The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2785: Chapter 2785: Concealment (8)

Hong Yu was interrogated by the Emperor once, but nothing more was extracted. However, the Emperor didn’t kill her directly; instead, he imprisoned her in the Heavenly Prison.

It was Yang Ruxin’s first time entering the Heavenly Prison. Although the name sounded a bit grand, all the prisons under heaven were more or less the same: eerie and dim.

Hong Yu was kept in a solitary cell, with conditions much better than others. At the very least, there was a wooden bed inside, covered with thick straw, and there was even a quilt. Moreover, she showed no signs of being tortured.

”Looks like you’re doing quite well here,” Yang Ruxin said with a smile, standing outside the cell and looking at the woman sitting on the bed inside.

”Do you want to come in and try it?” Hong Yu raised her eyes. The woman who used to be radiant was now haggard.

”What a pity, I didn’t break the law, so such an opportunity might not come my way.”

Hong Yu snorted coldly, ”Then what are you here for?”

”Of course, to visit you, Aunt Hong Yu,” Yang Ruxin gestured to the prison guard.

The prison guard hurriedly opened the cell door.

”I’ve said everything I had to say,” Hong Yu lowered her eyes, ”Do whatever you will, be it execution or flaying.”

”Living poorly is better than a good death,” Yang Ruxin walked in, ”I brought food over.”

”A final meal?” Hong Yu raised her eyes.

”Maybe,” Yang Ruxin watched as Chai Qin set down the lunch box, then personally retrieved the items inside and laid them out on the ground one by one, ”Dare to eat?”

”At this point, what wouldn’t I dare?” Hong Yu smiled, got up, sat on the straw on the ground, pulled off a chicken leg from the roast chicken, and gnawed on it, ”Haven’t eaten something this good in days.”

Yang Ruxin also sat on the straw opposite, pulling off a chicken wing to gnaw on.

Hong Yu was stunned for a moment, then smiled and ate with more gusto.

”The Concubine Shu and King Han have already left the capital,” Yang Ruxin said after finishing a chicken wing, pulling out a handkerchief to wipe her hands, ”It was only after you went missing that they sensed something was amiss and began planning their escape.”

Hong Yu said nothing, but her action of gnawing on the chicken leg paused momentarily.

”The reason they’re so afraid of you being suspected or caught is that you know too much,” Yang Ruxin scooped a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Hong Yu, ”Besides, you were involved in many of those matters.”

Hong Yu placed the bone down, tore off another chicken leg, and continued to gnaw, though she still sipped some soup.

”So, you’re still hiding something.”

”I’m not.”

Yang Ruxin raised an eyebrow slightly, gazing at the other.

After a long while, Hong Yu shifted her gaze slightly, somewhat guiltily.

”Let me guess what you’re hiding, how about that?” Yang Ruxin’s eyes narrowed slightly.

”Madam, the concubine once said you’re a formidable opponent. If you can’t be used by me, the best way is to eliminate you,” Hong Yu smiled, ”What a pity, you have a big fate.” She paused, ”No need to guess, I’ve told you everything.”

”Daxuan doesn’t advocate overseas trade, but it hasn’t prohibited it either, so over the years, maritime trade has developed quite well. Naturally, the best development is in Jiangnan, where four powerful families almost control all the ports, and the top rank is the Meng Family, followed by the Chu Family, Zhao Family, and Duo Family,” Yang Ruxin continued to narrate slowly, ignoring Hong Yu’s words.
