Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 816: The Adorable Ice Fairy

Leaving the bedroom, Ye Fei and Ye Xuan were surprised to find Wen Rou still sitting quietly in the living room of the suite, her head slightly lowered as if lost in thought.

”What are you thinking about?” Ye Fei asked as he helped Ye Xuan sit down beside Wen Rou, taking a seat across from them.

”Why arenʼt you watching TV?”

”I donʼt know how to turn it on,” Wen Rou replied softly. To Ye Feiʼs astonishment, a faint blush appeared on the girlʼs stunningly beautiful face.

Since theyʼd met, Ye Fei had tried everything to elicit a reaction from Wen Rou, but at most, heʼd only managed to see a slight change in her expression.

Now, she was showing signs of shyness, which puzzled him. Was it just because she didnʼt know how to use the TV?

This wasnʼt the time to ask, though. They werenʼt close enough yet, and understanding her would take time. Still, heʼd gained something—heʼd seen a side of Wen Rou beyond her usual cold demeanor. It made him think he wasnʼt wrong about her; she could be quite adorable at times.

With only a week left until the New Year, there was still a lot to do. Ye Fei didnʼt want to waste any more time, so he checked out of the hotel with the two women and headed straight for the airport.

As for Zhang Yide and the others, they stayed behind to handle local matters, which might not even be resolved before the New Year.

On the way to the airport, Ye Fei didnʼt call anyone from the Tianxia Society. Instead, he hailed a taxi. When they got in, he noticed another side of Wen Rou.

The girl had no experience with modern transportation—she didnʼt even know how to open a car door.

When Ye Fei opened it for her, the usually composed martial arts master seemed flustered. This only made her seem even more endearing to him.

At the same time, Ye Fei felt a pang of guilt.

From her reactions, it seemed Wen Rou had traveled from the northernmost part of the country to the south on foot.

Without his ability to teleport, despite her incredible martial arts skills, she must have endured considerable hardship along the way.

Ye Fei made up his mind to make it up to her and ensure she wouldnʼt have to return to that desolate place.

Of course, whether his intentions were entirely selfless was something only he knew.

With the New Year approaching, the country was in the midst of its annual Spring Festival travel rush, or ”Chunyun.”

When theyʼd left Wanghai, Ye Fei and Ye Xuan hadnʼt felt the pressure thanks to VIP channels.

But now, arriving at the airport as ordinary citizens, they realized just how overwhelming it could be.

Faced with a crowd so dense it was hard to even turn around, even Ye Xuan and Ye Fei were at a loss.

As for Wen Rou, though her expression remained calm, her eyes were filled with confusion. She was overwhelmed by the sheer number of people.

Realizing this, Ye Fei abandoned his plan to return to Wanghai as an ordinary traveler. He called Zhang Yide to explain their situation.

The efficiency of his team was impressive—just that morning, theyʼd dealt with Xiong Kui, and now theyʼd largely taken control of the underground world in the South China Sea, especially the Tianxia Societyʼs influence.

It was clear that while the Tianxia Societyʼs status here wasnʼt quite on par with the Lingyun Societyʼs in the southeast, their influence was still significant. Within ten minutes, a middle-aged man who appeared to be an airport manager approached them. Without asking questions, he greeted them and led them through a staff-only passage.

Ye Fei felt a bit conflicted about using such privileges, but it was a product of the countryʼs environment, and he was the beneficiary, so he didnʼt comment.

As for Ye Xuan and Wen Rou, one was already accustomed to such treatment, and the other had no experience with it, so neither said anything.

When it came time to check in, Ye Fei realized another issue: Wen Rou, having grown up in the mountains, didnʼt even have an ID.

This made him chuckle at his earlier naivety. Even without the Spring Festival rush, Wen Rou wouldʼve been a problem. But now, with the special access, ID issues are irrelevant. It made Ye Fei reflect on how much more privileged official figures might have been compared to their underground status.

The journey was uneventful, and as dusk fell, the three of them set foot in Wanghai. Throughout the flight, Ye Fei kept an eye on Wen Rou, who was sitting with Ye Xuan.

Perhaps because it was her first time leaving the ground, the girl seemed slightly nervous, but overall, she remained calm—likely thanks to her near-invincible martial arts skills.

As Ye Fei pondered how to convince Wen Rou to stay, he turned on his phone.

Despite his abilities, which could easily protect them even in a plane crash, he never messed with public safety, so heʼd turned it off before the flight.

As soon as it powered on, he was bombarded with missed call notifications—one every two to three minutes for the past hour, all from the same number.

Who could this be? Ye Fei wondered, about to call back when the phone rang again. It was the same number. He answered, ”Whoʼs this?”

”Mr. Ye? Youʼre finally reachable!” a manʼs voice replied, sounding extremely relieved. Ye Fei felt like heʼd heard the voice before.

”Itʼs me. I was on a plane and had my phone off. Whatʼs the matter?” Ye Fei asked.

While his number wasnʼt strictly confidential, only those with some connection to him knew it, so he wasnʼt impatient.

”Are you out of town right now?” The voice on the other end of the line sounded utterly disappointed.

”No, I just got back to Wanghai,” Ye Fei replied truthfully.

”Thatʼs great!” The other person immediately perked up. ”Mr. Ye, could you come over? The young ladies are in trouble.”

”The young ladies?” Ye Fei instantly realized who he was talking about, and his heart raced with urgency.

”Where are you? What happened to Gu Xuehan and the others?”

The caller was none other than the male half of the landlord couple who rented to the Gu sisters. Back then, Ye Fei had suspected they meant harm to Gu Xuehan and nearly killed them—a memory that still lingered vividly in his mind.
