Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1852 - 0181: The Effort to Win Over a Girl 3

Chu Mo suddenly laughed again: ”Actually, you kind of like me, donʼt you?”

”Indeed,” Wang Yue replied without hesitation this time, simply nodding in agreement.

”Then what exactly about me do you like?” Chu Mo asked again.

”I canʼt really put it into words; itʼs just that I like you,” Wang Yue said.

”And I think that if you could articulate exactly what you like about someone, it wouldnʼt really be ʼlikingʼ anymore—it would be more like admiration. For example, I admire your appearance, your figure, your independent and responsible personality, and your willingness to sacrifice for your family. But those arenʼt the reasons why I like you. After all, many girls in this world have good looks, figures, and personalities, but I donʼt like them just because I admire them. If I had to explain why I like you, Iʼd say itʼs just an indescribable feeling.”

Wang Yueʼs long speech left Chu Moʼs heart fluttering.

Whatʼs more, Wang Yue gave her the impression of being very honest and sincere, and such words were all the more convincing.

In fact, not just Chu Mo, but even Wang Yue himself was somewhat impressed by himself for being able to express his feelings so purely and for praising Chu Mo in so many aspects.

It seemed that he really had the potential to be a ”romantic saint.”

After a brief silence, Chu Mo changed the subject and asked, ”You just said that helping me reject this marriage proposal would also be beneficial to the three major families. What do you mean by that?”

”Since the incident that happened three years ago, several factions led by the Zhang family have been acting very arrogantly, so we were looking for an excuse to deal with them,” Wang Yue explained honestly. ”Your situation provides us with an excellent opportunity to do that.”

If Chu Mo were a person with a dark side, she would surely think that the three major families were taking advantage of her and would feel dissatisfied.

But she wasnʼt that kind of person; she was well aware that Wang Yue and the others were mainly trying to help her. After all, any one of the three major families was stronger than the Zhang family, and since the three families had always been closely allied, they could easily find any excuse to deal with the Zhang family.

”Thank you all for thinking so much of me, but…” Chu Mo hesitated.

Wang Yue couldnʼt help but sigh inwardly: It seems she still canʼt overcome the obstacle posed by the Chu family. But if the three major families were all determined to deal with the Zhang family, wouldnʼt marrying into the Zhang family at this time just mean inviting trouble for herself? How could she not see that?

Then Chu Mo chuckled and said, ”If it were so easy for you to win me over, wouldnʼt that be embarrassing for me?”

”Then what should I do?” Wang Yue asked.

”Iʼve already decided to cancel the marriage proposal with the Zhang family; itʼs all for the sake of the Chu family, so thereʼs no need for you to go to such lengths anymore,” Chu Mo said. ”If you really like me, then come and pursue me seriously. If you can win me over, Iʼm willing to be your concubine—how about that?”

”Okay,” Wang Yue also smiled. ”But Iʼm not very good at pursuing girls; I hope you wonʼt mind my clumsiness.”

”Thatʼs exactly what I want—because youʼre not good at it,” Chu Mo said, winking. ”If you were, that would mean youʼre like my father, and I wouldnʼt want that at all.”

Wang Yue felt a bit guilty: It seemed he was indeed like her father, and perhaps even more so.

Just as they were talking, Su Jin-er and the other two also brought over a lot of food.

The observant Su Jin-er noticed that in just a short while, Chu Mo seemed completely different—as if the shadow that had been hanging over her had completely disappeared.

”What did you all talk about? Why does it seem so happy to see you like this?” Su Jin-er asked.

Chu Mo smiled and said, ”Iʼve decided to reject the marriage proposal with the Zhang family; I donʼt want to jump into that fire pit anymore. How could I not be happy?”

”How did you suddenly come to this decision?” Su Xiu-er asked in surprise, then glanced at Wang Yue and smirked. ”Could it be…”

”Of course not! If the three major families are all going to deal with the Zhang family, am I supposed to drag the entire Chu family down with them?” Chu Mo rolled her eyes.

”I see,” Su Xiu-er said, feeling a bit disappointed. She had thought that Chu Mo was in love with Wang Yue.

As Chu Moʼs close friend, she truly hoped that Chu Mo would be with her cousin. That way, not only would they become a real family, but it would also fulfill her own wish.

Indeed, without realizing it, Su Xiu-er had also started to feel something for Wang Yue. But since Wang Yue was her cousin, it was impossible for them to be together, so she hoped that her friend could experience these feelings on her behalf.

Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er had different personalities and werenʼt as closely connected as Wang Yue and Wang Xin-er, but at that moment, their thoughts were exactly the same.

Therefore, Su Jin-er said with some regret, ”I thought you were influenced by Xiao Yue… So it means he doesnʼt have any chance at all?”

”Not at all. Iʼve already given him the chance to pursue me,” Chu Mo said, looking at Wang Yue and smiling sincerely.

Upon hearing this, Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er exchanged glances and both saw relief in each otherʼs eyes.

Apart from those shameless women who take pleasure in manipulating men, when a woman gives a man the chance to pursue her, it usually means that she already has feelings for that person. After all, pursuing the opposite sex is a right everyone possesses; even if she doesnʼt agree, a person can still pursue her. So why go out of their way to mention it?

However, while feeling somewhat relieved, these women also felt a hint of bitterness in their hearts, as if someone had taken away something very important to them.

Only Su Jiaojiao seemed completely unfazed. She stuffed her little mouth full of food and said, ”All this talk about whoʼs pursuing whom is so boring. Eating is much more practical. Are you guys going to eat? If not, Iʼm going to finish it all.”

The four of them exchanged smiles and joined in the eating.

While Wang Yue and the other four were having dinner in the buffet restaurant, Zhang Qingtian and his men entered another restaurant.

”Chu Mo, you little bitch, just wait and see how Iʼll deal with you! Wang Yue, weʼll settle this account later!” In the private room, Zhang Qingtian smashed a chair with a punch, venting his anger.

None of his subordinates dared say a word. After all, Zhang Qingtian had been beaten right in front of them, and they didnʼt even dare to take revenge afterward. It was as if they had completely lost face. Provoking him at this moment would be nothing but asking for trouble.

After almost destroying everything in the private room, Zhang Qingtian finally calmed down a bit and suddenly asked, ”Is there any way to contact the Chen family?”

”The Chen family has no dealings with our Zhang family, so it might be difficult to get in touch with them,” one of the subordinates hesitated before answering.

Zhang Qingtian frowned and asked, ”Even sending a message isnʼt possible?”

”Sending a message should be no problem,” the subordinate replied. ”Young master, what do you plan to do?”

”Tell Chen Xi from the Chen family that her fiancé is with another woman,” Zhang Qingtian said with a sinister smile.

”Young master, please think twice,” the subordinates urged. ”Doing this could offend both the Chen family and the Wang family, and the consequences could be serious.”

”How serious could it be? Could they even kill me?” Zhang Qingtian sneered. ”I heard that Chen Xi has a rather bad temper. Let them fight among themselves first. Hmph, once our Zhang family completes the cooperation with Tianhai, those so-called ʼthree major families of Jinlingʼ will be nothing but trash!”

”Youʼre wise, young master. Iʼll arrange this immediately,” another subordinate said, immediately turning on his communication device to make the contact.
