The Villain's Story

Chapter 795: Masterpiece Vs Masterpiece.

With all his might, Alan compressed the Supreme Meteor, it was the first time he was doing this, and even though it would have crushed whatever was trapped inside, he knew it wouldn’t be too easy.

It was merely to buy some time, as his Gravitational Field reached its maximum output, and also for his Winter Heart to refill.

Aura was not an option, no matter how much he enhanced himself with it, it wouldn’t give him enough strength to overpower the godly strength the Shadow possessed. He was still an amateur in handling it, the best use for it now would be to heal Alan.

It gave a massive boost to his regeneration, but at a hefty cost. Alan could regenerate his entire body in seconds if he used aura as the fuel, and he had a feeling he would need to.

’Four... No, three more times.’

Measuring his reserves, he realized he only had enough to regenerate his entire body only three times, he would have to deal with this with mana. Instead of an all out physical brawl, he would actually have to embrace his nature as a dragon and spam sorcery from above, or use whatever magic he had. He had three chances.

Regenerating with mana would take too long, and he was certain his heart wouldn’t be surviving that long against that.

’He’s stronger, more durable, and faster if I don’t use my teleportation.’

Alan thought, as cracks appeared throughout the meteor, ominous purple light escaping its suffocating prison.

All of a sudden, Alan’s instincts fell off the charts, and he teleported towards the ground, abandoning the high ground. A terrifying roar resounded as the sky above was covered with a purple and black beam of pure chaos.

’...’

Even taking a glimpse of it was a chore, the light the breath released burned his eyes, and only through the usage of [Dragon Eyes] could he see how massive the breath actually was.

’... There’s no dodging it once it’s unleashed.’

There truly wasn’t, it would ruin the entire system of mana in the surroundings, as well as release a blinding light that Alan couldn’t hope to use Instantaneous teleportation within. Even if his retinas weren’t burned to ash because of it... It would literally hide everything, and merely moments after it the dreadful beam he had experienced once already would eat away everything.

His gravitational field crumbled to dust, Alan grit his teeth. He wasn’t hoping for it to actually hinder the Shadow, just to aid himself... but it was gone, just like that.

’How the hell do I fight against that?’

Even his own concentrated dragon breath couldn’t go against that breath. It was like throwing an egg at a boulder hurling towards you. It wouldn’t stop it at all.

Furthermore, it wouldn’t even hinder it.

Alan took a deep breath, as he stared at the Shadow, finally free from his rocky prison, staring daggers at the one who placed him there, albeit for a short while.

”...”

The lean and menacing figure of a Draconian with four large wings and a serrated tail, looking down at him, was... scary.

But it was also annoying, it was ticking him off for unknown reasons. How dare it look down on him? He had his own pride as well, and his blood boiled at the very thought of being looked down upon.

Perhaps a side effect of being from the greatest species.

Alan’s eyes darted around, he couldn’t find the Ame-No-Sakahoko, and was sensing no response as well. He hoped his dear spear hadn’t been turned into dust due to the breath.

A piercing cry ripped through the air, Alan looked to the skies, and saw large circles of mana cover the horizon.

’...That’s...’

Ah, he realized it at that moment, he should have teleported further away. It was funny, he had never been on the opposite end of this particular form of attack.

”... Haha.”

A dry laugh escaped his mouths, as Alan directed his mana to the ground, ice covered his entire body, starting from the feet, and furthermore, an entire mountain of it arose from the ground.

It was not a form of attack, rather it was defense. All Alan did was make a fortress of ice in the form of a mountain around him, to withstand the onslaught that was about to come.

As a dragon, he knew this was merely the best way to endure it as he thought of ways to disrupt it, he could teleport... but would he really be able to think straight as he was being bombarded?

It was the truest attack of a dragon, one he used without even noticing, one only a dragon could do.

Spell Spam.

The skies of the Shadow realm rained down thousands upon thousands of spells, as a mountain of ice arose from the black sands to withstand the slaughter.

---

”Hmmm...”

Maxwell rubbed his cheeks as he arrived at the entrance, and exit of the Shadow Realm, nobody but him had come here yet, perhaps still in the middle of besting their shadows.

”Well, he sure is having a hard time.”

Maxwell sat on his bike, staring at the direction Alan went in with binoculars. He could see it from here, the sky throwing down purple lightning as well, more he couldn’t discern, probably.

He whistled, as he took out a cigarette and began to smoke, waiting for everybody else to arrive.

He was currently stuck in a dilemma, should he be happy that he was the first one to defeat his shadow, or sad?

Was it really an accomplishment that he did it first? It felt like he was just boasting about his weakness.

’Well, I can test this out then.’

He extended his hand, and watched quietly as a black energy began to emerge from his skin and cover it completely.

[Skill: True Shadow is in effect.]

It had been a long time since he acquired a skill, and he just knew it would be a great skill, seeing as where and how he acquired it.

Unfortunately, he wouldn’t have time to test it out, as he noticed a black blade resting on his neck, ready to decapitate him if he moved even an inch.

”...”
