Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 224. The High Orc Army (2)

“The High Orc army.”

At the 5th Elder’s words, Matthew, who was listening from the side, asked.

“High Orcs?”

“Yes, their bodies have grown larger overall, and both their strength and speed have increased.”

“I see.”

“On top of that, the fighting spirit the Orcs use has also become stronger. According to the literature, Orcs that have evolved one step like that are called High Orcs.”

“I see. Then how much stronger are they than regular Orcs?”

“Shouldn’t we say they’ve become at least twice as strong? But what’s important is not their current strength, but the fact that their potential has greatly opened up.”

“You mean they can become much stronger in the future?”

“That’s right. According to the literature of the Roman Empire, the strongest warrior of the Orc race at that time was said to be a match for an 8-star knight.”

“8-star…. That’s amazing.”

“Yes. It is amazing.”

The 5th Elder and Matthew nodded their heads in admiration.

High Orcs are that amazing. However….

Thwack! Poow! Crack! Crunch!

“Kuwek! Bro… brother! Stop!”

“You green-green baaastard! How dare you try to one-up your brother? Huh!”

“I’m sor… keok!”

“Die! Die! If you know you did wrong, then just dieeee!”

What’s the use of being amazing?

Before a demon, everyone is equal….

Patrick didn’t even draw his sword against Tutan.

He started by beating him with his bare hands, and now he was on top of him, giving him a jolly good thrashing.

Tutan also tried to resist at first, but it didn’t last long.

“Die! You son of a biiiitch!”

Patrick Schneider.

The name of a man who makes everyone equal, be they High Orcs or whatever.

* * *

With Patrick suppressing Tutan’s rebellion, 2,000 able-bodied Orc workers joined the pioneer city.

And Patrick mobilized them to start clearing the forest along the Moana River basin.

Uprooting trees, breaking rocks, leveling the ground….

It was a difficult and arduous task that would take who knows how long if humans were to do it, but it was a different story when Orcs were involved.

“Woooooooaaaaar!”

“Send it flyyyying!”

The mighty Orc warriors’ stone swords felled trees and uprooted them.

Boulders pulled out whole were shattered into pieces and moved far away.

If he had suddenly ordered the Orcs to clear the land, the possibility of them obediently following was low.

Why should they, who are warriors, clear a forest?

We are warriors.

You are not an Orc.

There was a high chance they would have resisted like this. However….

“Brother! You’ve come?”

“Oh, yeah. Is the work going well?”

“Yes. I will definitely have it done within the time frame you ordered, brother.”

“Right, right. That’s how it should be. Our Tan has come to his senses.”

“Hehehehehe.”

Seeing his younger brother holding his hands and smiling good-naturedly, no, Orc-naturedly, Patrick’s belief that physical therapy was the best treatment became even more firm.

“I brought alcohol too, so take some breaks while you work.”

“Yes. Brother. Thank you.”

The High Orc Tutan’s waist bent 90 degrees. And the other Orcs watching the scene shuddered inwardly and thought.

‘As expected of the great warrior. Rebellion is dangerous.’

‘He’s a crazy and dangerous warrior. I will never rebel.’

‘Mom, that crazy human is scary.’

The Orcs here were all those who had knelt to Tutan’s power.

Rebelling against Patrick, who had beaten such a Tutan to a pulp and made him an obedient puppy, was unthinkable.

In the end, Tutan’s rebellion had benefited Patrick. And….

“Everyone, rest. The great warrior has brought alcohol. There’s whole-roast pig barbecue too.”

At those words, the faces of the Orc warriors who had been working hard changed completely.

“Alcohol?”

“It’s alcohol, alcohol.”

“There’s food too. Delicious food made by humans!”

“Woooooooaaaaar! Let’s finish quickly!”

“Oooooooh!”

There were also carrots that the Orcs would go crazy for.

Delicious food and alcohol made by humans were a feast for the Orcs.

The Red Rock Orc tribe had gotten used to it while living with the Schneider fiefdom, but the other Orcs literally went wild.

A well-seasoned pork barbecue with a bottle of strong liquor was heaven to them.

Their motivation soared, and they were thoroughly destroying the forest and clearing the Moana River basin at a visible speed.

Watching the scene, Aron expressed his admiration.

“Amazing. It’s to the point of being beautiful.”

“Even from the Guild Master’s perspective, right?”

“How could it not be?”

“As expected, the Guild Master and I are on the same wavelength.”

“Hahaha. Wouldn’t anyone be?”

And the two of them opened their mouths at the same time.

“Low-wage, high-efficiency labor is truly beautif… huh?”

“Everyone crossing the walls of race like this… huh?”

A moment of silence flowed.

And Patrick was the first to speak….

“Ah, that’s what I meant. That is beautiful.”

“…….”

Patrick avoided Aron’s gaze for no reason and fanned himself with his hand.

This person is staring too intently.

How embarrassing….

“Ahem, anyway, the important thing is that the clearing of the Great Forest’s farmland is proceeding quickly.”

“Right. That’s true.”

“If possible, I’d like to sow before summer, but would that be possible?”

“It would be difficult. No matter what, summer is not the season for planting wheat.”

“Think carefully. There must be something that can be planted in the summer.”

“Vegetable types might be possible…”

“Is there nothing besides greens?”

“Root vegetables like carrots or sweet potatoes would work.”

“Ummm…. Well, we can eat those too.”

He wanted to fill this vast farmland to the brim with wheat and barley, but Patrick knew.

The farming season was not something his tantrums could change.

“It can’t be helped. Then please send some seeds accordingly. And more farming tools, please.”

“Alright. Ah! And on the way here, I saw some land suitable for raising sheep or horses. Would you like to give it a try?”

“Livestock farming in the Great Forest…. Well, let’s give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, we can just not do it then.”

At Patrick’s gruff words, Aron smiled with satisfaction.

It was a fresh reminder, but his talent as a merchant was truly outstanding.

A merchant who feared failure and was overly cautious to the point of redundancy was limited to a small firm.

To become a true great merchant, one needed to not fear failure and be able to take on challenges boldly.

Even if they failed, they needed the guts to use the experience gained from it for the next time.

At first, he had joined in largely because he was his son’s friend, but now….

‘He is fully worth betting the future of our guild on.’

He didn’t know how far this man would go, but he would go with him to the end.

“Ah, by the way, how are things in the Yusef Kingdom?”

Patrick asked in passing.

He had instructed Red to consistently gather information, but the information network of the Elbador Merchant Guild could not be ignored.

That’s why he had told him to consistently observe the trends in the Yusef Kingdom.

“After winning the war with the Flame Kingdom, they are annexing the nation without any major issues.”

“Uniting nations shouldn’t be that easy, though?”

“That’s true. But I heard he accepted Princess Katherina, the descendant of the Spirit Royal Family, as his queen and is implementing non-discriminatory policies for the people of the conquered Flame Kingdom.”

“…….”

“It’s not just for show. He has actually lowered taxes and is even paying subsidies to those who lost family in the war. There was also an incident like this.”

“What incident?”

“It happened while the Hegemon King was on an inspection tour…”

* * *

It was a time not long after the Hegemon King Cierion had conquered the Flame Kingdom.

He was inspecting the streets to observe the public sentiment.

A large crowd gathered to see him, and the knights who came out for escort were sweating profusely while controlling the crowd. In the midst of that….

“My father’s enemy!”

With that shout, a young boy jumped towards the Hegemon King’s chest.

And right after that….

“Your Highness!”

“Nooo!”

By the time the escort knights shouted, the incident had already occurred.

The dagger held in the hands of the boy who had burrowed into Cierion’s embrace was stuck in Cierion’s abdomen, and the king’s blood dripped onto the ground.

Belatedly, the knights approached, subdued the boy with the dagger, and checked the king’s condition.

“Your Highness! Are you alright?”

“I will call a physician immediately.”

To the knights who were hastily checking his wound, Cierion calmly raised his hand and said.

“I am fine. More importantly, let the child go.”

“Your Highness. This child aimed a sword at the king’s body.”

“It’s alright, so let him go. That is an order.”

At Cierion’s words, the knights let go of the subdued boy. And Cierion approached the boy and said.

“Did you lose your father because of me?”

“…….”

The boy didn’t answer.

He just ground his teeth and glared at Cierion.

Cierion looked at the boy with pity and said.

“I am sorry. This is all my sin.”

And he ordered the knights to release the boy.

The knights said they couldn’t, but Cierion was firm.

“Do you intend to make me a heartless king who kills a child?”

In the end, the knights released the boy, and the boy looked at the king with a disbelieving expression.

He had done it with the resolve to die, but the king had forgiven him.

And Cierion said.

“There must be those in this land who have lost their families to me. This boy has mustered the courage to act on behalf of all their grudges. Therefore, this boy will not be punished.”

The people began to murmur.

This was an unconventional event that went against common sense.

A normal king would have had that boy miserably burned at the stake, and would have rooted out related individuals, resulting in at least several hundred deaths.

The fact that blood had been shed from the king’s body held that meaning.

But Cierion forgave the boy and soothed the wounds of the conquered nation.

This incident caused a great shift in the hearts of the people of the Flame Kingdom.

Watching the back of the Hegemon King who walked away confidently on his own two feet while dripping blood, the people murmured.

“Has our former king or the nobles ever cared for us like that?”

“Never. They were the kind of people who wouldn’t give a penny in compensation even if you were run over and killed for blocking a noble’s carriage.”

“Maybe the Hegemon King is a good person.”

“That’s right. He lowered the taxes, and the crime rate has gone down with the knights patrolling more.”

“It certainly seems better to live here now than before.”

And a public opinion in the Flame Kingdom that followed Cierion began to form rapidly.

Also, among the knights and nobles from the Flame Kingdom, not just the common people, the number of those who pledged their loyalty to the Hegemon King began to increase.

* * *

“…That’s what happened. But why are you like that?”

“No, it’s just… so detestable.”

Patrick had an expression as if the whole world was futile. At that, Aron said as if he didn’t understand.

“Why is that? From what I see, it seems the Hegemon King showed mercy and skillfully appeased the conquered nation.”

“…….”

Patrick put a hand to his forehead and let out a sigh.

‘That kid needs to tone down the theatrics. Isn’t it obvious to anyone that it’s an act?’

A guy who has even realized Formed Qi of Intent allowed a surprise attack from an unknown boy and got a hole in his stomach?

Does that even make sense?

Patrick realized that this was all a show. In fact, there were probably many others besides Patrick who realized it.

But what’s important in times like these is not the truth.

It is the reality that the beautiful tale of the Hegemon King is spreading.

Was it called ‘Three men make a tiger’?

Even a lie, if it has a bit of plausibility and there are people who diligently spread it, becomes the truth.

“This is why Liu Bei threw his kid in front of Zhao Yun.”

The Flame Kingdom would probably find it difficult to escape Cierion’s rule.

If Cierion actually implements good governance now and a beautiful tale like this is added on top, the people of the conquered nation will quickly accept their new ruler.

Patrick let out a sigh and said.

“Please keep a close watch on the border region between the Decator Kingdom and the Yusef Kingdom in the south. Let me know immediately if even a minor dispute arises.”

“Do you really think the Yusef Kingdom will invade the Decator Kingdom? The war just ended.”

“Logically, it doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t, but…”

Looking at the world, there are sometimes guys who act recklessly, defying common sense.

“He will do it.”

“…….”

“Definitely.”

Patrick was certain.
