Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3000  Guardian Saintess

Davis turned around, his gaze moving past the Guardians as it fell on a white-robed woman descending from the skies.

She was like a fairy descending to the mortal world, emanating a captivating otherworldly aura that caused his gaze to flicker as he felt like gasping. Her complexion was as fresh as fallen snow, unblemished and radiant. A delicate face made from flawless porcelain skin, exuding an aura of purity and grace that made him want to see the features behind her opaque white veil.

Her silvery hair waved in the air as it shimmered underneath the sunlight while her brows, as fine as willows, were meticulously arched, adding an enchanting figure to her countenance. Above her eyes was a smooth, subtle diamond mark that seemed to be a power of bloodline or simply a beauty mark.

Clad in a pristine white robe made with the finest silk that he had laid his eyes upon, she seemed to float above the ground, her steps light and effortless. Her robe, which was embroidered with intricate patterns of flowers that exuded a sacred aura, even appearing alive as they quivered, made it look like the very fabric was rejoicing in her ethereal grace.

Davis went speechless as he gazed upon her slender figure that embodied a perfect harmony between strength and delicacy. Though her stature may seem somewhat petite, there is an undeniable power hidden within her frame, a strength that can move mountains or calm raging seas, causing him to avert his gaze as he didnʼt want to be caught lacking.

ʼThose are… huge…ʼ

The Peak Immortal Emperor existence in front of him was already blinding, but when those mountains were as big as Evelynnʼs or even Miraʼs, the charm was manifold. But more than her eyes, Davis found it difficult to match her gaze.

Those charming emerald eyes of hers were truly captivating to those who beheld her. Within their depths lies a timeless wisdom, a profound understanding of the world and its mysteries. They carry the weight of countless experiences yet also hold a glimmer of childlike wonder as if she constantly discovers new marvels within the vast tapestry of existence.

He cupped his hands and bowed slightly.

”Greetings, Saintess.”

Saintess Lunaria nodded ever so lightly at him, ”At ease~”

A gentle breeze swooped in, causing the Guardians and the Void Dust Empress to stand up.

Davis and Myria were the only ones who didnʼt kneel. Although Saintess Lunaria didnʼt seem to be bothered about it, some Guardians stared at them with displeasure. But in her presence, they kept quiet.

”In the history of the Aurora Cloud Gate, there were two Anarchic Divergents who joined us. While both were my disciples, one of them met a tragic fate while the other ascended. Their eras were also filled with ups and downs for our Aurora Cloud Gate, and now, we have two more Anarchic Divergents joining us in this era.”

Saintess Lunaria moved her lips as she voiced out.

Her voice carried a captivating, dulcet tone, both soothing and melodious, flowing like a gentle breeze through a tranquil forest, whispering secrets and caressing the senses of those who listen.

”Iʼm sure everyone knows I accepted Myria as my eleventh disciple and her sister Ellia as my in-name twelfth disciple. However, I must say that Myria is my equal or more in terms of knowledge, so treat her with similar respect.”

”… Yes~”

The Guardians were astonished, but they answered the next moment with cupped hands.

”As for this young man…”

Saintess Lunariaʼs gaze never left Davis, ”Letʼs just say… that he has more potential than anyone here.”

”…!”

The five Guardiansʼ shocked gazes fell on Davisʼs back. To have the Saintess have such an opinion about him, had they underestimated him…?

On the other hand, the Void Dust Empressʼs lips only curled behind her veil. If that was true, then her daughterʼs future would also be safe.

”However, the risk he faces is much… bigger than any of us, so I want to be shameless right here and tell you that the decision you took to leave the Aurora Cloud Gate is something I look favorably upon.”

”…!?”

The others became shocked again, but this was just pure astonishment. They were in disbelief as the Saintess was asking Davis to leave!

They, the Aurora Cloud Gate, the Saintess… have never abandoned a Divergent, so why!?

But despite all the shocking gazes he received, Davis smiled with relief.

Saintess Lunaria knew he had Fallen Heaven, so of course, she knew what kind of threat he possessed. His threat may have been smaller when he was an Immortal Stage Cultivator, but now that he was an Immortal King with the prowess of a Mid Stage Immortal Emperor, he knew that Saintess Lunaria, as the leader, must start looking at the Aurora Cloud Gate from an overall perspective and ensure its safety.

ʼEspecially after her plan to leave this world got ruined by me… I donʼt blame her at all...ʼ

From another perspective, he made her stay and forced her to look after the Aurora Cloud Gate until her departure in ten years, if she was still of the mind to leave, that is...

But hearing those words, the Void Dust Empress turned hesitant.

”Master, I donʼt mean to be rude, but Davis has only self-exiled. We did not throw this disciple out or accept his self-inflicted absence.”

”I know. It doesnʼt matter if he is self-exiled or not. Itʼs my duty to look after the safety of the Aurora Cloud Gate, and Iʼm aware you saved him multiple times, which I am not against. However, his presence in the Aurora Cloud Gate will bring it utter ruin. This is not my speculation but conviction.”

Saintess Lunariaʼs words were still gentle, full of eloquence, but they carried a firmness that couldnʼt be refuted, leaving the Void Dust Empress speechless.

The other Guardians also didnʼt know what to say as they had thought it was the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs mission to never abandon their people unless they have done wrong, not to mention that this was a sect made for Divergents, a sanctuary created for them to live in peace.

To that end, they rarely ventured out or even took charge of their departments unless they had to.

”Saintess Lunaria is right.”

Suddenly, they heard a chuckling tone, and to their dumbfounded minds, they saw Davis smiling brightly.

Davis was rather delighted with his decision to leave, being validated, ”Iʼm just here since I was called, but I will leave soon, so thereʼs no need to speak for me. Besides, now that the Guardians are all awake, I am convinced the Aurora Cloud Gate would be the safest haven for my family.”

”Donʼt worry about your family. I will ensure their safety as an apology for my shameless decision.”

”What…? You are too humble, Saintess.” Davis shook his head, ”It is only your right as the leader of the Aurora Cloud Gate to make decisions that lead to its survival.”

”You are quite… peculiar.” Saintess Lunariaʼs gaze flickered, ”Despite all the odds, you are not dead. Therefore, I look favorably upon you-”

A cheery voice emerged from the depths of her heart, ”Divine Emperor of Death~”
