeChat group.

The company had developed over 15 years and was considered a leader in the advertising and sales industry in Yan City.

However, the main customer base was concentrated locally.

Although there were branches in several first-tier cities, even the largest branch in Imperial City had only more than ten people, without any significant scale.

For them, the biggest development goal at the moment was to branch out.

The emergence of Meigou Technology was undeniably a historical breakthrough.

A top domestic internet enterprise, they had actually secured it!

Not to mention the annual sales volume of at least 50 million yuan.

Once this customer case was completed, it would greatly enhance the prestige and credibility of Light and Shadow Media.

It was a milestone in the company’s development.

Now that the partnership had unexpectedly ended, the impact on the company’s leadership and shareholders was substantial.

The employees also sensed an atmosphere suggesting that a storm was imminent.

“Tat tat tat—” A flurry of footsteps came from the inner office.

Following that, Sales Manager Liang Xiaoli hurried toward the direction of the large conference room.

She was still holding a phone, her voice urgent and panicked, “President Wang, our two companies have cooperated for six years, always smoothly, and we have also witnessed the rise of Chengyuan Real Estate. Please give us one more chance!”

“The rebates and quotes we offer are definitely the most conscientious in the industry, you should be aware of that.”

“Just a moment! I’ll have our President Zhang speak with you personally!”

…

Upon hearing this conversation from Manager Liang, many employees were startled.

Chengyuan Real Estate was a leading local property company in Yan Province, with a positioning in mid-to-high-end real estate committed to building a brand image, consuming over ten million yuan in advertising and operations every year.

Stable, durable, and quick in returning payments.

It was one of the most important clients of Light and Shadow Media.

The sudden decision of such a major client to terminate their partnership had an enormous impact.

Even the new media operations department and the channel business department might have to lay off staff.

Timid discussions arose in the office area.

“What’s going on with the company? I heard this morning that three media agencies have cancelled their cooperations with us.”

“It’s not just that. Yesterday, three leading media companies sent us a notice requesting to assess our performance.”

“I saw the notice. If we fail to satisfy the conditions for advertisement sales volume and customer expansion, the media will terminate contracts with us as stipulated by the contractual terms.”

“Could this be why Chengyuan Real Estate is terminating the contract with us? If so, might other big clients do the same?”

…

As a network advertising marketing and media procurement company, the most core resource of Light and Shadow Media was “media,” namely the media outlets.

Like advertising resources from major corporations such as Toutiao, Baidu, Penguin.

They played the intermediary role, helping businesses to place and operate ads on these platforms.

If these corporations revoked their authorization for Light and Shadow Media, their clients would definitely not accept it.

The entire Light and Shadow Media was overshadowed by gloom.

…

In the large conference room.

The company’s senior executives were all frowning, their expressions worried.

The Chairman and CEO Zhang Shun leaned forward expressionlessly, his elbows on the table, his mouth slightly open and somewhat pale.

In a heavy tone, he said, “Starting with Meigou Technology’s unexpected termination yesterday, we subsequently received cancellation notices from four major clients and seven media outlets. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?”

Suddenly, a noisy discussion erupted.

The contracts with these major clients were signed based on execution periods, typically revised monthly.

The contracts only stipulated the modes of operation, media, and rebate proportions.

The specific cooperation model involved account recharging and consumption.

This meant that if a media outlet performed poorly, it could be switched immediately.

Correspondingly, the cost for the other party to cancel the cooperation was also very low.

They didn’t have any countermeasures and were quite passive.

On the other hand, the media was not in a hurry; after all, the signed agency contracts were by the year.

If they wanted to revoke Light and Shadow Media’s agency rights, they needed a reasonable and legal excuse, otherwise, they would have to compensate according to the contract.

“Ding-a-ling-a-ling—” The urgent ringtone of a phone sounded.

Seeing the caller info, Zhang Shun involuntarily gripped tightly, crumpling an A4 paper into a ball.

He took a deep breath and answered the call.

Zhang Shun said with a smile, “Hello, President Xu, long time no see, I was just thinking of finding a chance to invite you for tea.”

Immediately after, the smile on his face froze, and he said gravely, “Jinxiu Commerce is one of Light and Shadow Media’s most important partners. Please believe that we will definitely overcome this crisis.”

“Even if we don’t have the agency rights for the media you need, we can still operate through other media companies. You should know my connections and reputation; the price will remain the same as now.”

“Alright! I understand.”

“President Xu, we’ve always had a good personal relationship, and I’d like to hear the truth from you. Why exactly are you cancelling our partnership?”

“Not convenient? I see, thank you.”

After hanging up, Zhang Shun was sweating profusely.

The most terrifying thing was the unknown.

Up to now, they had not caught wind of the other party’s intentions.

“President Zhang, I think the setback from Meigou Technology yesterday must also be the other party’s doing,” the Brand Department Director Li Xuechao said, “They might know that Wen Ruan is no longer in the project team, and they’re just using her as an excuse.”
