Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3022 Warm Threads

Lea appeared to be confused, ”Are Isabella and Shirley not participating? There are still two unclaimed spots left, right?”

”Theyʼre not going.”

Davis shook his head, causing Lea to be taken aback.

”They are not leaving the confines of the Aurora Cloud Gate. The other disciples will fight for the two spots. Otherwise, weʼd receive complaints that Iʼm a plunderer of spots now. Even if not for that, security is important. Therefore, you, Sophie, and Dalila are enough.”

”Thatʼs right, Lea.” Isabella strode forward before holding Leaʼs hands, ”We will remain here to look after the family. With the Candidacy, we have to prepare for it by learning a lot of knowledge and techniques.”

”Indeed.” Shirley agreed, ”Even if husband called us, we wouldnʼt be able to go anyway. What if the secret realm suddenly closes for ten years and one day? We wouldnʼt be able to attend the Candidacy.”

Lea appeared confused. She couldnʼt help but turn to look at someone else who was as strong as them.

”Tanya, what about you?”

”Well, someone has to earn more contribution points... enough to make a difference. Otherwise, we wouldnʼt be able to use Aurora Cloud Gateʼs time chambers since the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace is no longer useful to us.” Tanya winked.

”…”

Lea appeared to be still stumped over their excuses. Clearly, these werenʼt her sisters who practically tried to glue themselves to Davis every chance they got.

Shirley couldnʼt help but giggle as she walked and stood before Lea.

”Master, just because you have lived your life for a long time compared to us doesnʼt mean that you should be reserved about wanting to be with him. You should stop looking at us from behind and be a bit more selfish.”

”Shirley…”

Lea became embarrassed from having her thoughts read. However, she felt a tingle in her heart that made her feel warm. She nodded to her disciple and sister before turning to look at Davis.

”Alright. Iʼll listen to you, husband~”

”Good. Sophie and Dalila do not excel in combat as they have focused on learning forging and alchemy, so Iʼll leave their protection to you.”

Davis nodded his head, his gaze full of trust that caused Lea to confidently nod her head.

He went over toward Tanya, slightly flirting with her and praising her for thinking of earning for the family.

Davis really wished he had an avatar, but his soul physique still didnʼt allow for it, which sucked big time for him. He even tried fleshly body avatar techniques, but it didnʼt work as the soul was the foremost requirement to make any kind of avatar.

Regardless, he took Celestia and Eterna with him and gave Celestia to the twins and Eterna to Yilla, personally introducing their new mothers to him.

Panqa and Lanqua were shaken by this gesture that Panqa almost cried. To give his precious children to them, they couldnʼt help but think that he trusted them enough to give them. On the other hand, Yilla was pretty much frozen as she held Eterna in her arms.

Eterna was silent as well. Usually, she would be cheery like her mother, but now she was nervous and curious, looking at Yilla like she was a little rabbit.

Davis found this quite funny before he left them like that and went on to bid farewell. But before that, he saw Sophie take Aurelia from Niera and continue to breastfeed, causing him to wait a bit more.

However, he couldnʼt help but ask Niera.

”From when did you start lactating?”

”Iʼm not sure, but it seems like women who are carrying immortal babies will start to lactate sooner. There are many more changes-”

”Oh? Thatʼs… strange? Come with me.”I think you should take a look at

Davis called her over. They both left the hall and entered a nearby room. It was quite normal and not decorated enough, but after five minutes, both of them exited.

”…”

The other women glared at them. After all, looking at Nieraʼs adorable blush, they knew what he went to check.

Looking at their gazes, Davis smiled. He was unbridled, even licking his lips in front of them as the tip of his tongue held a layer of milk. But Niera also looked satisfied by this situation, finding it more joyous than she thought it would be.

After that, he tried to play with Aurelia, but she was still busy being fed by Sophie.

With the way Aurelia was, she didnʼt give a single dime about her surroundings while being breastfed. Nonetheless, unable to play with his third child, he went and harassed- no, playing with his overgrown babies, chasing them around like certified silk pants.

Peals of laughter and giggles were all over the place, and even though they were doing something foolish for their age and stature, they didnʼt seem to mind as their love was going to leave.

They were downcast but hid it well with their smiling faces.

When it was time, many of them couldnʼt help but shed tears, asking him to return early while also wishing the ones following him were safe.

Even Evelynnʼs nose was red as she seemed to hold back her tears.

”Even if our vision is cut off, donʼt panic, okay?”

”Mhm~”

Davis kissed Evelynnʼs forehead, causing her to nod with puffed cheeks. She was unusually dejected, perhaps with mood swings from being pregnant, so he gave her two more kisses before cajoling her.

”Remember to keep an eye on Everlight as well.”

”I will.”

Evelynn lightly smiled upon being pampered a bit more than others. However, she couldnʼt help but ask.

”Is Katherine still fine?”

Davis blinked. The awkward expression of that Rumbling Earthtail Lion popped into his head.

”Well, she was the one who said that she would keep an eye on Vereinaʼs movements at all times while providing her general location, and I can still feel Katherineʼs healthy presence, so I guess theyʼre both fine and doing great.”

”I see.”

Evelynn nodded as the final bit of worry in her heart receded. She tip-toed and gave a long enough peck on Davisʼs lips, smiling as she turned him around.

”Now leave. Otherwise, I would keep you on a leash here.”

”Haha. I understand.

Davis laughed and gestured towards Bylai and Tina, telling them to leave while he thought of leaving through the secret channel he came inside.

Most instructions were given while he was playing with his children, so there was nothing else to say.

However, he was overcome with emotion as it was unknown when he would see them next time, but without turning around, he waved his hand and disappeared.
