Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1997 - 326: Family Feast 2

Even if she still harbored resentment toward the Su family, given her relationship with her mother, she should at least have come to see her. Since she couldnʼt figure it out, she decided not to think about it anymore. So far, that mysterious force hadnʼt shown any ill intent toward the three major families.

The women in the family obviously regarded this as an accident. After all, they didnʼt have Wang Yueʼs past experiences and thus had no way of knowing that some force was specifically protecting Jinling.

After a night and a morning of worry, Liu Ruoshi could finally relax. She was in a good mood and even smiled in front of the whole family. She asked, ”This could be considered a happy event. What do you think we should do to celebrate?”

Upon hearing this, all the women instinctively looked at Wang Yue. Wang Yue smiled and said, ”How about I go and destroy the Zhang family to liven things up a bit?”

All the women remained silent. Although the Warrior Alliance had always turned a blind eye to conflicts within the same tier – that is, battles between cities of equal status, such as Jinling and Gusu, or among different factions within Jinling itself.

However, when it came to Tianhai attacking Jinling or Jinling targeting a weaker city, that would be considered a case of lower-tier forces attacking a higher-tier one.

But there still had to be a reason for such an act; how could one destroy someone without any justification?

Only Wang Qianqian strongly supported him: ”Dad… Uncle, Iʼll go with you!”

”Donʼt add to the chaos,” Liu Xinru rebuked her daughter. Then she said to Wang Yue, ”On such a joyous occasion, letʼs not make it so bloody.”

Wang Yue merely mentioned it casually. After all, destroying the Zhang family was easy, but dealing with the subsequent problems would be much more troublesome. Moreover, it would give the Tianhai-Zhang family a valid excuse to take drastic action.

This was different from Wang Yueʼs actions against Zhang Lingfeng. That was just a personal grudge between them.

If the Tianhai-Zhang family used this as an excuse to target Jinlingʼs three major families after Wang Yue fled, the Warrior Alliance would surely intervene.

But if two major families went to war and one side destroyed the other, then the Warrior Alliance would have no reason to interfere if the forces related to the defeated side got involved.

Although he was 90% certain that someone was secretly protecting the three prominent families of Jinling, he was also 90% sure that even without such protection, his own deterrence would prevent the Tianhai Zhang family from harming those families.

But one can never be too cautious. For the sake of achieving his goal, it might not be a problem to cause some concern among the beautiful women of the three families.

However, if there was even a one-in-ten-thousand chance of putting them in danger, Wang Yue would never take that risk.

Because he couldnʼt afford to lose. The thirty-one beautiful women from the three families were the very essence of his life. Losing any one of them would bring him unspeakable pain.

”As Xin Ru said, now isnʼt the right time to deal with the Zhang family,” Liu Ruoshi said. ”Since none of you have any ideas, how about we all go out for a walk in the city together to relax? What do you think?”

Upon hearing this, Wang Yue secretly gave his grandmother a thumbs-up. This seemingly simple family outing was actually a brilliant strategy.

While they couldnʼt act against the Zhang family for now, just the sight of the Wang family appearing relaxed and happy in public would be a major blow to them.

Whether they already knew about the problems at the Tianhai Zhang family or not, the outcome would be roughly the same.

At the same time, this was also a harsh blow to those forces that had aligned with the Zhang family, sort of a form of ”interest payment” in advance.

Most importantly, going out together as a family helps enhance cohesion and strengthen the bonds among family members.

Indeed, upon hearing Liu Ruoshiʼs decision, everyone agreed unanimously, and the young girls were overjoyed.

To everyoneʼs surprise, Su Mengyan also decided to join them, which was truly unbelievable.

You should know that since marrying into the Wang family sixteen years ago, she hadnʼt left the Wang family estate not once. She hadnʼt even returned to the Su family; it was always her relatives who came to see her.

But today, she was actually going out to play with everyone – which completely took everyone by surprise.

After the initial shock, the women were overjoyed. After all, the melting of Su Mengyanʼs ”ice” would undoubtedly make the entire family more harmonious and warm.

Most of them were already Wang Yueʼs wives, so they naturally wanted to get along well with Su Mengyan, their ”mother-in-law”.

After all, it wouldnʼt be long before this ”mother-in-law” became one of their sisters as well.

Wang Yue was even more pleased. His mother was willing to spend time with everyone. Although it was probably out of respect for him, it showed that her true nature was gradually returning.

If this continued, one day she would become who she really was and no longer have to maintain that indifferent facade.

After all, living with a mask on is a tiring thing. Only by shedding all pretenses and returning to who we truly are can we live without worries.

As a filial son who loved his mother, Wang Yue naturally hoped for this.

The family went to the city area. First, they had a quick meal at a restaurant owned by the Wang family. Then they wandered around aimlessly.

In contrast to the Wang familyʼs relaxed demeanor, the Zhang family and those forces that had sided with them felt a crushing pressure upon them.

The experts from the Tianhai Zhang family, who were supposed to arrive early in the morning, still hadnʼt shown up. When contacted, they merely told them to wait without providing any further information.

This made the people of the Jinling Zhang family feel uneasy – it seemed that the Tianhai Zhang family intended to abandon them. If that were the case, trouble would be inevitable. The three major families of Jinling werenʼt anything special in front of the Tianhai Zhang family, but dealing with them would be extremely easy.

Those forces that had sided with the Zhang family were also terrified, especially those that had previously maintained good relations with the three major families and cooperated with them in various aspects. They were in a state of extreme anxiety.

At all times, traitors are more detestable than enemies.
