Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1028: Chapter 1028: The Dignity of a True Master

After letting out that shout, Ye Fei immediately wrapped his arms around his mother-in-law’s slender waist and leaped straight off the rooftop, which was dozens of meters high. He landed with a thud right in front of his mother-in-law and senior sisters, facing the stunned Chuchen.

As soon as they landed, Zhu Yuyan subtly slipped out of Ye Fei’s embrace. She glanced around and saw that almost all of her young disciples were injured.

A flash of anger crossed her beautiful eyes. However, she didn’t say a word. Instead, she turned her gaze to Ye Fei, waiting for him to speak.

By now, she had truly accepted her role as Ye Fei’s woman. Although she still held the title of ”mother-in-law,” she instinctively let him take the lead in important matters.

Without any hesitation, Ye Fei looked directly at the old Taoist and Mieyin the nun, sneering, ”Why is it always you two? Have you grown tired of living?”

”Hahaha... Ye Fei, stop pretending. With Abbess Jingxu and my great-uncle here today, your end is truly near!” Chongdong laughed maniacally.

While others might not have witnessed Ye Fei’s true strength, he and Mieyin had seen it firsthand, and it had terrified them.

But after the martial arts conference, whenever he mentioned it to others, no one believed him. After all, Ye Zhilin, a once-in-a-millennium genius, was already astonishing.

How could there possibly be someone younger and even more powerful than her?

Even a guardian wouldn’t be that strong.

At first, Chongdong had been adamant about it, but over time, even he began to doubt.

Especially after investigating Ye Fei’s background, he became convinced that Ye Fei couldn’t possibly be that powerful.

Humans are like that sometimes. When they don’t want to believe something, and the people around them feel the same way, they’d rather trust rumors than what they’ve seen with their own eyes. So, Ye Fei’s stunning skills were dismissed by him as some sort of dark magic or even an illusion from the Demon Sect.

It wasn’t just the old Taoist; Mieyin the nun felt the same way. That’s why they both took advantage of Ye Zhilin’s absence in Wanghai to confront Ye Fei.

After their unexpected encounter, their confidence swelled even more. They felt that even if Ye Zhilin were here, with so many of them and two Great Ascension stage masters, they had nothing to fear.

As for Ye Zhilin’s title as the martial arts alliance leader, it had never been taken seriously by these major sects.

”Are you still kids? Losing a fight and then calling your parents?” Ye Fei scoffed, giving the old Taoist a disdainful glance before ignoring him completely.

He then turned to the kind-looking old nun who hadn’t joined the fight yet and asked, ”You’re Miao Chan’s master?”

”I am indeed,” Abbess Jingxu stepped forward, clasped her hands together in a respectful gesture, and said, ”Miao Chan has grown up with me in Cihang Jingzhai since she was young. She knows nothing of the outside world and is probably very uncomfortable here. I hope you can show mercy and let her return with me.”

Compared to the old Taoist, Mieyin, despite her hot temper, was much more honest. She had already confessed to the sect, especially to Abbess Jingxu, about using Miao Chan as a hostage with Ye Fei, without exaggerating too much. That’s why Jingxu hadn’t joined the fight earlier. She knew the fault didn’t entirely lie with Ye Fei.

As for why Ye Fei was also regarded as a lecher by them, it was entirely due to the old Taoist’s constant instigation after they met Chongdong and the others.

”I haven’t restricted Miao Chan’s freedom at all. She’s not even here. She went to the Tang Family Manor with the Tang Sect’s eldest miss to celebrate the New Year. Didn’t you check?” Ye Fei said truthfully.

Jingxu was slightly taken aback and turned to Mieyin, ”Sister, what’s going on?”

In Cihang Jingzhai, most people were indifferent to worldly affairs. Since Mieyin was more involved in secular matters, she was in charge of intelligence.

Mieyin was straightforward, ”Miao Chan did go to the Tang Family Manor. But I thought you could help me teach Ye Fei a lesson, and then we could go to the Tang Sect to bring Miao Chan back.”

”You!” Jingxu sighed helplessly, then apologized to Ye Fei, ”Master Ye, we’ve been too hasty this time. We’ve caused a lot of trouble for you and everyone from the Demon Sect, and even injured some people. I apologize on behalf of everyone.”

With that, Jingxu took out two small white jade bottles from her bag and handed them to Ye Fei, saying, ”These are special medicines from Cihang Jingzhai. They’re effective for both internal and external injuries. Please use them on everyone.”

The old nun was humble and compassionate, and as Miao Chan’s master, Ye Fei was also quite polite to her. He took the bottles and smiled, ”Thank you, Abbess. And you don’t need to blame yourself. I believe you were just misled by some unscrupulous people.”

”Thank you for your understanding, Master Ye. I’ll head to the Tang Family Manor now to find my disciple Miao Chan. Farewell,” Jingxu said, then beckoned to Mieyin, preparing to leave.

”Abbess, Abbess Jingxu, are you just going to leave like this? Who’s going to give me justice?” The old Taoist became anxious as he saw Jingxu leaving. He called out to her a few times, then shouted at the motionless Chuchen, ”Great-uncle, say something!”

Ye Fei also spoke up, ”Abbess, wait a moment. I plan to visit your sect after the New Year. How about I bring Miao Chan back with me then? No need for you to make the trip again.”

”That sounds good,” Jingxu nodded in agreement after a moment of thought. She had already changed her opinion of Ye Fei significantly. Since Miao Chan could go to the Tang Family Manor freely, it meant Ye Fei hadn’t restricted her freedom.

If Miao Chan hadn’t returned to Cihang Jingzhai, it was because she didn’t want to, not because of Ye Fei.

”Thank you, senior,” Ye Fei bowed to Jingxu, thinking to himself that this was the demeanor of a true master. Compared to her, Mieyin the nun, also from Cihang Jingzhai, was far inferior.

Jingxu nodded and was about to leave when she caught the old Taoist’s pleading look. She turned to Ye Fei again, ”Master Ye, is there a young lady named Jiang Yitong with you?

If so, could you do me a favor and let her go back with Chongdong? I heard she’s the fiancée of one of his disciples.”

Ye Fei glanced at the old Taoist and smiled, ”Abbess, I don’t know what this guy told you, but the truth is, although Jiang Yitong’s family had discussed an engagement with this old Taoist, it was never finalized. Later, he tried to force the marriage and got his comeuppance. Now, Jiang Yitong has returned to the Shuiyue Palace with her master.”
