Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 76. Still Can’t Get a Feel for It (3)

The morning sun rose dazzlingly.

With a swishing sound, the curtains were drawn, and the dazzling morning sunlight poured into the room.

“Uuuuung…”

Patrick, as if disliking the sunlight, pulled the blanket over his head and wrapped himself up. But….

“Young Master. You must attend class.”

“Uhm…. Why? I’m in detention, aren’t I?”

“The detention ended yesterday. You must participate in classes starting today.”

“Huh? Really?”

Patrick groggily opened his eyes and sat up.

In front of him, April, dressed in a neat butler’s uniform, was waiting with his school uniform.

“Ah, I wanted to rest a bit more.”

“Please wash up and get ready. I will prepare breakfast.”

“Tsk, I guess I have no choice.”

Unfortunately, the sweet detention was over.

He had been rolling around in his room during the detention period, and when night came, he would go to the tavern run by Red and drink free alcohol, eating and playing well.

Is that how detention is supposed to be done?

Of course not.

It’s just because it’s him.

Anyway, Patrick washed up, ate the breakfast April had prepared, and went out to attend class.

Behind the departing Patrick, April bowed her head politely and greeted him.

“Please try to cause trouble gently. Young Master.”

“Alright.”

Shouldn’t she have told him not to cause any trouble in the first place?

The number of 1st-grade students at the Academy had decreased slightly.

Due to the trouble Patrick had caused, Roist had become a wreck, and about half of those who followed him had not yet returned.

Originally, there were about 100 1st-grade students.

If they were lined up in a perfect 10-column formation, it would have looked sharp, but now there were gaps here and there. And….

“Uh, what? Do I have to line up too?”

There was a person who appeared late to a place where everyone else was lined up and said a word.

It was Patrick.

The professor looked at such a Patrick and said.

“Are you Patrick Schneider?”

“Yes. Who are you, Professor?”

“I am Professor Grent of the Knight Faculty.”

To the professor who was looking down on him arrogantly, Patrick said with a nonchalant expression.

“Ah, really? How do you doooo.”

“……”

It was a greeting that seemed to say, ‘All the swagger in the world, gather your strength and give it to me.’

‘Is this guy really an aspiring knight?’

No matter how you look at it, it seems he’s on the wrong path.

The professor cleared his throat and continued.

“Ahem. Go and stand over there in the back. The class will begin shortly.”

“Yeeeees.”

Patrick moved as he was told with slow steps. Every single action was grating on his nerves, but the professor just frowned.

“Patrick, you shouldn’t get on the professor’s bad side.”

“Huh? You are…”

Coincidentally, the spot where Patrick had lined up was behind someone he knew.

“Matt?”

“It’s Matthew.”

“Right, Stew. Nice to see you.”

“……”

Matthew lowered his head with a sad expression.

At this point, it was clear he had no intention of memorizing his name.

Just then, the professor said.

“Today, we will have a sparring practice with the upperclassmen. The 2nd and 3rd graders will be your opponents.”

At the professor’s words, the students’ faces lit up with excitement.

There was much to be learned from a spar with a senior.

Furthermore, if they were 2nd and 3rd graders of the Academy, they were clearly stronger than them.

As the professor’s words ended, a group of people appeared from one side of the training ground.

Those in blue uniforms were the 2nd graders, and those in purple uniforms were the 3rd graders.

The 1st graders in white uniforms were extremely tense at the appearance of their seniors.

The Knight Faculty was originally famous for its strict discipline between seniors and juniors.

“But there are fewer 3rd graders than 2nd graders. Is it usually like that?”

Except for Patrick.

At Patrick’s nonchalant words, the other 1st graders looked at him with an expression that said, ‘You don’t even know that?’

But Patrick shot them a look that said, ‘What are you going to do about it, you bastards? Aren’t you going to lower your eyes?’

Just then, Matthew said in a small voice.

“The Academy’s promotion exams are originally difficult. That’s why the number of students decreases as you go up in grades.”

“Ah, really?”

Come to think of it, he seemed to have heard something like that.

Only a very small number of Academy students graduated properly, and most of them would keep failing the promotion exams and then drop out on their own at an appropriate time.

Even if they dropped out in the middle, they were already treated as excellent talents in society, so it wasn’t something to be ashamed of.

As a result, there were only 50 2nd-grade students at the Academy now.

And there were only about 30 3rd graders.

The 4th and 5th graders were on a separate training journey outside the Academy.

Patrick looked at the 2nd and 3rd graders with a nonchalant expression, then his eyes sparkled slightly.

“Hey, Stew.”

“It’s Matthew.”

“Anyway, that woman standing at the head of the 3rd graders over there, who is shuuuut!”

“Hey, hey, hey. Hey.”

Matthew hurriedly covered Patrick’s mouth.

And then, he said in a small, crawling voice.

“You can’t speak so carelessly. That’s Princess Isabella.”

“Mmm? Mmm mmm?”

“Right. The princess. Do you understand what I’m saying. Aak!”

Patrick bit Matthew’s fingers.

“Ptooey, how long are you going to keep it covered?”

“It hurts…”

“Look at the aspiring knight being a crybaby. What are you going to do if a monster bites you?”

“It’s bleeding.”

“So what?”

“No. Nothing…”

Matthew lowered his head sullenly.

It seemed that this new friend of his was a bit far from normal.

Anyway, even if he was a strange friend, a friend was a friend, so he couldn’t just let him commit something like lèse-majesté without knowing, could he?

And Patrick thought as he looked at the princess.

‘A princess is royalty, right? I’m a noble, so…. Wait, do I have to be loyal to her? Me? This Radiant Dragon Great Master, Jin Cheon? Loyal?’

He had to.

That was the fated superior-inferior relationship between one born into a feudal noble family and one born into royalty in a feudal society.

In principle, that was correct. It was correct, but….

‘…Me?’

In fact, from Patrick’s perspective, this was something he couldn’t help but feel a sense of rejection towards.

Patrick was a person of the Jianghu in his past life.

There were many things that signified the identity of a person of the Jianghu, but among them, the most famous was the unwritten rule that the government and the Jianghu do not interfere with each other.

A person of the Jianghu does not go to the government office and whine about being stabbed somewhere.

The government also ignores whether people of the Jianghu have a knife fight or not, as long as the common people are not involved, no, in fact, as long as a large number of them are not involved.

As a result, for the people of the Jianghu, officials were people they should just treat with indifference.

As for the emperor or the royal family, they only had a vague notion that ‘such things exist.’

But when he was reborn, huh?

He was a noble.

A body that had to swear loyalty to the royal family from birth.

Until now, he was a minor noble from a remote village, so he had no chance of getting involved with the royal family.

But now, at this very moment, there was a real royal in front of him.

A person whom Patrick would naturally have to serve if he wanted to live as a noble in this world.

‘Serve? Me? Whom? Royalty? Me?’

Patrick had never served anyone in his entire past life.

If he had to say, his Master was the closest to it, but strictly speaking, serving and following are different, aren’t they?

Whether it was the sect leader of a prestigious orthodox sect or the leader of the Murim Alliance, if they got on his nerves, he would just…

[Come here! You bastards.]

[A problem? A proooblem? I’ll teach you personally how I solve most of the problems in this world!]

[Die! Die! Die!]

It was like that.

Such a Patrick swearing loyalty to someone?

This was a major event that would shake his entire identity.

“Ugh…. Well, let’s decide after seeing.”

“Decide what?”

“There’s something.”

Patrick looked at the woman called the princess intently.

As if he were appraising her.

Isabella Black Atronia.

Black hair and white skin.

And with her mysterious silver eyes, she created a fantastical atmosphere.

She was wrapped in a knight’s uniform instead of a dress, and held a sword instead of a jewel in her hand, but her beauty was not diminished at all.

On the contrary, she looked even more haughty and beautiful.

The expressions of the 1st graders looking at her were as if they were bewitched by something.

“I heard the rumors, but…”

“The rumors don’t do her justice. I never thought she’d be this beautiful.”

“Indeed, that’s why she’s known as the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.”

“I heard even the imperial family of the empire proposed to her.”

Hearing the whispering of the 1st graders, Patrick smirked.

‘Most beautiful woman in the kingdom, my ass.’

In the end, this was also the same as the Jianghu.

If a very pretty girl was born into a prestigious family, they would say she was the prettiest in their region.

As a result, the situation where the so-called most beautiful women in the world were all from prestigious orthodox sects would arise.

“Ahem…. Those dirty prestigious orthodox sect bastards, were you satisfied only after taking everything?”

“What are you talking about?”

“There’s something. Something like that.”

“……?”

“Anyway, those things called prestigious orthodox sects are just full of greed. Why do those Emei Sect kids care about their looks when they’re supposed to be serving Buddha? What does being pretty have to do with Buddha? This is all…”

It was Patrick, endlessly grumbling.

Matthew couldn’t understand, but Patrick was now enraged at the tyranny of those called the prestigious orthodox sects of the Jianghu, who were only satisfied when they had everything good for themselves.

Even though his own wife was the most beautiful in Sichuan.

And so, while Patrick was continuing his lone struggle against the absurdities of the Jianghu and the pettiness of the prestigious orthodox sects inside his head….

A 3rd grader approached and said.

“Are you Patrick Schneider?”

“Brother, stay out of it. If you don’t want to die.”

“……?”

“Ah, I’m sorry. What did you say?”

Then, the 3rd grader said with a sour expression.

“I’m Luon of the 3rd grade.”

“Ah, really.”

“It’s sparring time, and you don’t seem to have an opponent.”

“That’s true. Will you be my opponent, senior?”

At Patrick’s words, the 3rd grader who had introduced himself as Luon nodded and said.

“Come this way.”

“Yeeeees. What a hassle.”

“……”

Looking at Patrick, who had a genuinely annoyed expression, Luon thought.

‘What kind of guy is this?’

This guy is really…
