My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 601: Chapter 368: A Ship Forged from a God’s Corpse and the Lord of Guanghan City

The Cloud Whale was already enormous. When the project was first green-lit, some experts had suggested taking small steps—building a smaller vessel first, and then a larger one only after successful trials.

But Jiang Cai’Er felt time was of the essence, and with a measure of confidence, she had gone straight for the large model. It was over 3,000 meters long. Keep in mind, a peacetime Ford-class aircraft carrier was only about 333 meters long with a deck width of 78 meters. The Cloud Whale was more than ten times the size of a Ford-class carrier.

Under normal operating conditions, it would have a crew of around sixty thousand. But if used temporarily as a transport ship, it could carry up to three hundred thousand people in a single trip.

As it turned out, it was still too small.

A mass migration of twenty million people would require nearly seventy round trips.

Li Xiang’s Otherworldly Warehouse was vast, but unfortunately, it was unsuitable for transporting living people.

Besides, Guanghan City was still under construction and couldn’t possibly accommodate twenty million people all at once. Therefore, the migration to the Moon had to proceed slowly, with a planned completion time of about one year. When factoring in the Cloud Whale’s maintenance, it might take even longer.

Given that Jiang Cai’Er considered the first-generation Aerospace Carrier too small—and the second and third generations weren’t particularly large either—Li Xiang decided to contribute the carcasses of those Divine Tier Exotic Beasts.

The bones and carapaces of these Divine Tier Exotic Beasts were incredibly sturdy. They could travel through space using only their physical bodies, making them ideal materials for converting into Stellar Mother Ships. Moreover, the smallest among them was over three hundred kilometers long, making the Cloud Whale look like a mere speck in comparison.

Jiang Cai’Er was thrilled. ”If the conversion is successful, the internal space of a single Exotic Beast Mother Ship could be as large as several Underground Cities!” For perspective, the distance from Shanghai to Jinling City is only about two hundred sixty or seventy kilometers. ℯℯ𝑙.

A single Exotic Beast Mother Ship like that could transport tens of millions of people in one trip.

This led them to another thought: if Divine Tier Exotic Beasts were this valuable, what about those at the Divine King Realm? Or even the ones inside the Sun? If they could subjugate all of them and convert them into Aerospace Carriers, they could probably fit the entire population of Earth inside.

”When that time comes, we can form a massive star fleet and embark on an expedition to find a new home!” Jiang Cai’Er’s eyes sparkled with boundless ambition.

Li Xiang also felt a surge of excitement, but it quickly faded into a wry smile. ”I’m not at the Divine King Realm yet. Who knows how long it would take to build a fleet that large. Besides, a lot of people probably wouldn’t want to leave Earth.”

Jiang Cai’Er nodded. She had once considered converting the entire Earth into a battleship, just like in *Wandering Earth*, to see if they could pilot it out of the Black Mist Star Realm in search of a new home. But it was obvious that using Exotic Beast Mother Ships would be far simpler.

”Who do you plan to choose as the City Lord of Guanghan City?” Jiang Cai’Er asked suddenly, remembering the matter.

She had just acquired the carcasses of the Divine Tier Exotic Beasts and needed to devote immense energy to converting them into Aerospace Carriers. Plus, she couldn’t leave Earth. After all, City No. 03 was their main base of operations, where her family, relatives, and friends all lived. She had poured her heart and soul into this city, and with Li Xiang gone, she would have to remain behind to manage it.

Li Xiang considered it for a moment, then said, ”How about we have Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui manage it jointly?”

”Suit yourself.” Jiang Cai’Er pursed her lips, not wanting to get involved. She went straight to work on the design for the new Exotic Beast Aerospace Carrier, already impatient to see the final product.

The conversion was a massive undertaking. Even with robots working around the clock, it was estimated to take one to two years, perhaps even longer.

Meanwhile, Li Xiang went to speak with Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui about it.

The two women were, of course, incredibly excited.

Li Xiang felt a bit apologetic, because Yao Yao was overseeing a city on her own, whereas the two of them would have to share the role of City Lord.

”We’ll be building more Underground Cities on the Moon in the future,” Li Xiang said reassuringly. ”For now, you two can manage this one together to gain some experience. Later, I’ll give each of you your own city.”

Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui exchanged a glance and then smiled in unison. ”We don’t mind at all.”

”You’re being far too considerate of us.”

Seeing that the two women genuinely held no resentment, Li Xiang was relieved. ”Alright then. Spend the next few days arranging the handover of your duties. You’ll head to Guanghan City aboard the Cloud Whale on the trip after next.”

Even though Guanghan City was not yet complete, as its City Lords, they naturally needed to be involved from the construction phase. This would allow them to gain a much deeper understanding of the city.

As for City No. 03, with Jiang Cai’Er overseeing it and so many Saint Tier Exotic Beasts on the surface, there was unlikely to be any trouble.

So, Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui got to work.

Zhao Xueqing’s research team had already cultivated several hundred varieties of high-yield crop seeds. The breeding program for the underground farms on Earth was now well-established, so she was no longer needed in the lab around the clock.

She divided her agricultural scientists into three groups. One group would remain in City No. 03, serving as the national and even global center for agricultural technology and breeding. A second group was dispatched to Los Santos to help Yao Yao establish underground farms and to set up a branch research and breeding center there. The third and most elite group, consisting of over a thousand people, would be brought to the Moon to take charge of constructing the underground farms there.

After all, the environments on the Moon and Earth were vastly different.

However, the lunar soil was quite barren and not well-suited for agriculture. Zhao Xueqing asked Li Xiang for help, wondering if he could transport a sufficient amount of black soil to the Moon. With his boundless Otherworldly Warehouse, it would be a simple matter for him to go to places like Siberia and South America, excavate the rich black earth, and bring it up.
