Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 484: Chapter 246: Opening_3

A two-kilometer underground tunnel, the field car took a full ten minutes to arrive, carrying everyone through the second gate that requires level nine permission to open.

At the entrance to the tunnel, Oliver led the target into the laboratory. Before Oliver could introduce him, he saw the target he led roll his eyes back and faint to the ground, followed by two strangers appearing in front of him.

The ones who showed up were two subordinates, Fei Guang and Chiba continued to hide in the shadows to guard against any tricks Oliver might play.

The two subordinates restrained Oliver and inquired about the information regarding the laboratory.

After some questioning and repeated confirmations, everyone found out that Oliver actually knew nothing. According to Oliver’s original words, this was his first time in this laboratory, and the job of bringing people here was previously handled by Farrell.

Oliver took out a work flow document, edited by the technical consultant Geoffrey, which specifies exactly what actions to take at each step, and each step is even accompanied by diagrams.

Oliver stated that he followed this workflow for all his actions.

Capturing an Oliver who knew nothing wasn’t the worst thing. The even worse news was that according to the work flow’s final note, the field car responsible for the pickup and drop-off was an unmanned vehicle, programmed to automatically return in an hour.

The level nine permission to open the underground tunnel and laboratory was bound to the field car and not to Oliver. If they didn’t catch the field car in time, the laboratory door would close completely.

This means Fei Guang and others only have one hour.

Fei Guang and the others couldn’t afford to continue questioning Oliver.

Questioning, even questioning takes time.

They quickly scattered, searching for any useful information within the laboratory.

Unfortunately, none of them had high-tech hacking abilities nor Wu Chang’s talent for seeing grievances, so their chaotic search naturally ended up with nothing gained.

The method of smuggling by following the field car could only be used once. If they didn’t seize this opportunity, the difficulty of coming back again would increase tenfold.

Fei Guang couldn’t afford to be frugal, took out a contract, and summoned help from outside once again, causing the computer to come alive.

The computer came back to life similarly as the first time, first using Realm of Reason’s crushing hacker technology to modify its own permissions, then quickly reading data from the laboratory.

It quickly found the manufacturing method for Essence Armor and, following the information of Essence Armor, invaded the deepest part of Hymn Company, searching for something.

The search lasted ten minutes, much slower than previously finding the hidden room on the 90th floor.

As the information invasion ended, the computer screen changed, refreshing into a new location.

Fei Guang and others looked at the screen, collectively furrowing their brows. Why was the location identical to where they were?

After several checks, they discovered that the location was directly above them, that is, the plaza on the surface.

Fei Guang slowly said, ”Looks like we need to return to the surface first.”

As soon as Fei Guang finished speaking, the entire underground laboratory began to tremble, the group’s expressions fluctuating with surprise and suspicion. Was it an earthquake, or the automated defense system activating?

It was neither; the entire underground laboratory was rising!

The Iron Armor Corps members ran to the laboratory door, finding the unmanned field car had completely shut down. They attempted using a notebook with level nine permission to open the gate, only to find the door status was completely sealed, with the lockdown permission level being the highest.

They could only watch as the ceiling above them opened layer by layer, the laboratory like a giant elevator, rising to the surface.

As the ascent stopped, they reached the surface. Before they could clearly see their surroundings, a huge shadow descended from the sky, landing right in front of them.

Immediately following, Schultz’s voice echoed from above.

”Come, despicable outsiders, lackeys of the self-proclaimed God, let me see your skills!”
