Chapter 3882: Mission

She was a soldier. She was already prepared to make sacrifices when she wore her military uniform. There was nothing to be afraid of. That was right, there was nothing to be afraid of!

It was a bumpy ride along the river, but Ye Jian kept her spirits up. She moved her tightly tied hands and feet again. She didn’t find a way to untie them. She curled up quietly and held her breath. She used her ears to listen to where she was.

She heard the sound of running water and the sound of machinery. There were no other sounds. It was very likely that she was alone now.

The sound of water, the sound of machinery running, the ups and downs of the waves… She should be on a ship. Captain Xu told her that the kidnapped Yin Jin and the other female soldier left the country through the waterway too. She was in the same state now.

She just didn’t know if she was still in the country or if she had already left.

Ye Jian didn’t struggle. She thought about it quietly. Gradually, her eyes became heavy again. The space in the barrel was small, and the effects of anesthesia still lingered. After swaying for half an hour, Ye Jian fell asleep again.

The ship was still moving. Qin Maosheng still wanted to make a deal with the Chinese police, so Ye Jian was safe for the time being. Since she was safe for the time being, she might as well use the time to conserve her energy.

There was a satellite signal tracker on the soles of Ye Jian’s military boots. Even if the other party left the country without stopping, their whereabouts would be captured by the country’s armed police and the Cloud Leopard Commando Brigade in Yun Province. They would also send a disguised assignment cargo ship to follow them.

Xu Yu was on the ship. He stared at the blinking signal. The wireless walkie-talkie in his hand had never left his hand since he boarded the ship. “The speed is too fast. Maintain a speed of ten knots.”

The speed of the other party’s ship was around 12 knots. The Chinese disguised cargo ship followed at a speed of ten knots. The distance between the two was neither too far nor too close. If something happened, they could immediately support Ye Jian without being suspected by the other party.

The river they were in flowed through the four countries of China, Lao, Myanmar, and Thailand. Now, the boat had entered the waters of the Golden Triangle and was about to enter Myanmar.

The ship that Ye Jian was on sailed out of the country at the highest speed. When the ship left the country, the tense expressions of the people on the small cargo ship relaxed.

Now, they were safe!

The disguised Chinese ship slowed down and didn’t follow them closely. After entering Myanmar, it was their turn to be careful.

It had been 36 hours since Ye Jian’s kidnapping.

Ye Jian didn’t know that she had been kidnapped for 36 hours. She felt dizzy after being injected with the strong anesthetic. Shortly after waking up, she would fall asleep again. During the time she was awake, she would listen to her surroundings. When she realized she was still on the ship, she would fall back asleep. By the time the strong anesthetic wore off, 38 hours had passed. It was 11:00 pm the next day.

Less than ten minutes after 11:00 pm, the cargo ship reached the shore. Ye Jian woke up with a start when the cargo ship reached the shore.

The cargo ship stopped. She heard countless footsteps and shouts from above. The people were walking around to move the goods on the ship. They took more than an hour to unload the goods. Ye Jian, who was curled up in the wooden barrel, heard the creaking sound of an iron plate being pulled up. Then, several people stepped on the iron ladder and came down. Gradually, the heavy footsteps got closer and closer. Finally, they stopped beside the wooden barrel.
