Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 209. Let’s Go Back (1)

Patrick’s work in Evergreen was all finished.

So now it was time to leave.

Actually, he wanted to leave quickly.

Because he was scared.

“Sir Patrick, if you leave so soon…”

“I’m leaving because of you.”

“…Pardon?”

“Because of you…”

“…Pardon?”

“No, it’s nothing.”

Patrick avoided Elione’s eyes.

‘Whoa there.’

This was scary.

Regardless of the level of power, Elione’s gaze was genuinely terrifying.

How on earth did she create that swirl in her pupils?

Patrick tried hard to avoid Elione’s gaze and looked at Kirios.

Kirios, wearing a crown made of laurel, came out with the elders behind him to see Patrick off.

As they say, the position makes the man; he was beginning to have the demeanor of a king.

Meanwhile, Kirios looked at Patrick with a mixture of feelings.

The enemy who stole his sister’s heart, the benefactor of his race, the being of hope who would carry on the new World Tree, and at the same time, the culprit who instigated his well-living people to move far away to the Great Forest…

‘Why is it so complicated?’

Kirios shook his head to clear his dizzy thoughts.

And he said calmly.

“It will take some time to move the entire clan. But we will move the clan to the Schneider Fiefdom as quickly as possible. The method will be to first send an advance party and then gradually increase the number of people…”

“You take care of the small details. And…”

Patrick approached Kirios and whispered in his ear.

“If by any chance something happens that you can’t handle on your own, call me anytime.”

“Sir Patrick.”

Kirios looked at Patrick with a moved expression.

“I’ll help you out for a cheap price.”

“……”

Although that emotion quickly faded.

Patrick laughed heartily and patted Kirios’s back.

“Well then, I’m off. See you again later.”

And watching Patrick mount his horse and ride away, Kirios smiled bitterly.

‘What an incomprehensible human.’

Humans were generally a difficult race to understand, but that human was especially so.

But the World Tree had left its seed to him.

That was as good as being a divinely appointed leader for the Elven race.

Even if Patrick were to lead them to hell, they would willingly follow. But…

“Even if it weren’t the will of the World Tree, I would have followed the path you take.”

Kirios muttered as he watched Patrick’s departing back.

***

On the way out of the forest, Patrick crossed his arms and was lost in thought.

“Hmm, this is a big problem.”

Patrick pondered.

“Ah, this is truly frightening. Frightening.”

Matthew, who was riding his horse next to him, looked at Patrick with half-closed eyes.

Looking around, he saw Riman and Isabella sending him glances that urged him to ask quickly.

Of course, Matthew didn’t want to.

‘Why me?’

‘Aren’t you his friend?’

‘Senior, aren’t you his fiancée?’

‘You want a beating?’

The two exchanged a conversation with their eyes for a moment.

But as is the case in most worldviews that revolve around Patrick, the strong one was always the boss.

Matthew was now a mature 4-star swordsman and wasn’t weak by any means, but his standing here was different.

“Patrick.”

“A crane among chickens, that’s me… Huh? Why?”

“I really don’t want to ask, but I’ll ask anyway.”

“What?”

“Why did you suddenly come down with a case of genius-itis and make everyone around you uncomfortable?”

At Matthew’s words, Riman and Isabella nodded their heads with expressions that said, ‘That’s exactly what I was thinking.’

Then Patrick shrugged with the most obnoxious expression in the world and said.

“Tsk tsk tsk, this is why incompetent commoners can’t understand the anguish of this genius.”

“……”

“I am currently marveling at my own achievements and genius, lost in the contemplation of why the world has fashioned me so perfectly.”

At Patrick’s words, Matthew looked up at the sky and said.

“O Yupinel, why did you make me weaker in fights than him? Why? For what reason, why?”

He had never felt so resentful about being weaker than Patrick Schneider in a fight.

To such a Matthew, Patrick said.

“No, think about it. Originally, I set a big goal when I came out for my knight’s training. Do you know what that is?”

“To lead the world into a crucible of chaos and death?”

“Hehehe, you really want me to do that?”

“Whoa whoa, calm down, my friend.”

You seem like you could actually do it, and that’s what’s scary.

When Matthew hastily soothed him, Patrick pouted his lips and then continued as if giving him a pass.

“A sucker for the development of the Great Forest, no, a slave, no, a pushover, no, um… what was it? It has a similar meaning, but that word I don’t use often…”

“It’s ‘ally,’ Young Master.”

“Ah, right, that’s it.”

How was that a similar word?

“Anyway, I’ve already gathered all the allies I had planned. So quickly. This virtue. This charisma. This genius. What on earth should I do?”

“Just die.”

Bba-eok!

In the end, he got hit.

But Matthew thought as he held his head.

Although what he said was extremely obnoxious…

‘It’s true, though.’

Patrick had persuaded the Tower of Truth, one of the three major powers of the continent, to join his side, and he had persuaded the much more reclusive Elves to join his side.

In the process, he had single-handedly waged war against the military force of a nation, participated in the Elven civil war, and fought against a high-ranking Demon summoned from the Demonic Realm.

The fact that one person did all this was an amazing feat in itself.

‘Is he the eye of a storm that shakes the era?’

He had to admit it.

This guy he had befriended would become a major figure who would leave a significant mark on the history of the continent.

“Aaaah… It’s frightening. My own genius is frightening.”

“……”

Although extremely obnoxious, it was true.

Just then, Isabella, who had been listening, said.

“So, are you done with what you had to do now?”

“I suppose so.”

“Then shouldn’t we be heading back?”

At her words, Patrick, who had been lost in self-admiration, paused and said with a contemplative expression.

“That’s the problem.”

“What’s the problem now?”

You crazy bastard.

The last part was omitted.

And Patrick sighed and said.

“The thing is, I was too competent and achieved my goal too quickly. I still have another year and a half left of my knight’s training period.”

“Ah…”

Come to think of it, Patrick was still a 4th-year student at the Academy.

This meant he had plenty of time until graduation. And that meant…

“What should I do with this spare time? Should I go mess up the Dwarves in the south? Should I go to the Holy Theocracy and mess up the Paladins? What’s the old Sword Saint up to these days? Isn’t it about time for him to go?”

Why was everything about messing things up?

And who was he sending? Where?

No, wait, what was even more serious was…

‘He’ll do it. That bastard will do it.’

‘He’s more than capable.’

‘In fact, it seems like he really can do it.’

The three sane people who heard Patrick’s monologue felt a serious sense of crisis.

This was really not good.

They felt a conviction that, if they had any conscience, they shouldn’t let that walking disaster roam the continent.

Look at the words coming out of his mouth.

Dwarves? Paladins? Sword Saint?

Others might think it was a joke, but they knew.

That was definitely not a joke.

“Patrick, calm down. First, calm down.”

“Dwarves, Paladins, Sword Saint.”

“Get a grip, you crazy bastard!”

“Which one should I mess up first? Hehehe.”

“Why are you messing them all up?”

“There’s a reason for everything.”

“What reason?”

“I’ll have to think about that in due time.”

“What is your identity?!”

This couldn’t be. This couldn’t be stopped.

Just as the group was enveloped in despair.

The group had already left the forest of Evergreen.

And they could see it.

A group of what looked like several hundred people, heavily armed and waiting for them.

“Huh? What’s that…?”

“It’s not the army of the Kaisar Kingdom.”

“No. That’s our country’s flag.”

Surprisingly, the flag that the several hundred soldiers were flying was the flag of the Kingdom of Atronia.

And what was more surprising was…

“They’re out.”

“Senior, they’re out.”

That there were familiar people here.

The ones who recognized Patrick and his group and shouted in a commotion were Gerard and Kalin, who had graduated from the Academy. And the one who appeared after hearing their voices was…

“Oh, Patrick, you’re here. And it’s been a while, Princess.”

There was Alex Rowensky, who had previously participated as a representative for Arcana with Patrick.

Even the great Patrick was flustered by their sudden appearance.

“Uh, seniors, why are you here?”

“Hahaha. Why would a knight be here? Of course, to carry out an order given by the state.”

At Alex’s words, Patrick nodded his head and said.

“To come to a distant foreign country with this many troops to carry out a mission… It must be quite a grand one.”

“Well, you could say that.”

“Kuh, you’ve made it big, senior. And whose fault is that? I hope you haven’t forgotten that it’s because of me, Patrick Schneider.”

“……”

“I hope you haven’t forgotten.”

“……”

“While I’m still being nice.”

“Right. This is all thanks to you.”

“Hahaha. Why, what’s with all the flattery, senior?”

Riman Ciera, who had been watching the warm reunion between the senior and junior after a long time, said.

“Isn’t that person named Alex a senior and currently a knight, so isn’t he of higher rank?”

“That is true. It is, but…”

“……”

“It’s Patrick, isn’t it?”

Seeing Matthew’s utterly empty expression, Riman nodded his head.

“I see I’ve asked a foolish question.”

“Thank you for understanding.”

Riman now understood.

That one should not expect common sense when dealing with Patrick Schneider.

“So what really brought you here? Senior, you’re part of the Royal Knightly Order now, right?”

“That’s right. I’m here to carry out a royal decree received directly from His Majesty the King.”

“Heeh… I see. Well then, good luck.”

And Patrick waved his hand and was about to move away.

But Alex hastily grabbed Patrick and…

“Wait.”

“Ah, why?”

“Don’t you have any thoughts seeing your direct senior carrying out a royal decree from His Majesty the King?”

“You’re working hard.”

“……”

“You must be going through a lot of trouble.”

A junior like this…

Alex sighed and said.

“More importantly, don’t you think you should help with this mission?”

“Yes. I don’t.”

Alex sighed. Then…

“Please help me out.”

He just said it outright.

“For free?”

The same thought came to him again.

A junior like this…

Alex let out a deep sigh.

Behind him, Gerard and Kalin nodded their heads and clenched their fists as if to cheer him on.

What could he do?

To carry out this mission, Patrick’s cooperation was absolutely necessary.

Alex said to Patrick.

“I’ll treat you later.”

“Hmm…”

“Please, just help me. I can’t do this without you. Don’t you feel sorry for your senior?”

“Tsk, if you say so…”

“Will you cooperate?”

“Alright. I’ll do it.”

He had finally gotten the answer he wanted after almost begging.

In that moment, a strange light glinted in Alex’s eyes.

“You said you’d do it. You definitely said it. You said it with your own mouth.”

“Geez, I said alright. Just tell me what the mission is…”

Click.

It was then.

Alex quickly took something out from his bosom, brought it to Patrick’s wrist, and fastened it.

Huh, what’s this?

This silver, shiny object, structured perfectly for restraining both hands, was…

‘Handcuffs?’

It was equipment commonly used by the constabulary or the knightly order to restrain criminals.

And Alex, who had handcuffed Patrick’s wrist, said quickly.

“Year 1523. September 15th, 17:30. Suspect secured.”

“…Huh?”

“Suspect, Patrick Schneider.”

“…Eh?”

“Charge, Patrick Schneider.”

“…Haa?”

This was absurd.

Rather than being angry, Patrick was dumbfounded.

This senior suddenly put silver bracelets on his wrists and then arrest? Suspect? And what? The charge was Patrick Schneider?

“Hey you… What do you think you’re doing?!”

Patrick shouted a beat later.

Then Alex flinched and said.

“You said you’d cooperate. You said you’d cooperate, right? Then cooperate quietly!”

“Is this cooperation? Huh? Is this cooperation?”

“Yes. This is cooperation. Do you have a problem with that?”

Wow, look at this senior talk.

He’s become quite shameless.

Patrick looked at his companions with a dumbfounded expression and said.

“Say something. Does this make any…”

And Patrick saw it.

“Did you hear that? The charge is Patrick Schneider.”

“Tsk tsk tsk, how could he commit such a grave crime…”

“There are things a person should and shouldn’t do.”

The ones huddled together and chattering were already treating Patrick like a convicted criminal.

I’m going to really get them.

Just then, Gerard placed a hand on Patrick’s shoulder and said.

“Give up, Patrick. The evidence is clear.”

“What evidence?”

“The evidence, Patrick Schneider.”

“You want to die?!”

“I believe you can become a new person. Quietly pay for your sins and… Keok!”

Gerard, who was speaking, was hit by Patrick’s kick to the groin and collapsed, foaming at the mouth.

“The criminal is resisting!”

“No.”

“Run!”

Shouldn’t they normally be shouting to catch him?

Well, he understood.

Kwachang!

“Kekekeke… You guys, you’ve really been asking for it.”

Seeing Patrick, who had shattered the handcuffs and revealed his madness, running away was indeed the right answer.

If they could, that is.

“It seems you’ve lost your touch after living comfortably in the knightly order after graduation…”

“Hey, calm down. It’s us. Us. Your direct seniors.”

“Let’s calm down, junior. Okay?”

“We’re here to carry out a direct order from His Majesty the King… Keoheok!”

Alex, who was speaking, was hit by Patrick’s uppercut that had shot into his gut like lightning and was sent soaring high into the sky.

And before Alex, who had been launched into the sky, could even hit the ground, Patrick shouted.

“I am Patrick Schneider, you senior bastards!”

A natural disaster, Patrick Schneider.

Thus, the curtain rose on a tragedy.
