Death… And Me

Chapter 3310: Count on me!

”Hum?” Somewhere, over ten continents of distance away, Foliana was cultivating together with Tanxan and Renata when suddenly, her CD received a call. ”Oh! Rean! Why are you calling me? It is not the time for our monthly contact yet, and shouldnʼt you be contacting Tanxan instead?”

Rean shook his head from the other side. -No, Iʼm calling you for another reason. Foliana, knowing how you love history, I doubt you didnʼt spend every moment you had free learning more about the history of the continents around you, their customs, etc. If you could, you would have visited every single one of them, passing for every single country, right?-

Foliana was confused. ”Well, thatʼs obvious. What I canʼt learn by seeing by myself, I learn through the Divine Snow World Network. I donʼt want to brag, but I do believe I know more about this region of the Divine Snow World than 99.99% of the inhabitants here now. Of course, that only encompasses history. If it is the various secrets of this region, then Iʼm clueless. I donʼt have enough time to investigate that further.”

-Thatʼs all I need you to know,- Rean didnʼt mind, quickly entering the main topic. -Foliana, it turns out we need to find a place, but we donʼt know where it is. We only received a clue and quite a vague one.-

From there, Rean explained the situation, and also repeated the entire clue they received from the system. I believe the main clue is this centurion thing, but Iʼm not sure. Does it spark any memories from you?-

Foliana quickly nodded. ”Well, but of course! Iʼm pretty sure you are talking about the legendary five centurions of the Olanstel Country.”

-Five Centurions of the Olanstel Country?- Reanʼs interest was picked. -Tell me more.-

Foliana smiled, always the happy girl to talk about history. Olanstel Country was located on the south side of the continent of Qediya, which was two continents away from where the twins were at the moment.

The centurions she was talking about were five legendary experts who led the Olanstel Country in a conquest that almost took over the entire continent of Qediya. However, their blatant disregard for the other powers from surrounding continents sparked retribution.

Together, the other continents joined forces and struck down Olanstel and their five centurions. As powerful as the five centurions were, they couldnʼt really go against the forces of various continents combined.

Many things happened, and the centurions were driven all the way back to Olanstel, where they ultimately were forced into a defensive position. In the end, a deal was struck that ended that war. The five centurions would each join one of the surrounding continentsʼ powers, which highly regarded their abilities both as combatants and strategists. In exchange, they wouldnʼt be killed, and above all, the Olanstel Country wouldnʼt be wiped out of the map.

Even the Inquisition Hall got into those negotiations and even provided Soul Binding Contracts that worked on experts of their level. The Inquisition Hall didnʼt want to get involved but was promised enough resources to do so. That ensured that both sides would keep their word.

The third centurion, a spirit called Fidi-lu, was the only centurion to remain in the Qediya Continent, joining the Qediya Royal Family, which controlled that continent from the start.

”This is a story from a very, very long time ago. All centurions have long since disappeared. Some think they died; others think their contract time was over, and they just left. Nonetheless, the centurions became history and, naturally, part of my memories. I can go into deeper detail of how the war progressed back then if you want,” Foliana concluded.

Rean had to admit he was entertained. Foliana truly knew how to tell a tale. However, he didnʼt have time for that. -That wonʼt be necessary. In any case, do you have a clue of what ʼthe third centurion will show you the pathʼ means?-

Foliana nodded and continued. ”Fidi-lu has disappeared just like the others, but until he didnʼt, he was known as the lord of the Valames Valley. Other wars happened in Qediya since then, but nothing that required someone like Fidi-lu to take the reins. That said, it is said he never left the Valames Valley until he faded from history. The place now has a big city, and no one really seems to know anything about him. Itʼs way too far in the past, so it makes sense most completely forgot about the centurions. In any case, I think the Valames Valley, where the Valames City exists now, is your best shot.”

Foliana also added another piece of information. ”Besides, that place is indeed known for having a great view of the skies. Seems to fit your description quite well.”

Rean couldnʼt help but smile. It would be too much of a coincidence, indeed. But he knew that wasnʼt something easy to find out about. When he heard about the ʼthird centurion,ʼ he was thinking about a constellation of stars. No wonder he got no results in his search. -Thank you, Foliana. You were of great help!-

Foliana smiled. ”Happy to talk about history anytime. Just give me a call.”

Finally, the call ended, and Foliana resumed her cultivation.

Back on the twinsʼ Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm...

”Well, you heard her,” Rean commented.

Roan, on the other hand, already had the map of the surrounding continents open in his CD. ”Qediya is two continents away from here, on the west side. The best way to go there is by long-distance teleport formations, and the closest one is the Qlonvi Captial.”

”Can we teleport there?” Kentucky asked on the side.

Yet, Roan shook his head. ”It is better if we donʼt take any teleport formations in the area since we are still being searched for. Kentucky, prepare to take flight. We are going to leave this region and use some other teleport formation. Preferably in some city outside the area where we caused the phenomenon.”

Kentuckyʼs eyes lit up. If that meant he could finally stop cultivating, then he was all ready for it. ”Count on me! What are you waiting for? Letʼs go!”
