Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3015 The Fabric Of Karma

”…”

Davis waited for a few seconds, but there was no response from Fallen Heaven. It was silent as though it didnʼt exist, making him flicker his soul sense to pick up any changes in his floating island, but he found nothing of concern.

”If you donʼt say it, then I will be forced to experiment with the new powers, which might push us into danger.”

”Iʼm pretty sure you can guess it since you are also experiencing the influence through me because our souls are becoming highly compatible. However, donʼt you ever use it…”

”Altering the fabric of probabilities…”

Davis uttered to Fallen Heaven, but his voice was heavy while his heart clenched in excitement and fear.

Life, Death, and Karma.

He had already established that these were the three main Laws of Fallen Heaven. Life and Death gave birth to Reincarnation. Life and Karma induced evolution or mutation. Death and Karma invoked something else entirely that he was thinking of: judgment.

It was basically an extension of how he used Fallen Heaven to manipulate people into doing his bidding before finally inviting death but much worse and transcendentally overpowering, making him feel like he was the Emperor of the Underworld himself.

But this was what had his heart shuddering; actively being capable of altering fate!

Davis already knew that he could change fate with Fallen Heaven. It wasnʼt anything new. However, what he could do was manipulate lifeforms into making them move apart from their intended destination and not interfere with the fabric of fate, but he had this feeling of impending doom where he felt like he could alter the invisible bubble of fate itself like striking a curtain, causing it to wave and ripple to induce changes.

But this feeling was ridiculous.

His instincts were screaming at him not to try altering fate or manipulating the fabric of fate by the slightest margin, and Fallen Heaven was essentially saying the same. He knew how bad the situation was as it never stopped him from using its powers, but this time, it clearly advised against him over using it.

He couldnʼt imagine the consequences that it would have. Just passively altering fate almost ruined him multiple times. If he were to actively move mountains and rivers, then-

”My instincts tell me that this using this power would directly cause the heavens to locate me…”

”…”

Fallen Heaven warned Davis, causing him to narrow his brows heavily.

That made sense, considering that they were treading on heavenʼs territory now, something that no one probably tried to change or did and met a tragic end.

”I think I had gained some kind of perception of the lines, threads, or bubbles of fate. Whatever it may be, I can feel it like it is some sort of smell, sight, taste, perhaps all things combined- what? What the hell am I saying…?”

Davis didnʼt know how to even articulate this feeling. It appeared like it was present, but it was also not present, leaving him befuddled.

”But I think I can sense the dangers of passive divergence from fate, becoming able to predict the backlash better.”

”As I said, this is likely because you created this unique soul physique of yours. It caused our powers to be more intertwined, allowing you to comprehend my powers faster than usual. Perhaps, it would be even more pronounced in the Immortal Emperor Stage.”

Fallen Heavenʼs voice proudly echoed as though everything was because of it, but Davis couldnʼt help but nod. His comprehension of these three Laws had drastically increased that he started combining them without much effort.

ʼPerhaps, if I could achieve fusion over these powers…ʼ

Davis shivered ever so lightly. He might finally reach a level where he was invincible as Fallen Heaven, but at the same time, he was dumbfounded as he felt like the heavens might seriously drop some overpowered, unruly lightning, flames, and wind on him in return.

ʼAnd who the fuck knows what the Immortal Emperor Heavenly Tribulation entails?ʼ

Panic ensued in his heart. His Immortal King Heavenly Tribulation was already deadly, so what about the next stageʼs immortal tribulation?

He knew there was another kind of tribulation but what of the Celestial Transcendent? Would he reappear again?

However, he clenched his teeth and forcefully calmed himself.

He had not even gained Elementary Intent over this power but knew he was getting ahead of himself, thinking of breaking through. He figured that he had decades to do that since the Immortal King was a big divide. Although he was confident that he could peak it, comprehending Laws would take more time than ever.

·ƈθm ʼFirst, Iʼll develop Life, Death, and Karma Laws more. After that, Iʼll see what I can do…ʼ

Davis imagined things would fall in place if he stopped being hasty. He didnʼt want to make a mistake at this point, as he felt like it would cost him heavily than ever before.

ʼThatʼs enough talk… Any more and I might have bad luck…ʼ

”Alright. Things havenʼt changed on the island, so warn me if something happens…”

Standing up, he left the room he was alone in after informing Fallen Heaven, which made a satisfied noise.

Soon enough, he was outside, walking the hallways.

However, he recalled something and went another way, going to a room and jumping out the window without tripping a formation. Falling down slowly as he controlled his flight, he landed upon the ground, but in front of him was a crimson-robed beauty whose gaze was focused over the courtyard.

The courtyard had a pathway to the exit, but it was greeted by a captivating garden when entering or exiting. It emanated a sense of tranquility, meticulously designed to soothe and caress the heart of the people who walk past it.

The garden was enclosed by a gracefully curved white stone wall adorned with intricate patterns and symbols. There was even a tranquil pond beneath a small arched bridge adorned with delicate and joyous lotus leaves and colorful mortal fishes gently gliding through the water.

Multicolored plants and herbs sway gently in the breeze, casting playful shadows on the ground. Delicate cherry blossom trees stand tall, their branches adorned with clusters of pink and white flowers, symbolizing beauty and renewal.

It was a wondrous scene in which even Davis was mesmerized the more he watched, feeling the blending of nature, architecture, and artistry catered to his aesthetics. Just by looking at the statues, he knew who was responsible for this splendid scenery. However, his gaze was focused more on the crimson beauty who seemed one with the scene.

”Schleya.”

”…!”

Schleya flinched as she turned around in a panic, her expression hidden behind her veil while her black-crimson hair swayed in the air. Her gaze flickered upon seeing him present here, causing her to look away before she caught herself lacking and stared at his face with stern eyes.

”Erm… I heard what you did.” Davis lightly smiled, ”Thank you for sealing Claraʼs cultivation before the tribulation influenced her more.”

Schleya blinked before she shook her head.

”Donʼt thank me. I was too late. I regret not making a move sooner.”

”Wait a minute.” Davisʼs expression turned confused, ”Is that why you left the dining hall? Because you felt that the fact that I punished myself was your fault?”

Schleya didnʼt nod or shake. She simply looked away.

”Youʼre ruthless to yourself and your enemies. Thatʼs why I follow you, but-”

She mulled over, her eyes appearing to look left and right before she turned around.

”Donʼt hurt yourself again. No one who follows you likes to see it.”

”…”

Davis stood speechless. However, he couldnʼt help but smile wryly the next second, causing him to take a step forward as his hands slipped through her waist and hands, wrapping around her.

Schleyaʼs eyes went wide in shock as she could feel his heat behind her.

”Schleya, I…”

”Donʼt say anything.”

However, she quickly yelled out, her bosoms heaving ever so lightly, leaving Davis blinking as he didnʼt know what to do. Has she rejected his advances?

”You donʼt have to say anything, as I know.”

As he thought for a few seconds, her voice echoed out meekly. He continued to listen in silence.

”Iʼm awkward… I canʼt communicate properly… but almost everyone here helps me even without asking… This environment is something that is foreign, something that I didnʼt grow up in but I… I am also deeply fond of it…”

Schleya pursed her lips, her lips quivering, ”… I donʼt want to lose it…”

Davisʼs lips parted lightly as he tightly held her.

”I gave you, a wicked path woman, many things to protect. Sorry about that…”

Davis indeed felt sorry as wicked path people had a different kind of law heart, one that embodies greed and selfishness.

However, Schleya shook her head.

”Donʼt be… I feel this thing called contentment… and Iʼm delighted to have it, not to mention…”

Schleya showed her flexibility, turning around in his embrace as she looked at him with tearful eyes.

”I am proud to say that… Iʼm your woman~”

She closed her eyes heavily, tip-toeing as she awkwardly reached out her face, her lips pursing for a kiss.

Davis could feel her body trembling, but he held her gently, lowering his head as he intended to reciprocate with the increasing affection he had for her these last few months.

”Ah~”

However, a yelp jolted Schleya out of her reverie as she abruptly shot back, turning to look at Mingzhi and a few others hiding in a corner but had fallen to the ground as they seemed to put oneʼs weight over another.

Her blush grew crimson before she rapidly launched herself into the forest, causing Davis to stand there like a fool before he turned to look at Mingzhi, Fiora, Yilla, and even Isabella, spreading his hands as he asked them why.
