Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: A Rare Talent

”You’re lying! It’s obvious that you just wanted Miss Jiang because she’s beautiful, so you used the power of the Ye Alliance to take her away from my apprentice!” the old Taoist quickly shouted. He was a man who had once led a sect because his righteous and stern manner seemed convincing.

Ye Fei, however, just sneered disdainfully. ”The truth is in the eye of the beholder. If you want to know what happened, why don’t you ask Abbess Mieyin, who knows the whole story?”

”Sister, what do you say?” Hearing Ye Fei’s words, Jingxu turned to Mieyin, and everyone else’s eyes followed suit. Only Chongdong had a smug smile flicker across his lips. He thought Mieyin the nun was in his pocket, so having her testify would be a huge advantage for him.

To everyone’s surprise, Mieyin nodded and said, ”Master Ye is right.”

”Mieyin, you’re betraying me!” Chongdong was both shocked and furious, glaring at Mieyin and shouting.

”I’m just stating the facts,” Mieyin replied indifferently. Despite her unlikable personality—she was irritable, vain, and stubborn—she was, at her core, an upright person.

After hearing the cordial conversation between Jingxu and Ye Fei, she suddenly realized that she had been used by the old Taoist ever since the martial arts conference. Naturally, she wasn’t going to lie for him anymore.

Since Mieyin had decided not to help him, the old Taoist had to pin all his hopes on his last resort. He shouted at Chuchen, who had been standing like a statue for a long time, ”Great-uncle, say something! Now even Cihang Jingzhai is teaming up with the Demon Sect against us!”

As if in response to Chongdong, Chuchen, who had been standing still for a long time, finally moved. He shuddered all over, his face turned bright red in an instant, and then he spat out a large mouthful of blood with a ”wah.”

”How do you feel now, old Taoist?” Ye Fei asked with a grin.

”After spitting out this blood clot, I feel much better,” Chuchen weakly gasped for a few breaths, then bowed to Ye Fei and said, ”Thank you, Master Ye, for showing mercy.”

”Great-uncle?!” The old Taoist looked at Chuchen in surprise, not understanding why his only support would suddenly spit blood and then apologize to Ye Fei.

Chuchen gave Chongdong a sharp glance and snorted, ”I heard everything you said just now. So everything you told me on the mountain was a lie!”

”It’s not like that, Great-uncle, let me explain!” Chongdong quickly said.

But Chuchen wouldn’t listen. He snorted again and said, ”What’s there to explain? Would Abbess Mieyin lie about you?”

”I...” The old Taoist was speechless.

Ignoring Chongdong, Chuchen turned to Ye Fei and the women, including Zhu Yuyan, and said, ”I was too hasty this time. I will come to apologize in person another day!”

Ye Fei gave a cold laugh. ”There’s no need to wait for another day. Today will do just fine.”

”What do you mean, Master Ye?” Chuchen asked.

Ye Fei glanced around and said, ”You injured so many of our Demon Sect sisters and just want to walk away? That’s not how it works.” He wasn’t wrong.

The old members of the Demon Sect were all slippery characters. After fighting for so long, none of them were injured, while almost all the young female disciples had been hurt.

Hearing this, Chuchen’s face turned red with embarrassment. He had been misled by Chongdong and had recklessly come to provoke.

Now that his deception had been exposed, he wanted nothing more than to leave this humiliating place as quickly as possible, forgetting that there should be some kind of resolution to this matter. So he quickly said, ”Master Ye is right. What do you propose we do?”

”You have two choices,” Ye Fei said, holding up two fingers. ”First, the main culprit in this matter can kowtow three times to the injured sisters and apologize. Second, you can leave, but I will personally go to Mount Wudang to settle the score later!”

Upon hearing this, the old Taoist’s heart leaped with joy. Although he had previously underestimated Ye Fei’s strength, resulting in Chuchen, a Great Ascension stage master much more formidable than the monk who had presided over the martial arts conference, suffering a setback at Ye Fei’s hands, Wudang Sect was no ordinary place.

As far as Chongdong knew, there were at least five individuals more powerful than Chuchen, not to mention the legendary even stronger masters. If Ye Fei dared to go there, he would surely not return alive.

”Great-uncle, let’s go!” After making up his mind, the old Taoist hurriedly tried to pull Chuchen away.

However, Chuchen did not budge. After a moment of contemplation, he said, ”Chongdong, the fault lies entirely with you. You should go and apologize as Master Ye suggested.”

”What?” The old Taoist was taken aback, then he put on a self-righteous expression and said, ”Great-uncle, how can that be? I am, after all, the leader of Wudang. If I kowtow to a bunch of heretics, what face would Wudang have left in the martial world? Moreover, it’s not just their people who got injured; we also suffered quite a few casualties. How do we explain that?”

”This...” Hearing Chongdong’s words, Chuchen hesitated as well. He had just experienced Ye Fei’s formidable power.

If possible, he certainly did not want to make Wudang Sect an enemy.

But Chongdong had a point. If he, as the leader, were to kowtow to the disciples of the Demon Sect, it would undoubtedly deal a significant blow to Wudang’s reputation.

As Chuchen was caught in a dilemma, Ye Fei added, ”Oh, I wasn’t finished. If you don’t want to kowtow and apologize, the others can leave, but the main culprit cannot be let go. I will personally kill him to avenge my sisters!”

Chuchen was startled by Ye Fei’s words and quickly said, ”Master Ye, isn’t that punishment a bit too severe?”

”Yes, Master Ye, it’s just a misunderstanding. There’s no need to take a life,” Jingxu also interjected, trying to mediate.

”This is already the lightest punishment!” Ye Fei snorted coldly.

”Anyone who dares to hurt me, Ye Fei, deserves to have their entire family wiped out. I’m being exceptionally lenient by not doing that, and I’m even offering another choice.”

Chuchen wanted to say something, but Chongdong interrupted him, ”Great-uncle, for the stability of Wudang, I, your disciple, am willing to sacrifice myself!”

With that, just as everyone thought he was about to make a grand, self-sacrificial gesture, he strode over to the injured female disciples of the Demon Sect and knelt heavily, kowtowing three times with a loud thud.

”A rare talent!” Ye Fei’s eyes widened in an expression of admiration. He then turned to Zhu Yuyan and asked, ”Mother-in-law, does our Demon Sect have such a rare talent?”
