Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 477: Chapter 244: Nest Mutation

Wu Chang furrowed his brows, always feeling that the Nest below was merely a semi-finished product. Could it be that the reason they discovered the Nest early was because the time hadn’t come?

But judging by the Nest’s status, even if given thirty more days, it shouldn’t be able to birth the core Divinity.

What dissatisfied him even more was that, perhaps due to the manufacturing process, this massive conglomerate of failed experiments harbored no resentment inside.

Seeing that the others were intimidated by the true form of the Nest, Mo Ke continued to speak:

”I admit you all are powerful, but after seeing the Nest, you should understand, it truly possesses the ability to destroy the world, and not something you few can handle.”

”It’s not just that you can’t handle it; I think Schultz’s reliance on large Essence Armor cannot tackle this monster either. If the Praise Poem plan is executed and it’s released, the world will truly be destroyed.”

Wu Chang felt something was off in what he heard. He looked at Mo Ke, puzzled, ”From your words, it seems you don’t support the Praise Poem plan.”

Mo Ke sighed and said, ”Initially, I was in favor, but as time went on, the Nest’s power grew even more enormous and has already begun to spiral out of control. The laboratory’s energy detection devices can no longer measure its limits.”

”Every time I see it, I have nightmares, dreaming that if it were released, the Federation and the world would be destroyed by it.”

Raymond furrowed his brows, feeling nauseated by Mo Ke’s words. Now worried that the release of the Nest would destroy the world, why was he so justified in orchestrating the Sid massacre? Isn’t the destruction of the world a threat to the interests of an upper-tier person like Mo Ke?

Raymond sneered, ”So, Mr. Mo Ke, what do you plan to do?”

Mo Ke was unmoved by Raymond’s sarcasm and said, ”If you want to expose the Hymn Company, I won’t stop you. Afterwards, I can even help expand the public influence, but exposing the Hymn Company, at the very least, we must ensure the world isn’t destroyed.”

”So I need your help; first, help me weaken the Nest, weaken it enough for the Hymn Company to handle, so it will pose no threat to the world.”

There’s no denying that Mo Ke’s proposal was very tempting. Raymond, as a survivor of the Sid massacre, absolutely did not want the past tragedy to repeat before him if he could help it.

And for the Players, if the monster before them is released, the main quest three would surely fail. Stopping the Nest aligns with their interests.

Only Wu Chang remained expressionless, observing everything with a cold eye. He always felt that something unexpected would happen, but couldn’t detect where it would arise.

Raymond hesitated for a moment; reason overpowered his vengeful heart, deciding that even though he might fall into Mo Ke’s trap, he planned to cooperate with Mo Ke first.

He asked, ”What do you plan to do?”

Mo Ke calmly responded, ”I have made preparations long ago. In a while, I plan to inject a special potion into the Nest, causing it to split into two. After splitting, the Nest’s abilities will be greatly weakened, but it will also become enraged.”

”What we need to do is, during its enraged state, lure it out of the laboratory and separate them, breaking them one by one.”

”The plan must not fail. If they merge again, not only will the power not weaken, but it will also become rampaging, causing even greater harm.”

Though Raymond is a certified Hymn Hunter, tackling problems of this caliber required relying on Wu Chang and others. He gave Wu Chang an inquiring look, and Wu Chang nodded.

Receiving Wu Chang’s signal, Raymond said, ”Alright.”

Mo Ke took a deep breath, pulling up the hidden program on the control panel, then said to everyone:

”Attention, it will start soon. Once the Nest begins splitting, I will remove the shield, and you need to immediately separate the splitting Nest.”

”3, 2, 1!”

Beep.

Mo Ke pressed the button, everyone held their breath; the atmosphere was immensely tense.

After a while, the crowd, intently staring below, began to harbor doubts. Why didn’t they notice any changes in the Nest? Could Mo Ke’s plan be unreliable?

Raymond looked at Mo Ke, about to ask, but saw Mo Ke’s eyes wide open, face flushed red, veins popping on his face and neck, looking terrifying.

Mo Ke gazed at everyone and uttered word by word, ”I feel something wrong with my body.”

Raymond stepped closer only to be pulled back by Wu Chang.

”Don’t go near, he’s about to become a Disqualified Monster!”

Wu Chang could clearly see the evil within Mo Ke gathering, and Divinity was emerging from it.

Mo Ke’s evil wasn’t weak, though not reaching Farrell’s level, it was more severe than something like the Gluttonous Ant. Once transformed into a Disqualified Monster, it could instantly kill an unprepared Raymond.

Raymond exclaimed in surprise, ”But I didn’t see him inject any potion!”

Wu Chang watched as Mo Ke’s face contorted, filled with disbelief. It was clear this was not Mo Ke’s intention, but rather a fault in his plan.

A gust of eerie wind blew from Mo Ke’s body, mixed with Divinity as if laced with blades, touching it would draw blood.

This was Mo Ke’s Disqualified Domain.

Booker and the others dared not directly confront it, activating Defense Skills and retreating outside the Disqualified Domain range.

Wu Chang remained in place, pulling Raymond behind him, donning the Electromagnetic Master again, and conjuring an electromagnetic barrier around the two, constantly neutralizing the encroaching eerie wind.

Mo Ke’s plan consisted of three steps: the first was injecting the potion into the Nest; the second was opening the shield above the Nest.

Currently, it proceeded to step two; the shield above the Nest retracted, revealing a giant cavity. Mo Ke, as if drawn by something, staggered to the edge of the railing and directly flipped over it.
