The Villain's Story

Chapter 800: Me and you(2).

The sky tore asunder with the cataclysmic breath of the chaos Draconian unleashed, a force so devastating that it vaporized everything in its path. However, it was the last time that breath would be unleashed by the Shadow.

Crimson and black blood stained the pristine snow as the calamity collapsed to its knees. The ice beneath it fractured under the immense weight of its body, struggling to pry open its mouth, which was ensnared in a prison of ice—ice unlike any other, infused with every ounce of Alan’s mana. He had pushed the limits of his dragon heart, and thus was the result.

The Shadow lay impaled, a lance driven through its throat and anchored into the frost-rimed earth below the Shadow. It unleashed catastrophic waves of frost mana, detonating within its very form like a series of explosive charges.

Frost mana continued to seep into the body of the Shadow, carrying with it an outline of ominous black energy as it devoured the very insides of the Shadow. Its metallic black scales, once a mighty defense unlike any other, collapsed from within, and turned brittle as the Shadow wished to let out a roar, but only blood escaped.

It raised its hands to grab the lance, devastating its body. The moment it grabbed the icy lance, the cold energy spread through its hands and froze them to the lance, but it did not care.

Using its own titanic strength, it pulled the lance out of its body and threw it to the side, where it exploded, releasing frost energy everywhere, which eventually trapped the Shadow in ice.

In the distance, a cracked crystal fell to the ground, and flesh and bone began to emerge from it, forming Alan Peccator, arising from the dead once more. The Shadow, trapped within the ice and howling silently in pain, looked at the mass of flesh and broke through the prison, using its claws to tear through the ground and launch itself at the crystal. This soon disappeared, hidden underneath bone and flesh.

It raised its arm to cleave the mass of flesh in half, but before it could, A hand rose to intercept it. Human, with no scales for defense or fearsome claws for offense. An ordinary, human arm, although it may have more strength than any other human arm.

It grabbed the wrist of the Shadow, and soon the body was comprised anew. The exposed brain had a skull to protect it, and an eye appeared, gazing at the Shadow and the grave wound in the throat. One could almost sense the eye smiling, even though there was no face or skin to express any emotion, just flesh and bone.

Another second, and Alan Peccator was there once more.

”Fuck yeah!”

With his right hand, he punched towards the wound and kept punching. He had wanted to let loose a horde of spells, but unfortunately.

He couldn’t.

There was a piercing pain in his chest whenever he tried to conjure his usual amount of spells; all he could manage was a transformation.

’I’m low on mana...’

His heart wasn’t producing mana at the same rate as it was before, like it had been weakened. Well, it had just gone through a disaster, so Alan cut it some slack.

[Skill: Draconian Transformation (Ice) has been activated.]

The Shadow caught Alan’s fist with its other hand, much like Alan had done, and used its dreadful tail to attack. Alan used his own to block, but even he knew his plain tail wouldn’t do much against the serrated mass of blades that was the Shadow’s tail.

A clash wouldn’t be good, so Alan just wrapped his around the Shadow’s, letting the blades cut into his flesh and grind his insides.

Slowly, he was being pushed back in this battle of strength, but not for long. He was already strengthened by the surrounding environment; however, the Shadow was no easy foe. Even in this weakened state, it possessed a good deal of strength.

And that was exactly the point: Alan had two advantages over the Shadow, and one of those was his regeneration.

The Shadow possessed no healing factor, whilst he did. And the other?

An astral blue glow shone from his eyes, and the same light arose from his skin to cover and augment his physical being as Alan pushed the Shadow back, slowly proving himself in the contest of strength.

The other advantage was aura. The Shadow did not have it, not even a single speck of it; therefore, all it could do was enhance its body with mana, while Alan could use Aura.

When it came to physical empowerment, Aura was the supreme energy, and thus, The Shadow met its match, slowly being pushed back, its feet sliding across the ice.

Alan kept his eyes on the wound as his hand crushed the wrist of the Shadow and drove the other arm back. His tail was in immense pain, but he could filter that out right now.

It tried to open its mouth, but encased in ice and its own congealed blood, it was a futile attempt, and even if it did... what breath would it unleash with a body like that?

There was a gaping hole in its neck and upper chest, its teeth dug into its own gums, and the tongue was frozen solid, stuck to blood and Alan’s mana. Furthermore, its defense had been broken down, and parts of its body were covered in ice that it could never break with its weakened strength. Alan had to admit that he was surprised he had done this much damage.

Even though he had poured everything into that attack, he didn’t expect it to be this destructive.

’Maybe I am str-’

His thoughts were interrupted by the glowing circles of purple light that appeared, hovering over the body of the Shadow, and the mass of chaos mana erupting in the sky, ready to rain down thousands of spells within moments.

’...’

Without a second thought, Alan headbutted the shadow, right in the chin, and continued to do so until he heard multiple cracks.

He had to kill it before it could show what a dragon could really do.
