Chapter 3973: Bloody Strike

Xia Jinyuan didn’t know that he had already received countless apologies. He was still a distance away from the sound of leaves rustling.

The forest was too dark. If he wasn’t careful, he might end up far away from the retreat route of Cobra and the team. Xia Jinyuan didn’t have night-vision equipment, so he relied on the noises in front to catch up.

Luke, who was feeling extremely guilty, heard footsteps chasing after him. He was elated. The bodyguard beside Cobra raised his gun and shot behind him. Luke reacted quickly and nudged his arm. He said coldly, “Do you want to kill Xia?”

The bodyguard whose arm was nudged said coldly, “Maybe it’s not Xia.”

“I’m telling you that it’s Xia!” This time, Luke insisted.

Cobra, who was in front, stopped in his tracks and said to Luke, “You and Xia will bring up the rear.”

“Yes!” Luke immediately agreed. He was afraid that Cobra would change his words. Cobra nodded slightly.

He needed loyal subordinates and subordinates who wouldn’t give up their partners so easily. Obviously, this was what Luke always did.

Xia Jinyuan, who was chasing after them, heard a familiar voice from behind a rock. He looked around vigilantly and stepped on soft leaves. Then, he pushed aside the branches that blocked his path and walked to Luke’s side.

Cobra was not nearby. It seemed like this fellow was waiting for him.

As he walked over, he quickly said, “They should have night-vision equipment. Retreat to the mountain as soon as possible and avoid them.”

When Luke heard that there was night-vision equipment, he cursed and said to Xia Jinyuan, “Don’t fight with them head-on. I bet that they must be sent by the Chinese to take care of that arrogant fellow. And we’ve been implicated by him!

“None of us can rest tonight. Let’s escape quickly.”

There were no more gunshots coming from the villages in the mountains. Everything seemed so quiet. Cobra didn’t know if he had already escaped from the Chinese’s search. After resting for a while and adjusting his breathing, he saw Luke and Xia.

Luke repeated what Xia Jinyuan said before and said, “If they’re really people sent by the Chinese, there must be a time limit. So, Mr. Cobra, I think we should be safe by dawn.”

After hearing this, the gloominess in Cobra’s eyes subsided a little. His thin face, which had a gloomy expression, was not so tense anymore.

Luke’s analysis was correct. If they were really sent by the Chinese, they must have a time limit for the mission. Waiting until dawn was a good idea.

However, he hoped that he would be able to contact General Minlai when he was farther away.

He didn’t want his men to be targeted by the regular army sent by China to clear Qin Maosheng’s nest. He didn’t want to have any misunderstandings with General Minlai, who was rushing over in a helicopter.

Qin Maosheng was gone, but his deal with General Minlai still needed to continue.

Myanmar was a drug-making country. He didn’t want to give up this piece of meat. He didn’t want to lose the secret protection of the Burmese army either. Before leaving Myanmar, he needed to tell General Minlai who might have destroyed Qin Maosheng.

If a country’s and another country’s military units faced each other and both sides were afraid, he would be safe.

Cobra had already thought of what he should do next. It was precisely because he could think of what might happen in advance that he was able to control everything. That was why he was able to get to where he was today.
