The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1873: Chapter 1873: Doors Closed (1)

There aren’t many nuns at Xiangshui Nunnery, but no matter how few, there were always young nuns taking turns to greet guests at the gate. However, today, strangely enough, there was no one.

But since it was now afternoon and the weather was quite hot, there were no visitors either.

Yang Ruxin and her entourage were the only ones who had come.

”Strange, where is everyone?” Huang Family frowned.

”Perhaps it’s too hot, and they’ve all gone to a shady place to rest?” Wei Yao glanced around, ”However, no matter how hot it is, there shouldn’t be no one?”

”Why don’t we go in and see?” Yu Qingge looked at Yang Ruxin. She always felt her sister was hiding something from her. Perhaps there would be something interesting inside later.

As soon as Yu Qingge spoke, Xuxu hurried forward, trying to push the gate open. But after a long time of pushing, she couldn’t budge it. It seemed it was locked from inside.

”Why is the gate closed in broad daylight?” Yu Qingge frowned.

Generally, unless something major happens, temples and monasteries won’t close their gates during the day. Some even keep their gates open at night just in case. But Xiangshui Nunnery has its gates closed at this time, which undeniably feels strange.

”Madam, why don’t I climb over and open it?” Xuxu volunteered.

At this moment, the sound of hoofbeats was heard, and then a group of people was seen approaching from the foot of the mountain.

Yang Ruxin smiled; the timing was much too perfect.

At the foot of the mountain, Jiang Boye was helped off his horse, his legs weak. If Congxin hadn’t been supporting him all along, he felt he would have sat down. Good heavens, rushing all the way here was going to be the end of him!

Gu Qingheng also came over: ”Boye, up there is Xiangshui Nunnery.” He saw the crowd at the nunnery gate too. Although it wasn’t close, he could easily spot his wife’s figure. It seemed their journey had been quite timely.

”Let’s head up then.” Jiang Boye adjusted his hat a bit and stretched. Then he pushed Congxin aside and walked up the mountain with hands crossed behind his back.

Though his legs were still shaking a bit, he couldn’t let others see him faltering. After all, he’s a noble man; he can’t disgrace the Empress Dowager, can he?

Gu Qingheng and his party followed behind a step slower.

Fortunately, the steps were short, and they soon reached the gate.

”Greetings, Boye.” Yang Ruxin promptly led everyone in saluting.

”Why are you here?” Jiang Boye frowned and glanced at Gu Qingheng.

”Boye, the Empress Dowager just rewarded my wife a Hot Spring Manor.” Gu Qingheng exchanged a glance with Yang Ruxin, ”It’s the Songquan Villa next door.”

Jiang Boye’s expression became tangled for a moment. Of course, he knew this; he was there at the time. He couldn’t help but nod: ”I forgot about that.” It made perfect sense for them to come to the manor, dispelling his earlier doubts.

”Originally, we came to soak in the hot springs, but then we heard from the manor head that there’s a Xiangshui Nunnery here, where a female Divine Doctor is revered. As you know, I’m studying medicine, so I thought to pay a visit.” Yang Ruxin interjected, ”This is the manor head’s wife, Madam Huang.”

”I know.” Before Madam Huang could come forward to greet, Jiang Boye waved his hand, ”In that case, why are we standing outside?”

”We just arrived, but the gate is closed.” Yang Ruxin looked helpless, ”We were just debating whether to leave or wait a little longer.”

”The gate is closed?” Jiang Boye frowned immediately and quickly gestured.
