Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 72. It’ll Be Good for Your Well-Being to Keep That in Mind (1)

Patrick grabbed Professor Leyte’s shoulder, smiled brightly, and said.

“Alright. Then I’ll be counting on you for a long time to come.”

“Ah…, yes. Of course, that…”

“Don’t worry. Do you think I’d make any unreasonable demands? I’ll provide you with opportunities to repay my grace appropriately, with a clear conscience.”

“Um…. Ah…. Well, that…”

“For your reference.”

“……”

“People who promise to repay a grace and then wipe their mouths clean are the twenty-first thing I hate.”

“……”

“It’ll be good for your well-being to keep that in mind.”

“……”

As he was being threatened by Patrick, Professor Leyte thought.

‘Why does he have so many things he hates?’

On the first day of entering the Academy.

Patrick had made a professor his backer.

* * *

“Really? Are you sure?”

“Yeah. No doubt.”

“A baron from a remote village in the East? Is that really true?”

“Yes. It’s a fact I found out after paying the administration kids and thoroughly investigating the peerage register.”

Hearing those words, Roist gritted his teeth.

Geudeudeuk.

‘So some country bumpkin from a nobody rural noble family dared to do that to me?’

To Roist, who couldn’t stand the humiliation, the subordinate, who was also his friend, standing in front of him said.

“What are you going to do?”

“What do you mean, what am I going to do?”

“……”

“I’m going to crush that bastard.”

“He seemed to have some skill…”

“Numbers are unbeatable.”

“Well, that’s…”

“Don’t worry, just call the guys. I’m going to crush that bastard.”

“Alright. I’ll do that.”

Roist said, with bloodshot eyes.

“Patrick Schneider. You’re dead.”

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

You shouldn’t do that.

* * *

“It’s all done.”

“Just do it roughly. Why are you putting so much effort into this?”

“The Madam would be proud if she saw you.”

“She can’t see me, can she?”

Patrick smirked and looked at his reflection in the mirror.

There was his own image, wearing the school uniform of a 1st-grade student of the Academy’s Knight Faculty.

This school uniform, adorned with luxurious fabric and a crest indicating one’s affiliation, was the most coveted attire for young men of Patrick’s age.

‘Well, it’s not bad.’

April, who had dressed Patrick in his school uniform, saw him off and said.

“Attendants are not allowed during classes, so you must go alone.”

“I know.”

“You remember the entire class schedule, right? You also remember where you’ll be taking classes, right?”

“I said I know.”

“If you happen to get lost, don’t just wander off. You must find a staff member nearby and ask for directions.”

“Ah, I said I know, am I a kid?”

“You have not yet had your coming-of-age ceremony.”

“Ugh…. The years I’ve actually lived…. Let’s just drop it.”

If you add the years of his past life, he could be said to be nearing sixty.

But in reality, he was a brat who had to be careful even when drinking alcohol.

‘It’s pathetic. So pathetic. I need to have that coming-of-age ceremony or whatever soon.’

And so, Patrick left April behind and went out.

In fact, although he felt annoyed, he also felt a sense of novelty.

‘To think I’d attend a school in my lifetime. And at this age, too.’

For the Patrick of his past life, a school was a place that had no connection to him whatsoever.

What was a school anyway?

Wasn’t it a place where the children of well-to-do families gathered to study in order to get a government position and live even better?

It was impossible for poor people, busy just trying to survive, to go to school.

Although he had heard of determined people who would do things like study by night while farming by day, Patrick had never seen one in his life.

‘It’s likely a lie.’

Anyway, he was attending such a school, no, an Academy.

And a rather respectable one at that.

As befitting an institution for nurturing carefully selected talents from within the kingdom, it was filled with the latest facilities on a vast site, and the social treatment and perception of its students were excellent.

On his first day at such an Academy, even the great Patrick Schneider couldn’t help but feel a little excited.

Yes. It was definitely like that until a minute ago.

“Country bumpkin. Let me see you for a moment.”

“…Elite nurturing institution, my ass…. All places where people live are the same.”

That was before he saw the group of people blocking his path.

They appeared out of nowhere, surrounding him from front and back as if they had been waiting, and they looked very skilled at it.

Seeing them, who were wearing the same 1st-grade Knight Faculty uniform as Patrick, Patrick pondered.

‘Should I crush them now? Or should I move to another place and crush them?’

To the pondering Patrick, the opponent said with a swaggering smile.

“Let’s go to a good place. A really good place.”

“A good place?”

“Yes. A place where you won’t be noticed by others, no matter how loudly you scream.”

“Hoooh, there’s such a prime spot?”

It was geographical information that he could use for a long time to come if he knew it.

‘Let’s go and crush them.’

“Alright. Lead the way.”

As Patrick obediently agreed to follow, those who had surrounded him nodded and moved, sticking close to Patrick’s front and back.

And the place they arrived at after moving was….

“This is the good place?”

It was the Knight Faculty’s training ground.

He had wondered where they were going, but they had arrived at a place he was seeing for the third time.

Then, the opponent said.

“Here, no matter how much you scream, it’s fine, and if anything happens, we can use the excuse of a spar.”

“Aaaah. I see.”

Patrick nodded as if he had learned something good and slapped his palm with his fist.

“……”

“……”

“……”

At this point, even those who had brought Patrick here couldn’t help but think.

‘What’s with this bastard?’

It was a very natural question that most people who encountered Patrick Schneider would have.

Just then, as if on cue, one person appeared.

A man, covered head to toe in plate mail, armed with a shield and a longsword, and even wearing a full-face helmet, appeared and said.

“You did well not to run away. Country bumpkin.”

“……”

“It’s too late to cry and beg for forgiveness now that you’re scared.”

“Uhm…”

Patrick’s brow furrowed.

To Patrick, who seemed to be pondering something, the opponent said.

“No, if you crawl like a dog, pass through my legs, and bark three times, I might just beat you up a little less painfully. Kehehehe…. How about it, want to try?”

“Um…. I have a question.”

“…What is it?”

“Who… are you?”

“……”

“I don’t think we’ve met before.”

At Patrick’s words, the opponent raised the faceplate of his full-face helmet and said.

“It’s me. Who else could it be but me? You idiot.”

“Aah…. You’re that guy from yesterday…”

“Yes. I am the one…”

“The Pooper.”

“Keoheok…”

Roist grabbed the back of his neck and looked up at the sky.

For the first time in his nearly 20 years of life, he felt the emotion, ‘So this is true rage.’

And Patrick said.

“You were running so hard yesterday, could it be…. Ah…”

Patrick looked at Roist with pitying eyes.

Your social reputation has been greatly damaged. I see.

At that expression, which was full of such feelings, Roist yelled.

“No. It’s not that, you bastard.”

“Right. Got it. I’ll pretend it’s not that.”

“It’s not ‘pretend it’s not that,’ it’s really not that. I said it’s not.”

“Alright. Alright.”

Patrick nodded with a warm smile, as if he understood everything.

“Ke…. Keoheok…”

Roist felt like he was going crazy.

He hadn’t been hit a single time yet, but it hurt more than if he had been.

Born as the son of a marquis, this was the first time he had experienced such humiliation.

Even as he was about to collapse, clutching the back of his neck, Patrick looked around and said.

“You guys pretend you don’t know either. If you put yourselves in his shoes, how embarrassing would it be? Right?”

‘I’ll… I’ll kill him. I’ll kill him.’

It was Roist, who for the first time in his life, genuinely thought he had to kill someone.

He gritted his teeth and said.

“The spar begins now. Country bumpkin.”

“Why?”

“……”

Does the word ‘why’ normally come up in the middle of this?

For those who had ganged up on someone multiple times, the ‘why’ that came out at this juncture was a new experience.

And Roist said.

“No words are needed. I will repay yesterday’s humiliation.”

“It’s not my fault you pooped your pants, is it?”

“I DIDN’T!”

It was Roist, charging at him as if he didn’t want to exchange any more words.

Patrick was unarmed, dressed in a light school uniform, and bare-handed.

And Roist was wearing a full set of plate armor and even held a real sword and shield in his hands.

This couldn’t even be called a spar. But….

Jjeoong!

“Keok…”

Roist’s eyes flashed.

By the time he felt like something had flown at him, his head had already been snapped to the side.

And then….

“Here. Here.”

Patrick was in front of him, lightly shaking his fist.

“You son of a biiiitch!”

The moment Roist tried to swing his sword in that direction….

Clang! Rip! Boom!

A series of lightning-fast blows rained down on Roist’s entire body.

Although Roist was covered head to toe in plate mail and had a chain mail underneath it….

“Keu…. Keoheok!”

The pain of the blows was transmitted directly through.

‘How…. How?’

He didn’t even know where or how he had been hit.

When he came to his senses, there wasn’t a single place on his body that didn’t hurt.

And above all, it was too painful.

It was a pain as if he had been hit with a full swing of a giant battle hammer, not a bare fist.

He couldn’t understand how this was possible.

There was nothing in Patrick’s hands when he looked again.

Patrick looked at such a Roist and said with a pathetic expression.

“Tsk tsk, you thought wrapping yourself in some scrap iron would make things better?”

“You…, you, how can you with your bare hands…”

“You’re asking why it hurts when I hit your armor with my bare hands?”

“…Th-that’s right.”

He couldn’t understand.

What Patrick had hit was definitely the top of the armor.

And the armor was perfectly fine, without a single dent.

However, the body of Roist inside it was taking the full impact of Patrick’s blows.

The armor was not doing its job at all.

“Tsk tsk tsk, you brat who doesn’t even know the Internal Injury Technique.”

“Wh-what technique?”

“Well, since you don’t know it, you’d wrap yourself in this uselessly heavy iron plate, wouldn’t you?”

“…What do you mean?”

“You don’t know? You don’t understand?”

“Th-that’s right.”

“Right. Then…”

Patrick said with a wide grin.

“Just take the beating. You bastard!”

And Patrick’s kick went up from below and sent Roist flying.

Jjeoeok!

“Keoeok!”

Roist, who was sent flying into the air with a suffocating pain from the kick that landed squarely in his solar plexus.

What awaited him was the pinnacle of merciless violence.

“Adadadadadadadada!”

Jjeojeojeojeojeojeojeojeojeong!

Would it look like this if lightning fried beans?

Roist, whose weight easily exceeded 100 kilograms due to his full armor, did not come down from the air.

Countless fists and kicks shredded Roist’s body, and each and every blow carried a burst of concentrated force so powerful, it neutralized his armor with ease.

Beyond the armor, Roist experienced the pain of his entire body being tenderized alive.

“Hap!”

Peeeoeok!

Finally, a powerful downward heel kick slammed Roist straight to the ground.

“Uh…. uh uh…”

“Ububu…”

The others were utterly horrified by the sight.

In fact, they knew that Patrick was strong.

Roist was not bad among the 1st graders, but Patrick had played with such a Roist.

But what in the world was this?

They had surrounded and pressured him in a group, and he had ambushed a bare-handed opponent while fully armed.

But to have this result….

“Mon…. Monster.”

“Run…. We have to run.”

At that moment, Patrick’s head turned to the side with a creaking sound.

And then….

“Ruuuuun?”

The moment they heard those words, the others felt their hearts drop.

Patrick walked towards them step by step and said.

“Aaaah…. You came in a group to gang up on me, but now that the situation looks bad, you’re going to run?”

“…Uh…. uh uh…”

“Well…. that…”

“We weren’t trying to gang up on you…”

To the guys making lame excuses, Patrick said.

“Are you bastards messing with me right now?”

“Ut?”

“Uuut…”

A thick killing intent spread and enveloped the brats of the 1st-grade Knight Faculty.

At that moment, they understood what it felt like to be prey caught in a spider’s web.
